- NFS Hot Pursuit (Remastered). One of the best Need for Speed games that I never played when I was younger. I always heard good things about NFS Hot Pursuit over the years and how the game successfully captured the spirit of some of the Need for Speed titles prior to the groundbreaking Need for Speed Underground by EA Blackbox. I never really played any of the Hot Pursuit titles mainly because I grew up with U1, U2 & MW05 so this is the first time I'm properly diving into Hot Pursuit. Any tips & tricks are appreciated, love yall

It's been quite a while since I last played and haven't played the remaster yet but here are some tips
- not all shortcuts are your friend
- emp can be avoided by OUTMANUEVERING or OUTSPEEDING (hit turbo before the square thing completes)
- turbo are your best friend, but remember to use it only on straights or open curves
- this game has the best brake to drift system, master it.
- if I not mistaken, jammer can also be used to disable spikes strips
- you can use emp on the helicopter, good luck with that though.
- I personally would prefer to finish career before hitting online, but you do you.

Nitrous mechanics:
• Racer nitrous is less potent, but lasts longer. Requires dangerous driving to refill at all: taking shortcuts, oncoming, near miss, etc.
• Police nitrous doesn't last as long, but is very potent (almost equal to Turbo). Requires only high speed to refill. Slipstream, drifting, and taking shortcuts speeds this up. All other dangerous driving (oncoming, near miss, etc.) does not apply, so no need to risk yourself on oncoming lane.
• Wrecking a police, or busting a racer will reward a full nitrous bottle.
General tips:
• Level 3 spike strips deploy in pairs. To maximize spread, swerve during deployment.
• Crashing (either the target or the vehicle that is targeting) will cause EMP lock-on to miss.

• Ramming an already crashed car will not reduce its health.

Police tips:
• Police car must physically touch a parked racer to initiate a bust. Keep the racer still for 3 seconds to bust.
• At the start of the round (regardless of game mode), nitrous is empty. Form a line to slipstream each other and fill nitrous faster.
• A full nitrous bottle can outrun EMP lock-on, unless when already at top speed.th-cam.com/video/JRrOLf4zonk/w-d-xo.html
• If a racer tries to avoid EMP by brake check, ram it instead to cause a crash. th-cam.com/video/iqGY_jZtZsQ/w-d-xo.html
• In a head-on collision with a racer at the same speed, the racer will crash.
• If a racer is trying to push you while you are parked, stop to trigger the 'bust in progress'. Reverse gear of most cars tend to be weak. th-cam.com/video/iqGY_jZtZsQ/w-d-xo.html
• Distance counter is unjammable. Use it to gauge where a racer might be hiding.
• If systems are jammed near an intersection, slow down and look for tire marks. If there isn't any, racer likely head straight. th-cam.com/video/zlrLVnsO7hs/w-d-xo.html
• Police will never crash at roadblocks, no matter how the roadblock is hit.
• Helicopter is your friend. If being targeted by EMP, and a helicopter flies nearby, there is a small chance helicopter will take a hit instead.
• If far ahead from the rest, be a part of the roadblock, close the gap, and cause maximum chaos. th-cam.com/video/gUY7UIVM5AQ/w-d-xo.html
• In Most Wanted mode: if far behind and on roads full of switchbacks, look at the minimap. Sometimes, slowing down will result to Most Wanted reentering into your range, buying your team far ahead time to catch up.
Racer tips:
• Spike strips are jammable, including deployed by Helicopter. Note: in Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted modes, spikes from racers will not be jammed.
• Stay on oncoming lane as much as possible. Offset a bit to avoid traffic. Traffic will always travel at the center of the lane (until they were rammed).
• Helicopters can be targeted with EMP. This will force them out of pursuit prematurely (and waste a Heli). th-cam.com/video/HkYUieie6G4/w-d-xo.html
• To crash a police head-on, be at least 60 km/h faster. Anything less, police will win.
• T-boning a roadblock unit (hit the geometric center), or anywhere far from a gap will result to crash.
• Most Wanted is seriously handicapped: no EMP, 2 Spikes, 2 Jammers, 1 Turbo with 3-minute cooldown, and nitrous recharge rate is significantly slower. Its survival depends heavily on its bodyguards. To counter the nitrous handicap, have at least one bodyguard in front of Most Wanted for slipstreaming purposes. That bodyguard can also serve as battering ram of roadblocks to clear the path for Most Wanted.
• In Most Wanted, racers start with full nitrous. Make use it them to increase distance away from the police.
• If Most Wanted is a very fast driver, focus on slowing the police down instead.
• Hot Pursuit is still technically a team match. Racers should work together to stop the police from disrupting the race, and have at least one racer reach the finish line.

Exotic:
• Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR: very little speed loss during drift. Highly recommended for Most Wanted. th-cam.com/video/8KxcnIGtn5c/w-d-xo.html
• Lamborghini Diablo SV: most powerful nitrous boost. Highly recommended for bodyguards.
• Pagani Zonda: Best grip handling.
• Bentley Continental: a flying tank.
Speed Enforcement:
• Porsche 911 GT2 RS: smallest hitbox, and best drift recovery. Can maintain 360 km/h easily. th-cam.com/video/UP_JieoO3Vo/w-d-xo.html
• Dodge Viper SRT 10 ACR and Lamborghini Diablo SV: same reasons as above.
• Bentley Continental: a flying battering ram.
Hyper:
• McLaren F1: most powerful nitrous boost.
• Koenigsegg CCXR: best handling and performance balance.
• Bugatti Veyron Super Sport: the fastest tank.
Special Response:
• McLaren F1: same reason as above.
• Gumpert Apollo: the only vehicle that can maintain 400 km/h under natural acceleration.
• Bugatti Veyron Sport: the fastest battering ram.
Not to mention that the SCPD vehicles are more capable of reaching their 'enhanced' top speed quicker.

If these tips are useful, then im stupid to only use 25% of them.
I mostly, never stop accelerating, drift on every turn, use every possible shortcut, brake whenever targeted by emp, pick the car with highest top speed.

• Drifting at every turn helps with nitrous recharge provided you know how to microdrift (very small drift angle) at shallow turns to reduce the speed loss.
• Not all shortcuts are shortcuts. Some make no difference, some are even longer routes than the main route. However, all of them do provide alternate routes for dodging roadblocks.
• Brake check may not work against alert players. May need to combine that with something else, such as swerving. For police, a full bottle of nitrous is another way to dodge EMP (unless when already at top speed). th-cam.com/video/JRrOLf4zonk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=w5T4FnCmPxDZPWJt
• Cars with top speed may have some drawbacks to overcome: weak durability, terrible handling, large hitbox, etc. Ignore the spec sheets, give each car a test drive (freedrive) to assess its "actual" (in-game) top speed and its driving characteristics.
Pro tip: always stay on the oncoming lane as a Racer for easy nos but caution bc its harder to do near misses on the oncoming lane

You can use your weapons during a takedown cutscene.
For example: EMP the racer/cop in front of you and spike the racer/cop behind you (this will only work if you time this correctly).
All Need For Speed Racers or Cops will face this funny or Awkward situation 😂😂

yes i tried it. it is actually satisfying. try doing that with heavy cars like the bentley though.

Here are some good tips for online (Tryhard-like but hopefully not overwhelming)
-Use Gas to drift instead of brake to drift for long, high speed turns. The more turns you can gas than brake, the faster you'll go.
-Try to get to rank 20 in racer and cop modes, as it will give you the Gumpert Apollo S; the car that sits atop the Hypercar meta with the Maclaren F1 (Apollo for the Acceleration, F1 for the Speed).
-As a racer, try to stay on the Oncoming lane for nos for as long as you can. The more confident you get with dodging traffic (Provided it doesn't Spawn on you), the longer you can stay in oncoming, the more chances for near miss gains on nos.
-The beaten paths on offroad shortcuts allow you to go full speed, heading off them does slow you down a little bit but do try to avoid it.
-As a Racer either in Inteceptor matches or as the Most Wanted, use your jammer around blind corners when cops don't directly see you. You may be able to juke them if they don't know what to look for. In counteracting this as a Cop, if the runner has recently used jammer in a shortcut, Slow down and look for skid marks that make a sharp turn. It indicates where the runner went. The tracks are harder to see in dirt tracks so a prediction may be needed.
-Save your turbos for straights. (Straightforward)
-As a racer who is protecting the most wanted, one should try to stay behind the target to bodyblock cops away and take emp hits for the target to escape. When the target has a chance to pull away, the racer behind them should pull back and help the other racers fend off cops directly. Having heavy cars can help in impact-related combat but it costs speed. (Especially in Hypers where the protectors should use the Veyrons for impact, the Veyron SS unlocks at level 18 and has decent speed to keep up with the target)
-It is easier to chase than it is to lead. If you've got two miles or less to go and you're only hundreds of milliseconds infront of second place, give them a slight lead by lifting off the gas and trail behind. This relieves stress and pressure from your shoulders and puts it onto the new leader, giving them more chances to slip and more importantly, slipstream gives nos. (Just be sure the gap you give isn't too big or you won't catch up in time.)
-Lastly, treat Arms Race like Mario Kart but you all start with pickups.

Sports: Porsche 911 Turbo, Mazda RX-8.
Performance (You could pick any car here and still compete well regardless): BMW M3, Maserati Gran Turismo S, Porsche 911 Targa 4S.
Super: Lamborghini Gallardo 550-2, Lamborghini Gallardo Superlaggera, Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series.
Exotic: Pagani Zonda Cinque's, Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR, Aston Martin One-77, Lamborghini Diablo SV, Lamborghini Mercielago LP 640-4.
Hyper: Maclaren F1, Gumpert Apollo S.

Racers: 1 - 911 Turbo/Boxter Spyder, 2 - M3 E92, 3 - Gallardo(original)/918 Concept, 4 - Cinque/One-77/Reventon/Sesto Elemento/Carrera GT, 5 - Veyron SS/Apollo S.
Cop: 1 - WRX STI/911 Turbo, 2 - Any, 3 - Nissan GT-R/Gallardo, 4 - Any, 5 - Veyron SS/Apollo S.

Ahh good ol hot pursuit. I always liked this better than most wanted. And i would always go back to hot pursuit 2 when i was younger. When this one came out i got so excited for the return of crashing into eachother because racers dont like speed limits

The Porsche 959. It’s one of the cars added onto the NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered. It wasn’t on the original so that’s more than likely why you’ve never seen it.

When u use a emp and u are playin with friend and he targets same car or u know ur team mate are using emp u can do double emp.
U can do also emp ram which is just ramming miliseconds after hiting emp.
Edit: when u crash an racer without totaling his car u can Block him and arrest after staying few seconds near his car
Note: cars must be touching each other to bust.

I got the remastered via Prime Gaming, and the physics are just bullshit. Seriously, what is that? The only true Hot Pursuit is NFS III: Hot Pursuit. And nothing will reach the level of Pro Street or Shift 2.
