it was great to see a pair of Kara's the dull coloured bird in a garden in Morrinsville some years ago feeding on what was grown there. They are quite able to seek out what they like to eat far from where you would expect to see them

Who is te contact person for Taranaki region? I have been observing birds around the Inglewood area everyday for the last two years and have noticed an increase in population of many birds but haven't noted my observations. I have tried downloading ebird, but having trouble getting started.

This video is for the birds.
We've identified a serious threat to NZ birds - arrived over the last 10-12 centuries.
    Introduced pest. Ever increasing numbers.

I too saw a lot of evidence of over zealous poisoning, using 1080, in the NZ bush over 35years ago. I knew then, that it was a catastrophe in the making. I hoped that I was wrong.... apparently not 😡

4:54 the Brown Teal is not happy about how we have treated New Zealand birds.
Also can I just mention how horrible starlings are?
