I love that he performed this, not only because we all love his music, but because he usually has bad things to say about his own music, especially with Oingo Boingo. Now he's actually happily playing one of his songs and warming up to it. I'm glad he's looking back with more fondness.
Alice Hes never said bad actually about Oingo Boingo, just that a music video he was in that he didn’t have creative control over was “stupid” but it got taken way out of context , also he hates thinking of the past. But its true he sadly avoids talking about the band much recent years so its great to see him feel at home with it like you say!

I wanted to write that the music of Oingo Boingo is the best thing that has ever happened in my life, and it is a great luck that I, a 15 - year - old girl from the wilderness of Russia, heard it. Danny's music has helped me through hard times and keeps me moving on. There are no words to describe how I feel when I listen to this incredible music. I just want to say "thank you" to everyone who has something to do with Oingo Boingo. That is all.

It wouldn't matter where it was in the world, if Boingo got back together for one concert I'd find a way to make it there. I was fortunate enough to grow up in So Cal and be a teenager in the '80s. I'll always be grateful for that. Boingo forever!

Oingo Boingo is oddly one of my most inspirational bands. Not only some of the songs still hold up (Like Imposter and Only a Lad) but in a world of heavy metal and rock, Elfman and his men... did this.
Green Tees yeah very true even the rev from avenged sevenfold started a band called pinky smooth that’s very elfman influenced and that one record they made is probably my top 3 of all time.
YES!!! Oingo Boingo's use of percussion and horns, and the bright-yet-dark melodies were exactly what some of us kids were craving--Danny filled a tremendous need for us 'quirkier' kids :)

I know that Richard wanted to get the film colorized at some point so the color version is what his original intent is, but the black and white version is just so much more surreal than the color version its more separated from reality and alien making the experience that much greater. I remember many shows at the sports arena, a New years Eve show, damm near ran 3hours. The Mexico show. Santa Cruz, Great America, Irvine Meadows,91x playing the San Diego shows again right after they were over. Jed the fish and KROQ playing live shows from the Whisky in LA. I've seen many bands live. Boingo was the best live band ever. Even better than the Best Farmers, another kick ass live band.

We chuckled, "yeah right". She said, "no really, someone's credit card charge didn't go thru and those 2 seats are available." So we bought them but didn't believe it could be true. At the show, the escort walked us all the way down to front/center. omg...the stars had aligned for us for some reason. But as you know, no one sits for a concert like that once it gets started, so we were inundated with the crowd within seconds, but held our ground for the whole show. LOL
One of my earliest "New Wave" albums was Oingo Boingo's EP. I got it after hearing a Milwaukee Garage band perform "Ain't This The Life" (1980). I moved to L.A. a year later and saw Danny at a gas station. He was so humble! But, I tell you what. I'll never FORGET that smile and those eyes. AND Their concerts were so much fun with all the insanity going on. BTW: My favorite O.B. song is "Cinderella Undercover". I still play it on repeat from time to time. :)
I love Danny's singing voice. I grew up in Southern California in the 80s and Oingo Boingo was one of my favorite bands. This is a real treat here....I wish they could get together just one more time.

I have been Boingo since 1980 when I received a BAM California Music Magazine and 78 record from my aunt in California, one of my greatest memories was seeing them at the old Liberty Bell race track in Philadephia PA where the performers where, The Specials, The GO GO's, Oingo Boingo and The Police great show and one other time at the Spectrum in Philadephia PA I even had Boingo put on my New Jersey license plate this performance MADE MY DAY ! Thank you so much I would love to see a reunion tour but I guess that is alot to ask, but there is nothing wrong with being Boingo ! Danny you thank you for all the great music and great times ! only a lad !

I'll be posting more videos of Oingo Boingo Former Members (the band without it's founder) with lead guitar player Steve Bartek who does orchestration with composer Danny on film scores... so who knows, maybe someday a segway will present itself... they all live and play in LA

I was a big fan of your soundtracks like the nightmare before Christmas and Edward scissorhands. I later gained a large appreciation for Oingo Boingo who are my favourite band ever. Richard Elfman is a great film director! Shrunken Heads is great too. Jenna Elfman is the luckiest woman to be married into that family.
