Thanks, this is actually good to hear! Some other reviewers noticed "air pockets" too, probably some units are dealing with this issue, which is not great, but better than all of them having this problem. See for example engadget review of the Infinity. Androidpolice also mentions "light bleeding" (but it has been noticed in every single model of a tablet with the IPS screen)
Hey thanks so much! I feel quite confident now that the LTE is the one I want. Considering it will be my first tablet, I have nothing to compare it with, so it should not leave me wanting anything. Once again thanks and keep up the reviews!
finally, someone talk about the full hd movie playback. this tablet is capable of playing 1080p videos people!!! that's huge, at least cover in depth of how the video is scaled, how good it looks etc.
Good point there. On the other hand, there are units with pretty excessive light bleeding, so you probably can't go wrong with trying to exchange something which extends to half the screen.. BTW, I'm getting my Infinity tomorrow at the noon, fingers crossed! ;-) and thank you for your detailed reviews!
Hi there, probably one of the best review on youtube about this amazing tablet/laptop. Thanks. Just a question and maybe you can help me with this: do you know if the docking keyboard has been produced or distributed for different language standards other than english? I work both in english and italian and it would be quite useful to get two docking keyboards, one in english and one in italian when I switch between the two languages. thanks! Fab
I read that they are not shipped with the infinity. Yes, dust COULD be a problem if it builds over the connectors. Shame...BUT STILL a nice machine this one
This is nothing to mess with like the new iPad. If you want a pretty tablet then get the iPad but if you want some serious power on a tablet then get the Transformer Infinity!
Good job on the review. I may just hold off on getting this tablet or any other tablet using a full HD screen. Why spend the money when there's nothing out there to take advantage of that kind of resolution. It won't be long now when tablets will have two gigs of ram so I might as well just get something cheaper and wait until the next gen of tablets come out in 2013.
There is a lot of confusion on the keyboard compatibility with the prime and infinity, have you tried using the prime keyboard on the infinity? The Asus website says it won't work, is that the case?
In Europe at the moment, there's only the 64GB version but I managed to find in US a 32GB tablet (only) for US$500. Not bad for a tablet with full HD display plus other ports. I think my choice is going to be an ASUS instead of the ACER Iconia Tab A700
You're wrong, quad-cores aren't more power hungry than dual-cores. The only reason they put dual-cores with LTE is that LTE is not supported by the existing quad-core SoCs (Exynos, Tegra 3...).
Good day. I just realised that the LTE version is NOT quad core but dual core. Any idea why this would be the case? I was really looking forward to quad core but I was holding off to wait for the LTE version. Would there be much of a noticeable difference with the dual core? Thanks!
i have a question if u dont mind answering. i heard that google isnt supporting flash anymore, and i was wanting to watch some videos from sites that used flash (i havent bought the infinity yet) and since adobe flash isnt in the app store anymore, are there any browsers that i can use, that can convert flash to html5? or a way to get flash on jellybean later on, on the infinity since i plan on upgrading it to jellybean when it comes out.
does it play 1080p mkv's (bitrate between 5-20mbps) without lagging at all? if its not, will it ever? when upgraded to 4.1 jelly bean or so? its a dealbreaker for me if this is not fixed. one x with same tegra 3 was playing up to 120mbps 1080p videos iirc. and the look is also not for my liking. i wish it wasn't brushed aluminum and i wish it was white. now you may say buy an ipad then but iOS is such a limited OS for power users.
Well, I know for a fact that that's the issue for the Exynos quadcore chipset but the ''battery'' issue is bullshit. The Tegra 3 usually draws less power than a dual-core. Maybe they did it to limit production costs.
Thank you for the valuable information, I do have the transformer prime, and now I recently got the infinity, one thing I'd like to find out, the docking latches were closed with mini rubber pieces on prime, but I did not see any rubber covers on the Infinity...Is that the case?, Does Asus no longer provides those mini rubbers for the docking areas? Little odd, thinking some dust might easily couse a problem... Anyone has infinity has anything to say on that please...
release date ?! do u guys think this will be outdated soon ? D: im selling my mid level laptop for this because i like android a lot and want something that does not have to load an OS or anytjhing just get to the browser and word. most importantly i like 9 hours of battery life lol im just scared in the fall the better versions of this will come out
best tablet is galaxy note 2 asus tf700: ram 1gb, galaxy note 2: ram 2gb asus tf700: 4.0 android, galaxy note 2: 4.1 android asus tf700: only touch, galaxy note 2: touch with s pen asus tf700: only wifi, galaxy note 2: wifi with sim card slot PRICE IS A BIT HIGHER BUT STILL WORTH IT
Nope... Galaxy note 2 is a smartphone, it has a small resolution screen that doesn't support 1080p, it also has a smaller screen, TF700 will soon support LTE but with a dual-core processor, ram is not that big of a problem, 1GB is enough for a tablet, TF700 has android 4.1.1 update, s-pen is not that important... So... you are completely wrong
wow this person doing the review got it like almost a month before somehow, thats why the camera sucks and thats why the os is not updated to ICS 4.0. When it actually came out its has everything. ICS 4.0 , and also a 8mp camera with awesome aperture. Nice review, but its just a little outdated. :D
I just want to say I love your reviews. They're so in depth and get every little detail in there. Good job on these reviews, keep 'em coming.
Amazing review, seriously one of the most worthwhile youtube clips ive ever watched

I Bought this tablet after reviewing your videos ..
Thank you :)
Hey, i found your site by accident . Great video very informative. Keep up the good work
Fantastic review! Keep this kind of content up!
cannot wait to get my hands on one! Will have it sometime tomorrow! :D
Also the transformer has a keyboard dock with USB 2.0, full sized SD card slot and the tablet itself has a micro HDMI port which sometimes is useful

Great review and reviewer, subbed to your channel.
Never mind my post, i was in a bad mood at that moment. :D I am from KW too btw. :)
I read that they are not shipped with the infinity.

Awesome reviews :D
Yes oh yessss!!!! My favorite navigation is on here too! Only reason I didn't buy iPad 3 is because it doesn't have google navigation
thanks for the review, I would like to purchase one. Can you provide any link to get it? Thank you

Question if you don't mind? Can you plug an external NTFS formatted hard drive into the dock and view large MKV HD movies from it?
Very good review thank you.

soo.. any lags on ur infinity? it has terrible i/o issues.
is there a color difference with the gray prime dock and the gray tf700?

sorry if this is asked before but when is it release in europe?
No it's not. Android has so much customizability this comes out on top. The graphics are better and you aren't limited to small windows apps.
How to do use GPS on this tablet without WIFI? Or is that not possible?
where can you buy this tablet on the 16th bestbuy says they don't know if they will have it
galaxy note 2 is 5.5 inch iphone is 3 inch (now 4 inch) both note can record 1080p full hd

How about reading newspaper? Is the experience "extremely" smooth?
How can you play 1080p movies?
this is much better

im posting from it right now :)
23 mbps download must be nice. Fastest we can get is 1.5 mbps in our area from DSL : (
You can just exchange it you know?
best tablet is galaxy note 2
asus tf700: ram 1gb, galaxy note 2: ram 2gb
asus tf700: 4.0 android, galaxy note 2: 4.1 android
asus tf700: only touch, galaxy note 2: touch with s pen
asus tf700: only wifi, galaxy note 2: wifi with sim card slot
PRICE IS A BIT HIGHER BUT STILL WORTH IT
I would advise against that if you live in the US because Europe always pays more for what we get for cheaper.
Hi,will asus get the jelly bean update ?
I heard it was going to get jelly-bean 4.1 like they did with the Nexus 7 tablet!
Am un tf700 si nu pot folosi yahoo messenger pentru video si voce doar pentru scris... poti sa ma ajuti te rog....
No 3/4g. WHY??????????
Just so there is no confusion, Amazon has absolutely nothing to do with Google or Asus. They are all separate companies.
Salut, ce imi recomanzi iPad 4 sau Asus TF700T?
daca poti sa imi dai emaiulul tau, sau ID-ul de messenger prin mesaj privat sa vorbim putin.
If you get both you don't have to choose.
So does anyone actually have one of these. I see orders online but I haven't seen average ppl post reviews and such
damn. its a new must-have. cant stand the facts :)
you should stick with the asus tablet if you need a light weight, simple, just for surfing web, reading books, entertainment purposes
Win RT with this and Office.
I will buy one.
I am a PC noob. just need browser, skype, live messager and office :)
