The USB-C charging is good but not worth the upgrade from my point of view if already owning gen 1. It would have been great if a tripod mount was added. It’s something the Polaroid Go also lacks.
It took me a little while to get used to this camera but now I am fine with it, works for me. But it seems, most people don't like it. That is why I like this video, it's still respectful towards the machine.
I recently bought a Now Gen 2 and from the pictures i've taken so far the camera appears to have a tendency to under expose but i haven't used it on a bright sunny day as yet. Those that i have taken have been inside with flash or outside on overcast days without flash. The flash is only usable outside at short distances anyway as it's not powerful enough for longer shots. If you want to use flash outside for longer distances you need to use an auxiliary flash gun with an optical sensor and set the gun to S1 mode so that the camera's own flash can trigger the auxiliary flash.
thank you so much for the video! its been very helpful, not just for learning about the two different cameras. but also learning about the polaroid i just bought!
I want to buy MY FIRST Polaroid but I'm really undecided. I'm a beginner but I'm undecided between the NOW and the NOW+. Of both versions, gen 2 differs from gen 1 only for the USBC, in practice, right? Can the flash be deactivated in both possibly? In the end, what do you recommend? I would like to shoot both indoors and outdoors a lot.
I started with the 600, the film is a bit more expensive as the film carries the disposable battery. From what I understand.. I’m glad I got to see the outcome of an original, retro Polaroid camera before going to the gen 2. Gives you an idea on the implications/differences. The Polaroid 600 can be found very cheap too.
Hi! I bought this camera this week and the same happens with me when I took some photos and some kind of a "black bar" appears at the base of the photo... Do you have any advice to prevent this from happening?
Does the quality of photos has a difference between the now and the now + ? Which one do you recommend for a beginner who just wants to take a couple of photos for memories? (Vacation, parties etc) I’m between now, now+, now gen 2, now plus gen 2. Thank youuuu
@@CREATIVEreviews I didn’t mention in my city now gen 2 and now+ have almost the same price. Also now+ is available. So if the quality is the same should I go for now+?
Yes you can adjust the exposure with the buttons on the back. Press and hold the flash button But Polaroids require a lot of light in general so they usually are on the dark side
Hello, dear sir. The Gen 2 camera, can you still use a neckstrap on it? I bought a neck strap and I am not sure if it only has that one hole for the wristlet. I hope I can still use a neckstrap :(
Hey! Loved the video! I'm thinking of buying a polaroid, I was wondering how long did it take your pictures to come out of your camera? Was it instant? I'm a senior this year and I want to bring a polaroid to school to take some pics with my friends in our last moments! Thanks!
If they’re the close to the same price get the gen 2. They may have updated something that they haven’t talked about much and why not get the newer one. As I’ve used it they both feel exactly the same to me. Just usb c is the big difference for me
I wouldn’t get the now+. I never use any of those manual features. The now gen 1 and gen 2 are very similar. Basically just a usb-c port instead of a micro usb-c port
I don t get why you do not try to change the settings through the app. You could change the aperture and the shutter and this would impact the exposure
It wouldn’t keep the settings the same during use without the app once it’s turned off. I’ve never been a big fan of using the app to change settings at all because I’m a point and shoot person and I’m definitely not going to open the app every time I need to take a photo They have a light sensor on the camera, it should do a better job estimating the light for the inconsistent Polaroid film
Im curiuous about b&w film does it have brown line on the top after sime time ? I had one b&w film and after some time pics have brown line on the top 🤔
At least for me, I’ve never seen a brown line on B&W film. That would be almost impossible because it’s a true black and white chemistry unlike Instax which is a type of color emulating B&W. Polaroid’s black and white film is my favorite to shoot on because of how crisp the photos are and I feel like it does better in low light
@@CREATIVEreviews this is so strange .... l loved my b&w polaroid at first ,but then from nowhere l saw the lines on all ...l used 600 polaroid b&w🤔 maybe l got damaged film 🤔 if u happy and yours all good ....l will try it again to see
@TheEigylyte maybe it is something to do with the chemistry. It’s never happened to me but now that it’s happened to you I’ll be on the look out for it
To make these videos quickly I did use the photos from the Gen2+ for the gen2 video. I’ve since gone color and black and white in both models and I’m finding the same results. My favorite look so far on all models gen1 and gen2 has been the new reclaimed blue
In the past I would have said they were different because the gen 1 now+ overexposed and the now seemed normal but after taking the first shot, it’s looking like the now is overexposing landscapes
"Just another Chris" believes that a firmware update addressing some of the issues with the Gen 1 are why they released the Gen 2. Understand that Polaroid will never admit this, but that's what Chris believes is what's happening here.
I saw that video. If that’s all they intended to do… they didn’t even do that right because this is having the same issue 😡 This has been so disappointing
@@CREATIVEreviews I'm told people who went with Instax from Fujifilm have not been disappointed. Have you tried out any of the Instax line of products?
Polaroids are very temperamental. I never expect something consistent even when taking pics back to back. Other than that, just make sure your film is kept in the fridge until you use it and if it’s extremely hot outside you will get colorshift. The + seems to overexpose and the now seems to underexpose
@@virginiaruiz1315 now+ can connect to a phone and you can adjust additional settings. It also has a tripod mount, physical filters and a lens cap. Whenever I shoot, I keep it basic The only real difference between the now gen 1 and 2 is the 2 has usb C instead of usb micro

They leave that off to force you to get the now+. As a company, you can’t release a product as a gen 2 and do this little
@@CREATIVEreviews Agree 100%, it’s not enough to make a gen 2.
I agree, my ocd said otherwise.
Mine is the one plus gen 2 though. I bought them 3 weeks apart.

Yeah it’s just that Polaroid seems to inconsistent with the quality of the cameras and film chemistry. Everyone seems to have a different experience
thank you for getting right to the point and breaking it down. we dont need a long ass intro and overediting like other vids
Simple and no editing. That’s how I like it 😂

Good idea I’ll have to try that out in an experiment
I personally hate carrying around anything non-essential so I just stick to the base camera

Clean the rollers, make sure that everything in the camera closes properly. If nothing helps, make sure to exchange the camera
