- I'm spending 2 days in one of Central California's biggest Wildlife Refuges using two different camera techniques to photograph wildlife. We'll see which one is better and what great opportunity I come away with on the second day out at the marsh.

Your style of videos is awesome especially in the realm of wildlife photography! Your podcast with famous youtuber is amazing too, congrats!
Thank you!! Appreciate the compliments ☺️
Can understand that the 135mm worked great for video, but as for the photo’s, I liked the ones shot with the telelens better, beautiful shotes actually. As always thanks for sharing!
Love it, thanks! ☺️🙌🏻
I grew up in California and it's great to see you capturing awesome photos of its wildlife. I'm a little bit into photography myself but nothing professional as I've taken most of my pics with my phone. I enjoy watching videos of more advanced photographers though and I hope you post more content soon!
Glad to represent the wildlife of California, more coming soon ☺️ don’t give up on those photography goals!
@@JeremyNeipp thanks I'll try not to
Underrated channel and awesome video!!
Thank you so much! ☺️
Salute and respect from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada! We have been watching your videos on our TV screen. We like them a lot because of the way you narrate your experience. This one was no exception.
Awesome to hear that you e been enjoying the narration and TV experience! ☺️ thank you!
Getting close to the subjects actually makes a huge difference! And the 135mm forces you to. Great video once again! I didn't receive a notification for some reason 🤔
It does! Gives you more options with a wider lens as well ☺️
I you ever make it further north, check out the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge and Colusa National Wildlife Refuge north of Sacramento.
I’ve always wanted to! Passed by it many times but never stopped
I really enjoyed this vlog, as did my 96-year-old dad! We'd never seen some of the birds in your video (being that we're in the Northeast). And thank you for trying a different lens to capture wildlife. That's one of the reasons I watch your videos: I always learn! Happy New Year to your and your family! Cheers!
Makes me happy to hear! ☺️ and glad you enjoy the 135 lens as well, trying to push my creativity and inspire others to try. Happy 2024 to you as well!
Really fantastic video! Incredible visuals and sound. You’ve got some real Mr. Beast storytelling vibes going on here with some of those drones shots and narrative techniques that subtly tell the audience to keep watching until the end. Really, really great work!
Thank you so much! Glad to see another recognizing the storytelling techniques 😎
What a great spot and you said that it was only about 10%...can imagine what it was before! Cool video Jeremy!
Yea it’s been crazy in past years! But still was amazing.
As a shorebird nerd, I so envy your black necked stilt encounter :) Nice produced video Jeremy!
They are absolutely fascinating birds! I’ve always loved every encounter I’ve ever had with them. Thanks so much Trond ☺️🙌🏻
Great video Jeremy!! Makes me want to take video on my Fuji XH2s with my 50-140 mm lens. I'm always stuck going for the super telephoto shots; need to try something new! PS get up east of Merced, 20 miles in the hills to Lake McSwain. There are tons of Ospreys now, and it will really be good once the eggs hatch, (Feb/March) and the Juvi's start learning how to dive bomb and get fish!!
Glad to inspire it, it’s so fun for me switching it up and I’d definitely recommend it!
And never heard of that lake, I’ll have to look it up! Do you keep track of the nest locations at that lake?
Excellent video and content as always! I learned wildlife photography on a 135mm lens, great lens. however, I was so happy to upgrade to a super telephoto lens. Both have great and different views. Keep the great content coming.
That’s amazing, I haven’t heard of someone who learned wildlife photography on a 135 before! Thanks so much.
@@JeremyNeipp Not by choice, the 135mm came with the used camera I bought years ago, only one I could afford, film camera. I loved wildlife photography, so that is how I learned. Funny how much you can learn when you have limits. Now I have too many lenses and struggle sometimes, lol. I must say you are doing a phenomenal job with your wildlife photography! Can't wait to get back into it :)
@@John-Shutterlyphotos thanks for the encouragement! And yes it’s incredible to see how people can adapt to what is given to them. Cool to hear your story, one for me to remember with my students to encourage them☺️
Another area of love to visit!. It sounds like your Pintail ate the same as my Green winged Teal in the UK.... they'll flush at the slightest thing.
Haha yep, we get Green Winged Teal here too and they are pretty much just as skittish. I was amazed by the Pintail in that encounter
@@JeremyNeipp ah glad to know it's not just me 😅, I'm thinking a floating hide is the best way to get close to them!. I've only ever seen Pintail from a hide, not sore how common they are in the UK.
If you have the chance sometime, I think you’d love a few days in Horicon March (WI)
I’ll have to give it a look!
Interesting video. The 135mm f/1.8 lens gives great chances to get super nice photos, as you got. Ciao Jeremy!
Thank you!! Yes I’ve been loving that lens 😎
curious, why do you pick s1r as a chosen camera? why not canon, sony or nikon.
Great question, I'll talk about it more in my next video :)
Is that at salton sea lake? Awsome video!
Merced NWR! Thank you!
Where is this place? It does not look like the one near me.
