I have not played many of the games that people compare TFD to so this explanation is extremely helpful. Also to mention, you can roll firearm attack as one of typically 4 perks on your weapon. If you have a lot of tuning resources it doesn't hurt to roll and then hold some firearm attack% bonuses. Flat damage bonuses are nice but the % bonuses will always scale exponentially as you lvl up.
I would personally say that adding more damage in some way is going to be better than fire rate bonuses until later. Fire rate may give you more damage per second, but it isn't going to improve your damage per reload or damage before you run out of ammo, which can happen in some of the harder fights if you don't have enough damage as a whole team. Very good points other than that, though

Thanks for explaining this so simply . I knew rifling reinforcement was good, but didn’t know how monumentally important base firearm damage was to doing damage in the game . Thanks for this !
I think a thing of note here too, not all guns are created equally. Some mods will benefit very little/almost not at all from Crit mods, and other from Weakpoint mods. All the the mods are multiplying your base value, if you have a base value of 1% crit. You can have a 100% crit mod, but that weapon will still only have 2% crit. Same goes for fire rate too, you can add a fire rate mod to a slow sniper but that isn't gonna do very much even though the tooltip will absolute say you just increased your DPS by a ton. The better the base stats of your weapon, the more you should focus on that attribute, and prioritize that one and in some cases just avoid certain attributes as investing in 1% base crit isn't worth it.
and in case you forget ,you can slot a rune in your gun , so the mods cost a halfcut , but need max gun level and a rare material to do so ,so even more moduls

Don't forget there are different rarity mods that do the same thing but at higher percents. You can view the all mod and where to find them in the"access info" tab then clicking "modules". Then you click view acquisition to see where you can farm it
The dps in the inventory screen is probably meant to allow you to compare base unmodded dps between guns You can see your modded dps in the module screen on the weapon in the top left
I don't know if it has been said, but there is a button called "View Module Stats" on the bottom, that is better view for closer to the real DPS if you had mods setup for that gun in the Weapons List
Yeah, but that's (unless if I'm mistaken) adding to the recoil, not reducing it. So you're doing more damage, but potentially missing more shots if you can't control the recoil well enough.
You can actually mark the slots for a certain brand of mod which decreases by a percentage of the the overall points used for that slot just like warframe. Therefore you can use more mods

Great advices. What we are lacking is a website to show every level of modules. Elemental damage on your weapon it means you have to have multiple weapons with different elemental damage on that because somethings worth one kind of things that other time if you’re going to key on the elemental damage on the web and then you either have planned have multiple versions of it swap outand plan on attacking certain bosses
I hope they don't patch it tbh, little optimisations like animation cancelling are what keeps looter shooters fun. Look at Borderlands 2 for example, so much of the cool stuff you can do in that game is unintended by the devs but they kept it in because it makes the gameplay more interactive.
Fire rate is a good way to increase your damage. But for weapons where ammo is more scarce, it's just ammo dumping and you will run out. Make sure to only use Fire rate on weapons that are more efficient with ammo
You made some Great points.. Make Base Weapon Damage HIGH.. All additional damage.. crit.. crit damage and other Multiiers are based on the Base Damage....!
Make a video on the different weapons and their base stats. Knowing where to find the base stats info and then what weapons actually synergies best well with Crit mods and so on. Some weapons have a higher chance to proc attribute effects and some have very high base crit chance.
saw the same thing last night trying figure out how to apply more status effect to dead bride. upgraded some modes and built around those since they cost more on the gun.
PSA: certain character abilities scale with stats like hp or defense. You can check these in the "descendants" tab. These are very important to pay attention to, characters like Ajax should be built using defense > skill cooldown > skill range > skill damage in that order.
You actually answered a question I was unsure of which will change my layout a little. I thought the attribute buffs applied to classes with the innate attribute. So i thought it would be pointless to add to my Ajax
Some of the things said is wrong. You can have a total of 80 module points. If you use a maxed mod in a slot, it takes up at most 8 points (not all mods can reach level 10) You have 10 mod slots +1 Skillslot +1 secondary/grappleslot (which increases your max module points). So you need about 82 points with maxed mods and fitting slotsymbols in each slot. There is actually interesting behaviour with blue decendant mods. Those increase only one stat, but if you max it, it has 50-100% higher values then purple maxed mods. For weapons mods it depends. The best weapon mod is a purple one that incrases damage while decreasing recoil with a total of +61% damage maxed.
In your weapon equip screen there is a module looking button bottom left next to the heart and = sign button that toggles on adding mod values to display stats. It seems they disable it by default so you can compare weapons by base stats. It only shows it on weapons that have been equipped and last weapon modded stats.
Another thing that I think is good is skill crit rate because the skill crit rate mod when maxed out gets you to 100% skill crit rate which even without building extra crit damage gives a 50% boost to the skills damage compared to it not critting. I am newer to the game than you so probably less experienced but this is what I have found to work well so far.
Technician is not 50% more damage. It is additive to a skill's current modifier. Mouse over the tool tip for the skill to see its modifier. Some are low, some are very high, so value varies a lot.
honestly all the warframe knowledge comes in real handy lmao
This system is way less complicated than Warframe. Warframe where you can crit on your crit while you crit.

Big Like! I'd love more tutorials about this game
PSA: certain character abilities scale with stats like hp or defense. You can check these in the "descendants" tab. These are very important to pay attention to, characters like Ajax should be built using defense > skill cooldown > skill range > skill damage in that order.
Thank you. I needed that little explanation to succeed in progressing! You are a lifesaver!
you explain stuff nicely, i like it : )
This was actually so informational, great to have learnt this early, ive kinda just been leveling random shit up and going with it😂
You actually answered a question I was unsure of which will change my layout a little. I thought the attribute buffs applied to classes with the innate attribute. So i thought it would be pointless to add to my Ajax
Some of the things said is wrong. You can have a total of 80 module points. If you use a maxed mod in a slot, it takes up at most 8 points (not all mods can reach level 10)
You have 10 mod slots +1 Skillslot +1 secondary/grappleslot (which increases your max module points).
Dude totally just saved my build by watching this, I was doing it wrong the whole time
In your weapon equip screen there is a module looking button bottom left next to the heart and = sign button that toggles on adding mod values to display stats. It seems they disable it by default so you can compare weapons by base stats. It only shows it on weapons that have been equipped and last weapon modded stats.
Much appreciated, Tash.
Awesome work, definitely hope they sort out the sheet damage as well.
👌 best video you've ever made for me
