    Can you do the same with Baltic birch plywood?

    What is the model of that Dove tail jig?
    I'm interested on buying one

    First off, your woodworking skills are off the charts. I’m getting ready to build some slide out shelves with half blind joints for kitchen cabinets. I’m debating over whether to purchase either the Porter Cable 4216 or the Leigh Super 12 jig. The Leigh offers variable settings for the joints and the Porter Cable does not. The price difference is significant between the two - PC $180 and the Leigh at $349. Is the variable setting capability really a game changer for the extra money?

      Thank you! I'm not familiar with that Porter Cable model you mentioned, but the Leigh has a lot more flexibility, especially if want to always maintain a specific drawer height distance in an opening, the Leigh would be better since you can space the pins so you don't have a half pin exposed on the top edge. With the PC OmniJig I'm using, I just size the drawer box down far enough to the next full pin.
      The only thing I'm not sure of it the Leigh in the half-blind configuration will allow you to machine the front and back simultaneously like the Omni Jig, but that's not the end of the world, but it makes it move a little faster.

      I got the 4216 or whatever their base model is called, then added the extra mini dovetail conversion. I'm happy with it and never had a Leigh product, so I can't comment on that.

    Hey what size round-over bit did you use on the inside of the box? Thanks.

      It's a 5/32" originally made by Bosch.

      Got it, thanks. Does it clean up the inside corners pretty well or do you go back with some sand paper?

    • @TheWoodCraftsman
      @TheWoodCraftsman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will still leave a partial square inside corner due to the bearing diameter. A little sanding required, but not much.

    Nice looking drawer boxes. The bottom panel, was it necessary to nail all four sides of this panel? Then you ran them through the table saw after assembly, was this to flush up the tops? Thx

      Thank you. Yes, I absolutely hate a loose drawer bottom that rattles. I've glued in place as well, but by tucking in some 1/4" crown staples, it ensures that there are no gaps. Yes, I build my drawers oversize in height and trim them down so the joints are perfectly even, and so I don't have any exposed half pins. It's just a personal touch. Thanks. Scott

      I too was going to inquire about using staples. Thank you for the explanation.
      Glad to see you’re making videos after a little time away. Hope all is well.
