Shameless with your no Māori representation or even acknowledgement of tangata whenua as stakeholders. Partnering up with Americans to monitor OUR taonga is a slap in the face to a people who have been observing and interacting holistically with their local environments for 1000 years and for thousands of years across Te Moana Nui a Kiwa. The arrogance of the caucasian is overwhelming no matter how many times it extends its ugly head

it was great to see a pair of Kara's the dull coloured bird in a garden in Morrinsville some years ago feeding on what was grown there. They are quite able to seek out what they like to eat far from where you would expect to see them

This video is for the birds. We've identified a serious threat to NZ birds - arrived over the last 10-12 centuries. Introduced pest. Ever increasing numbers.

I too saw a lot of evidence of over zealous poisoning, using 1080, in the NZ bush over 35years ago. I knew then, that it was a catastrophe in the making. I hoped that I was wrong.... apparently not 😡

  • @expeditionlandcruiser9852

Our green places have become deserts because the people in charge MPI, DOC, etc continue to use toxic poison (1080) as the method of killing pests, which kills everything. Watch the blame game play out as they realise how at fault they are and what a mess they have made. The NZ people need to hold these guys accountable for the damage they are causing. Not only to our native birds, insects fish etc but to the forests which are soaking up these toxic chemicals from the arial drops of 1080 and the breakdown of poisoned carcasses of rats, possums, stoats, deer, pig etc. When they say that they were not aware of the damage they were causing remind them that they are the experts and there is liability when you take a position of authority.
