Randy, thanks so much for the positive feedback👍. TH-cam is great for the way that I can help other enthusiasts of these awesome cars enjoy them to their fullest. I've been a Corvette fan since around birth🤣, and been blessed to have been able to make a living doing what I love for almost my entire life. I'm glad to hear that sharing this semi useless information floating around in my head is helpful to others.
Gotcha, one thing to keep in mind is that the beltline molding is black versus body colored on the earlier bumpers, so you may need to look into changing the front bumper and beltline moldings around the car to make it look right.
@@VetteSource Would that be the case even if I only want to swapout the top portion of the rear that houses the rear lights? I really like the sharpe/square look of the 84-89 prefer the interior of the 92-96 withe the new engine.
Can you access the fuel line clamps thru the tail light holes? I have one to replace and do not want to drop the tank to do? Or remove the entire bumper..thanks for the vid info
If you're talking about the fuel line clamps on top that feed into the sending unit, you can just remove the fuel tank door from the top and you'll have plenty of room to work with. It's held in place by 4 T15 torx heads bolts at each corner.
@@VetteSource ,Yes done that, got to one of them that way but there is another one toward the pasenger side tail light I cannot access? I THINK it just snaps into rubber gromlet,s? That was the reason for asking if it can be reached thru the tail light opening? Thanks For the reply
@@VetteSource I am referring to the hold down rubber grommets that holds the supply and return lines across the top of tank, I need to cut and remove the 3/8 supply line and install a new one? Sorry for the confusion on my post
Ok, you should be able to access through the outermost taillight, but they are not the easiest to get out. If your car is a later C4, you can remove the passenger rear inner fender liner to access that line. I believe the one you talking about is the evaluation vapor return line from the tank.
You're thinking the 91-96 rounded style. 90's still have the angular look with black belt line molding. The belt line on the newer bumpers are at the same level on the car, but different style so it will be very noticeable unless you change out the front bumper, door, and quarter panel moldings
unfortunately quite a few Corvettes get forgotten about or abandoned due to an owner dying, losing interest, or experiencing a mechanical problem. This particular car belonged to a customer of mine that used to buy parts from me several times a year while using it as a daily driver. The transmission went bad so he gave up and let it sit in the weeds behind his house for several years before I bought it for parts. If you think this one is bad you should see this 1992 Convertible factory hardtop I pulled out from behind a mobile home that sat for almost 2 years after a drunk driver sideswiped it - th-cam.com/play/PLAM-V1w3acpig5KsFXSKCa98sgjBNpBxo.html
I did check out that 92 that you sent the link to. You're right that thing looked trashed. I hate to see those beautiful Corvettes get so messed up! I have a 96 convertible polo green with beige leather interior that has 50,000 miles on it and still looks like new. Did you ever finish restoring that 92?
Polo Green is a great color, very classy. I still have the 92, just put it on the back burner for now so I could get finished up with some of the easier projects. It runs and drives right now, it's just ugly because of the paint/body damage.
Funny, I've been through your town before many years ago when I was in town for the Bloomington Gold Corvette show. Nice place, and friendly atmosphere from what I am remembering.

Thank you, I need to take a rear end off for repaired under insurance. No information in the UK on how to do it. Appreciated
You're welcome. Glad I could be of assistance👍
Fantastic video thank you for making these.
No problem, plenty of good videos to come.
I’m watching this so I can replace mine with the circle headlights becouse I don’t really like the rectangle ones

Can I install the 84-89 C4 rear bumper on the 92-96? Thank you.
They will bolt up but will require the entire early 84-89 belt molding style to match the bumpers.

Ok, I understand, taillight removal may be your best option to access that area.
If I convert my 88 C4 read bumper to the 90 rear bumper, how off will the belt line be?

@@VetteSource yes sorry, 91+ bumper swap. Thank you for the information, I will take that into consideration 👍
NP anytime. 👍
How does a 91 Corvette get so trashed? Did you pull it out of the bottom of a lake or something?
