Regarding what you said about Bunny's skills - Once you get the transcendent mod that juices Bunny's 1st and 3rd ability, her skills will do insane damage to the boss. As an example, on hard mode Devourer, I can solo the boss in like 1:45 using Just skills without firing my weapon once.
Like Warfare, you want your health and armor stats to be high for survivability. Shields not so much. But like Warframe, there is a character that benefit from shield increases. The one character in First Descendant is Kyle. His kit is base around his shield like Hildryn from Warframe.
Yeah, enzo can regenerate his shields with his skill at a percentage amount. Legit with high skill cooldown, you can almost always have your shields regenerating. That man was my first choice when checking all the descendants out. Does not fail to impress me when you buff his skill power to legit become an aim bot low level mob killer when you reach end game and use his turret skill to mow them down just by looking in their direction.

Hey i was hoping youd bring this up in your video. Theres a mod called "An Iron Will" that, at max capacity of 16, will give you 128,3% DEF when your shield is 0. This might go well with your current build? Maybe a full on "noshield" build would be viable, in combination with the "Overwhelming HP" mod, that reduces ur shield to 1 but adds 14.2% of the reduced shields as HP. I dunno, would love to see you try this out

I’d say DEF and Health modules should be the first one using catalyst slot on, since those are guaranteed on every build. Skills one’s need more testing, I think purple mods are additive and blues are multiplicative.
So defense is weird, you only want increased def on all characters but no more than that unless you're ajax. Hp increase and hp amplification are a 100% must but instead of regen boost I suggest hp conversion on kill regen hp so killing mobs is 100% hp and ammo hopefully. There is no need to max out an antibody leave them at 2k before max or just do 5k (Diminishing returns and optimal building 1k=10% reduction 2k=20%5k=30% than it's 35% at 8k) Do not use the multi antibody mod it's awful and it evenly distributes the resistances into each slot. So 800 than 200,fire,200cold,200 toxic,200 electric. Pointless and will do nothing.
For everyone reading this comment and playing def character like ajax or kyle, aim for 80/120k/160k def. Those are the sweet spot for us. 40-50k is good for other character

It's also recommended to aim for 40-50k DEF at most, because there are certain breakpoints where you decrease incoming damage. Basically decreasing incoming damage by 10% every time you double your defense starting from 2000 DEF, and then 4k, 8k, 16k, etc.. Also, Elemental Resistances are not as valuable against Hard mode bosses because they hit so hard and the elem res values are so small per mod/external component sub stat

Yes, you could do lower if you are super maximizing dps because each bracket is incrementally less, but I don't know the breakouts.
That's why I plan to main Gley when I can finally build her, not having MP or Shields makes her super easy to build cause all of those mods that impact shields and MP have ZERO effect on her negatively and her 1 is a straight 20% gun damage boost iirc from the betas.
On 2 of your external components (auxiliary power and memory) you can roll both Max HP AND Defense with resistances. All 3 and you'll be even more tanky
Also to note, for some reason on reactor the blue negative stats are higher than the gold stats. I’m sure they will fix it in the future but for now it’s worth pursuing.
The last sentence in DEF is "The maximum efficiency for effects that reduce DEF is -80%." I think that just says enemies can reduce your total DEF by up to 80%.
This is correct. Defense increases by 10% everytime you double the value. Once you hit 25k there is no reason to go further unless you can hit 50k or are Ajax as some of his abilities scale off defense. The -80% is the maximum def debuff you can get. Most colossus debuff defense. For most depending on components a single defense mod is all that’s needed. Hp mods will give you the biggest bang for your buck as is a maxed out hp collector.
Dude, all shields are is an addition to HD and addition HP that ignored by certain damage site from characters depend heavily on shield or have the ability to recharge their shield are deadly easily and frequently but again in every game played that had a shield bar. it’s really just literally an addition to your health bar, also generally speaking naturally recharging that right and you can further bump that up in this game with recharging it in combat, and by the way every external component, at least the nine cent one if you’re looking to mid Mac stand not damage or whatever that ones are the best way to go and each one of them has the option to be have a state of death or main status of HBO Max shield You can 100% your shield or people are talking about having like 3000 shield because they’re character appropriate to that Enzo Enzo with the push button can recharge I believe it’s 25% of your shield so the bigger shield power the more of a healing button that is because it’s literally just an old school Reminds me a lot of the division and pushing the heel button in this case I believe you can go back 25% of your back shield like when you go to hell you pick up an orb and you get a chunk of your mat max health back the more help to have the bigger junk is the more effective Enzo, the bigger shield are the more effective ability that doesn’t kickstart the in combat regeneration or the normal gives you 25% but I think it also kicks in whatever kind of regeneration you got going on. Enzo is the only descendant who can viably shield tank, to my awareness, purely cuz he’s actually got the ability to recharge his shields while taking damage. I haven’t tried to many other descendants tho, cuz ammo, and is not good at modding in this game yet
I would say the only exception ive found so far to the shields vs health thing, is enzo. Enzo should probably stack defense shields rather than health defence
tried that, sadly shields are a joke, for some known and unknown reasons i can tank better on hp then shields, also if you wanna equip a trans module you gonna loose out on skill 3 (shield regen) so its just better to not go that route
Nobody talks about this but imo Yujin is the best Tank. Im a Yujin main and haven't played the other tank classes but i haven't ran into anyone more tanky than me. Every single hard mode boss I can stand in front of forever and not move at all, I only move to try and hit weak point spots and I honestly move out of the toxic pools because that are OP lol. I play Tank Yujin and have the first aid kit mod which is what makes me able to play how I do. No other character to my knowledge can heal so much. They can be as tanky but at some point other characters have to go find health. I just constantly heal myself. I been thinking and making a YT video on my build because i haven't seen a Yujin build on YT like mine.

I only have 1,700 shield but have to disagree shield is great. My shield regen is around 100 per second. When you can't get or find hp drops my sheild heals back to full giving me more damage taking time to eventually get an hp drop. Shields play a bigger roll in Colossal fights. I have teammates going down due to lack of hp drops while I do have 21k hp my almost 2k shield heals to full giving me that extra absorption not needing the hp drops as often.
HP amp is really good with Iron Will, since you loose your shield quicker and get more uptime on that %DEF bonus. Vacation doesn’t give you any more defense just HEB and no offense to your reasoning but HP isn’t defense defense is damage mitigation HD just HB you lose all your HB you go down. You don’t lose your defense at all it’s always there operating I mean against the kind of damage that can be mitigated, clearly some damages are notable with the fence is like a glass of water that you can eventually don’t vote completely defense. It is like a glass of water with the camp on it. They cannot be dumped out. It’s always there, but you got my point doesn’t burn off shield and HP do

I wish tanks were viable here. Unfortunately in tfd, you just need to out damage the bosses. Also, best to build to your descendants major stat between health, def, and shield.
Does anyonce know how to file a complaint. Finally beat devourer after around 20 tries and the game crashed and i lost all my rewatds including the valby piece i needed.
Drop that defense back down to 50k. There is functionally no difference between 50k and 83k. You would need to hit 100k to see a difference. Put more of that into hp if your components have defense on your Ajax.
If I Had to guess, Defense is simply damage reduction vs physical attacks and elemental resistance is the other side of incoming damage reduction. There are mods like 'Autoimmunity' that provide a full package of damage reduction that everyone thinks DEF does now but at a much lower percentage. Now I don't play enough myself to test that so don't listen to me :)
Shield is pretty useless some enemies can 1 shot the shield of you was first with my Viessa shield, def and HP felt squishy then went full def and HP and life became alot easier :)
How does tash man have 7k HP? I guess he has some really high hp external components? I almost maxed out my hp mod, but it only shows about 2k Hp, unless I use the highest Hp external components which bumps it up to about 3.5k
He started playing Genshin impact. Which got him a lot of success that was very hard for him to quit and move on. He’s such a talented guide maker and you can tell he’s enjoying the first ascendant far more than any gatcha game.
You might want to check other Descendants. Bun has like zero hp and defense compared to others. Those same defensive mods would be much higher values. (Like my lv 40 with lv 50 items comparing Bun to Lepic he has almost literally double the defense and hp. Though I guess if you are at the point of soloing hard mode bosses then it's fine, but I'd be surprised if people could solo hard mode bosses.) Are you on a fire reactor intentionally? That might be part of why skill damage is so low. I'm sure you are aware and that was probably just an oops, but you'd want one aligned to both your skill types and ideally a yellow rarity (which usually requires "mounted" weapons I think they call it, where you need said weapon actively equipped in your hands.)
No yellow rarity reactors. You only get the bonuses if you are actively using the weapon it calls out. The minute you switch you lose it. Purple reactors just need the weapon type equipped and not mounted. If you are not gley or leipec, the tamer is the highest boss dps weapon in the game. If you are gley it’s a purple rocket launcher. If you are Leipic you are killing hard mode bosses in 7 seconds with his ultimate. So again, no yellow reactors.
Apparently it's the highest dps weapon. Though that comes at the invisible cost of making you walk horribly slow whenever you are actively shooting / aiming down sights. (So it's really just best for the 'stand still and don't move much' characters.) Maybe not a great pairing for Bun since she wants to be moving. Though earlier today I pretty much set her aside permanently since I noticed Lepic has literally double the defense and hp values on the same mods that boost those. She's suuuupper fragile.
Playing as viessa stacking health and defense and I can stand at hard mode executioners feet the entire fight. Constantly reviving people who are getting one shot by the weakest attacks.

Clarification.. your max isn’t 80% def. All that means is that you can’t have your defenses reduced more than 80 percent. Same with enemies.

The HP and DEF mods aren't optional, they are mandatory for hard mode.

wouldnt 32k be the best since once you get 32k your next 10% damage reduction would be 64k

If you play ajax or kyle you can push to 80/120k def. With Iron will you jump to 160k def. Its the sweet spot for those 2 def character

Yeah just build around armor and health for survivability. Weapons like the tamer, willpower, and thunder cage all can handle most of every content.

You should aim for 40-50K DEF max because of breaking points for the defence % added (steps of 10%) don’t know about Health at this moment.

When you want reroll stats of weapon all caps are on left of the screen (something close to 12%)

If I Had to guess, Defense is simply damage reduction vs physical attacks and elemental resistance is the other side of incoming damage reduction. There are mods like 'Autoimmunity' that provide a full package of damage reduction that everyone thinks DEF does now but at a much lower percentage.
Now I don't play enough myself to test that so don't listen to me :)

Shield is pretty useless some enemies can 1 shot the shield of you was first with my Viessa shield, def and HP felt squishy then went full def and HP and life became alot easier :)
How does tash man have 7k HP? I guess he has some really high hp external components?
I almost maxed out my hp mod, but it only shows about 2k Hp, unless I use the highest Hp external components which bumps it up to about 3.5k

He started playing Genshin impact. Which got him a lot of success that was very hard for him to quit and move on. He’s such a talented guide maker and you can tell he’s enjoying the first ascendant far more than any gatcha game.
I actually found him before he was on D2 and he was doing The Divison.
You might want to check other Descendants. Bun has like zero hp and defense compared to others. Those same defensive mods would be much higher values. (Like my lv 40 with lv 50 items comparing Bun to Lepic he has almost literally double the defense and hp. Though I guess if you are at the point of soloing hard mode bosses then it's fine, but I'd be surprised if people could solo hard mode bosses.)
Are you on a fire reactor intentionally? That might be part of why skill damage is so low. I'm sure you are aware and that was probably just an oops, but you'd want one aligned to both your skill types and ideally a yellow rarity (which usually requires "mounted" weapons I think they call it, where you need said weapon actively equipped in your hands.)
No yellow rarity reactors. You only get the bonuses if you are actively using the weapon it calls out. The minute you switch you lose it. Purple reactors just need the weapon type equipped and not mounted.
If you are not gley or leipec, the tamer is the highest boss dps weapon in the game. If you are gley it’s a purple rocket launcher. If you are Leipic you are killing hard mode bosses in 7 seconds with his ultimate. So again, no yellow reactors.
Genuine question, why is everyone on Tamer? Machine Guns feel terrible to me. Also I think your explanation of DEF isn't accurate.

Apparently it's the highest dps weapon. Though that comes at the invisible cost of making you walk horribly slow whenever you are actively shooting / aiming down sights. (So it's really just best for the 'stand still and don't move much' characters.) Maybe not a great pairing for Bun since she wants to be moving. Though earlier today I pretty much set her aside permanently since I noticed Lepic has literally double the defense and hp values on the same mods that boost those. She's suuuupper fragile.

Playing as viessa stacking health and defense and I can stand at hard mode executioners feet the entire fight. Constantly reviving people who are getting one shot by the weakest attacks.
