  • This is the fifth video in a short course where I talk about what a horoscope is, what is in a horoscope, and how to move around it a bit. I also talk about some of the basic tools we use with the horoscope such as planetary periods, sign periods and transits. This is the course for people who are completely new to astrology.

    Wouldn't the Nakshatras be equal in each Sign? As 13.48 x 27 is 363.96 Degrees in total? This would make a :28 min + 13.2 = 13:48

    • @ErnstWilhelm
      @ErnstWilhelm  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A nakshatra is 13 degrees and 20 minutes which comes out to 360 degrees for all 27.

    I am not an astrologer but an ardent lover of astrology.. i liken it to Sacred Geometry.
    So my observation is nothing but just felt to say anyway that I find using Sayana Nakshatra starting from Krittika at Aries 0° is giving me goosebumps inducing insights. It resonates beautifully with my new Vimshottari dasha as well.
    There.. off my chest😅
    I would love to know if anyone has experimented with this arrangement.

      @Priscilla, your comment sounds very intriguing to me. Pardon my ignorance: you mean krittika starting at 0° of "tropical" aries?

    • @fpriscilla
      @fpriscilla 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gd5045 Yes Krittika starting at Tropical 0°Aries..
      I may be mistaken but I think some of Ernst's students have since that time(gosh.. 3 years ago.. time flies😅) adopted this way of looking at nakshatras.. Laura Barat etc.. it will be interesting indeed if this can be incorporated into softwares for the Dasha calculations as well. Or maybe that too has already been done.. I wouldn't know as I don't own any Astrology Software.

    Damn! Everytime you come up with a new interpretation I have no choice but to pick up my college physics textbook and now Galactic center to measure the stars. Is your online free calculator a Galactic plane or Galactic center based calculation?Because when I use Spica or Chitra based Ayanamsa my Sun is in Pushya and when I use your calculation it skips to Ashlesha. Astrology is just giving me a migraine and I feel like I ve to quit as everyday basic notions of age old calculations are debunked which is HARD to comprehend and then going back an rechecking Astronomical and physics evidence in the textbooks.

    Ernst do you think the 3 sets of 9 on the outer circle are ruled or influenced by Uranus Neptune and Pluto? Just a thought. I am a mediocre astrologer with Jupiter and moon in 8th house 5 degrees apart and 4 planets in 5th house so I guess I can figure things out but not always correct. It’s quite confusing as on google it says there are 28 nakshatras.

    I'm wondering why I have many houses in one sign in the divisional charts. like theres sometimes four different houses in one sign

    • @arijoutsilastname5665
      @arijoutsilastname5665 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And then I don't know in which house the planet is in

    • @ErnstWilhelm
      @ErnstWilhelm  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those are the house cusps, so we take the degrees of the house cusps from the birth chart and calculate out their divisional position just as we do for the planets and the ascendant and that is where they fall.

    The information you provided is very useful but I had questions about it. Regarding your calculation preferences - would you say you use the tropical zodiac with sidereal nakshatras with a 27 minute subtraction to lahiri? And if that is the case, would that mean that the beginning of Ashwini nakshatra is currently at 24 degrees Aries?

    I used your chart calculator and found that my Ascendant Nakshatra is Mrigashira pada 1. But all the sites say pada 1 falls in Leo Navamsa. But my Ascendant in D9 is Capricorn. Sorry I’m a bit confused

    Suppose my moon is in rohini and if I increase my moon minutes by 27 minutes , will there be change in padas?
    I know it's a lame question for you...But I am not into technical part if t...
    And also ,lagna pada can change ,right?
    I just have superfluous knowledge...

    • @ErnstWilhelm
      @ErnstWilhelm  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, its possible, a pada is 200 minutes, so in about 1 out of 9 charts adding 27 minutes will increase the pada.
