How to take the top down on C4 convertible and fixing rear release

- The cable was busted on my C4 convertible that releases the two pins that hold it to the deck in the rear. I fixed that with a bicycle brake cable and show you how to put down the convertible top.

I just bought a 92 convertible and know nothing about these and will be learning. I scored it so I got it from the 1 owner in great shape 118k miles all origanal for 5500...hope it was a score anyway..lol just a couple flaws I can't seem to get the rear of the top to go straight up and down (like 1:25 of the video) it gets to about 2 o clock and stays and the hatch won't clear. Any ideas.

Why didn't you fold the latches back at the top before lowering...I always do...

I have a 1996 with the glass rear window. The problem with the glass window is trying to fix the defroster grid. But I really haven't had a big problem with it fogging up.

Sir my conv. top does not seal correctly, there is a noticeable gap at the rear drivers side when the top is up, any suggestions?
You likely have to replace the weatherstripping which I did do, but do not have a video on that. It is fairly difficult to remove the existing weatherstripping and almost impossible to put the original screws back to secure it. You have to use a special 3M contact cement to reattach weatherstripping.
I have a 1991 and the hard top is not popping up when clicking yellow button nor is there any noise being made can I manually release it to open or how do I fix I’d like to put the top down lol
I don't know of any way to release the rear hatch if pressing the yellow button doesn't work.
Before closing the rear hatch the two levers that latch the top at the windshield need to be flipped back the other way
or they interfere with the hatch when closing it, putting everything in a bind. The owners manual clearly states
the necessity for this to avoid damaging the hatch.
Another hint is that when you put the top up, you need to lower the windows a bit. The top won't be easy to get down into the lever points if the windows are all the way up and in the way.

Where the cable pulls in the center are 2 adjusting nuts. Play with it until it pops correctly.
