This is a little off topic, but have you ever made a repair to the third brake light of a 91-96 C4 where the bumper gets warped and pops out around the light? I can push it back into place but it will not stay. Was thinking of rigging something behind it by gluing a hook to the bumper cover and another to the gas tank and use some type of ties to compress it to bring it back in.
Hopefully you can help me with this i have a 93 lt1 Corvette convertible it has 33 thousand miles and is like brand new what started recently is as i drive the car the security n the system lite will come on periodically but car runs fine.. when i shut off sometimes ill turn the key and car will just crank, wait 20 minutes and it will start rite up and run perfectly, replaced the octispark, water pump, ignition module, injectors, coil, bypassed vats key, new fuel pump, I'm at my wit's end to be honest, do you have any suggestions by the way no check engine lite ever comes on never dies when driving it only when i shut it off just cranks, wait a little while starts right up
Enter, it sounds like you are having some BCM issues. Since it is an intermittent event, you may have a simple problem with the wiring in the harness connector. If that checks out, you may have an internal fault in the BCM. There is a method to put the BCM in diagnostic mode using the buttons on the DIC switch. The procedure is outlined in the factory service manual. If you haven't purchased one yet, I highly recommend buying one for your car. Let me know how it turns out👍.
The Corvette went to the pin drive in 1995 with the introduction of the vented optispark. If I'm remembering correctly, it was an across the board change for all the car models with the opti installed.
@VetteSource yes it was I just wasn't sure if the corvette did too but that really doesn't make sense to upgrade the rest and not the corvette! Gm flat out wouldn't do that I don't think. But thanks for the information and I'm stating to see why I never had any issues with the 95Z28 I had but have been having horrible luck with this 92 but I'm getting one of those vented petris optisparks so the vented and supposedly a Mitsubishi equivalent or better optical sensors and hopefully all my problems will be cured.
@VetteSource damn the original equipment huh?! I assume it's pretty low Mileage? That's a very long time ! ESPECIALLY for the 92!! The 92 had a recall on the first optispark units! I tried to find out if mine had the recall done to it but the dealership I called wasn't sure they said they'd look into but I never heard anything back which I wasn't surprised. I wouldn't have anyone else put one in anyway! Dealership or not! I don't trust people! If you want to make sure it's done right then I believe you gotta do it yourself if you know what you're doing.
Good video helps me with my LT 4
Good deal Jim, glad you enjoyed it👍.

that's a tough one but you can work they area carefully with a heat gun and light pressure to see if you can relax some of the age related warpage

Do you know if and when the changed to the pin drive optispark on the corvette? Or did they keep the spile drive on the corvette and just go vented?

Yea, that's not a bad idea. My 92 has the original non-vented unit, and it gives me fits sometimes if it's outside while raining.

How do you remove the side pillar trim?
There will be two Phillips head screws holding the side pillar trim in place.
Where did you find the panel replacement at ??? Mine is also broke.. For my 1996.. Thanks...
Stephen, this one was from my inventory supply. I have a few more available if you need. You can reach me through DM on FB or IG @VetteSource.
