I also have experienced the same way while driving on highway. I could even cross 25kmpl with AC on in my Toyota Etios G while driving 300 kms . Trick was to not accelerate or decelerate in a rash manner and maintain a speed of 70/75 kmph +/- 5 for most part of journey.

Completely agree on the tips. I too follow the practice of not driving beyond 1800rpm and that saves lot of fuel. In reality you have achieved better mileage than visible and also lot quicker as you didn't reset your meter and started off with 11kmpl. The instantaneous fuel economy is an easier way to judge in real-time what avg you are getting so I personally always prefer having that turned on instead of trip avg.

I have same car due to mountainous region it is difficult to maintain speed 70-80 and gear shift is also needed in short distances due turns but your explanation and demo is excellent.
Maintain speed between 50 to 65 kms in less traffic roads or highways and drive in 5th gear with full attention on the road. You will get best mileage.
In city how to do that?
@@thakurprati5580 In city driving, we may often use 2nd & 3rd gear only due to traffic 🚦 congestion all the time. Your vehicle 🛵🚗 is bound to consume more fuel. You may get some relief by keeping your vehicle serviced periodically, proper tyre pressure, avoiding over speeding, in nut shell, you should adhere to smart driving.

On high with these tips...I was able to take my fuel economy to 27Km/L without AC with SWIFT VDI car...but I am not sure how accuratly these meters measure fuel economy.

Krushnakumar Bhandakkar I have a engine treatment after doing that you can drive at 40 in the 5 th or 6 th gear without jerking. I got 22 kmpl in my 2016 Ciaz zxi+ on Bangalore Hyderabad highway, Basically I ll keep dynamic mileage indicator on and i try to maintain 30kmpl reading(This is not actual mileage) , didn't exceed 3000rpm ,80-100 kmph is possible in this rpm. will take off gas pedal to have coasting and engage again when speed drops below 80 . A/C set to 24 Auto.

You are right sir. I have dezire diesel. And i drive almost maharashtra, gujrat , MP. Also drive in Mumbai's heavy trafic in western highway. I am getting milage 19 to 20 in very heavy trafic and on highway its 27 to 30 almost with AC.

You should not expect good fuel economy while driving uphill. Try to increase fuel economy by engine dragging while going downhill.

@@tech_to_know there used to be a service slip from maruti explaining fuel efficiency...it said to change to 2nd at 10km/hr to 3rd gear at 20 kn /hr to 4th at 30 km/hr and 5th at 40km/hr...(for petrol engines)...
It depends on gear ratio too.....
It maynot be possible to shift so in diesel cars ...maybe 2000rpm should be reached or It will knock ...
See if you can change gears without raising rpm....smooth transition and greater fuel efficiency....
I change to 5th at 38km/hr...by that speed I can feel rpm raising...:)
