My main takeaway from the first 2 minutes is that Galvanized Shot should just get fucking fixed at this point.

DE has probably made some headway into fixing gun CO behind the scenes, but I gotta wonder, was it really necessary diverting some of those resources from fixing gun CO into fixing lesser problems like the Xata Whisper + Devouring/Devastating Attrition interaction?

Prime weapons really need to be more unique at the very least, it's crazy how for the past like 4-5 years 99% of prime weapons haven't really left any sort of impact

At the very least, their Warframe specific gimmicks need to be universal or just require any prime frame.

I can totally emphasize... imagine being a creator who understands the game very well and wants to make engaging content... and then you have put the same shit into every weapon, because it is objectively the best choice by far.
If you don't do this, people will be unhappy because you didn't show the best build, but if you do, this is the result. Frustration with the lack of equally viable builds... among other things.

@@RossKyle95problem is it that it doesn’t matter whether your build does 95% of someone else if you modded slightly wrong. If you armor strip you can kill with anything up to 4 digit levels.
DE is very obviously treating Prime Weapons as New/Returning Player weapons. Almost none of them perform differently than a generic weapon of the same type. Yet somehow they slap high MR ranks on them so that the people they're balancing them for can't use them.
Remember when Strun Prime and Magnus Prime came with Nidus, and the former had punchthrough added and the latter got an ammo efficiency perk (That kind of doesn't work on a semi-auto anyway)?
It's so annoying DE didn't continue this and add interesting mechanics to other 'basic' primes.
Fulmin Prime, Acceltra and Akarius didn't need it. Quassus, Cedo and Epitaph won't need it. But I sure do hope the others that come with these recieve some love.
Honestly, the real crime with the Protea Prime update is that we didn't get a Stahlta Prime

I was never a fan of Sai in my edgy teen age years. 25 years or so later, I for some reason really like these now, so yeah, I'm definitely using mine for that reason alone and am glad they don't suck.
Also I'm an MR26 who's way behind in terms of power, so the MR requirements are irrelevant to me, but the weapon isn't really a downgrade for me.
But I really do appreciate it every time I hear you think from a new player perspective. It's very relevant and important criticism and if MR requirements aren't at least roughly correlated to power, they are meaningless and should be changed.
Started playing again recently and was reminded I had no weapon slots and no patient to evaluate whether all the crap I had been building at the time was worth keeping. I then realized the game is so old now that it just has too many weapons so they invariably will end up feeling identical.
To be fair plat has never been easier to earn. Pretty much every activity in the game can get you a couple dozen per hour. One slept on method (because it's insanely boring) is doing mirror defense and selling secondary encumber. You make anywhere from 45 to 90 plat per hour depending on drops and teammates

How does velox have 27 base damage is beyond me. Fucking furis has 28 as incarnon upgrade. Dual tox is 50. Angstrum 50. Is 27 base some sort of a joke?
It shoots really fast with a large magazine to compensate for the lower damage, and has a high status. It performs fine, I stacked heat inherit on it and a bane mod in addition to what he had because my Diriga stacks viral.
It's not perfect, and there's dozens of pistols I'd say to farm before it, but I didn't hate using it.
I honestly don't need prime weapons to be the height of power in the game since it makes more sense that the things you have to do later game grinds to get, incarnons and kuva/tenet weapons, are stronger than the thing you can outright buy. But, I would love if they used them to experiment way more with utility/quirky effects themed around either enhancing what their associated prime warframe focuses on, or helping fill some gaps in the warframe's kit. Basically I want the Pyrana Prime to be the baseline. Not insanely strong, but definitely unique and fun. Have we gotten any Pyrana Prime tier special bonuses on any other prime weapons? Cernos Prime I guess.
Ballistica Prime can summon ghosts. Of course it has to actually kill someone to do that (good luck), and the ghosts aren't actually useful at all, but it exists and isn't just another 'automatic pistol with less effective dps than several Market weapons'.
Do you count the Gotva Prime? Figures that a prime without a 'regular' variant would have the best* gimmick.

for a heavy attack only build it does not matter much since it forces slash procs, but yeah okina still seems a decent bit better for general play
Okina is objectively the better weapon in basically every way besides it has a tiny bit less range. That said, mileage may vary on actually bothering to set it up.

I actually really like the Okina Prime. They look cool and they get it done just fine in non-endgame stuff. Good enough for me.
It helps that they are now the best dual daggers in the game.

I remember I had the okina prime in circuit and I 2 hit KOed level 900 Corrupted Vor without armor strip, even though there were decrees it was still funny cuz not many weapons I rolled can do that
Should really give secondary empowered a try on Velox, or weapons in general, no the 750 damage dosent scale but you can scale how often you proc it with fire rate and status, makes most low damage and moderate status secondaries that can get enough fire rate pretty danm good.
Kompressa is a great example of how that arcane can turn trash into gold.
I feel like there should be some upgrade system specfically for prime weapons. I dont know if they literally all should go the Incarnon route or something more unique were you can get them to level 40 like Kuva weapons but pick certain stat upgrades along the way. But simply releasing a "stronger" version of a base weapon is just boring.
The prime Okinas are one of my favorite melee weapons. Love how they feel and look

One of the bigger issues you seem to have is them not doing enough for the MR requirement.
As someone who is mr28 with a couple thousand hours in the game, I do actually enjoy when different, cool looking weapons come out. The fact that both of these weapons were able to deal with over level 200 SP enemies is pretty great, considering we don't really need more than that except for a few edge cases. I think a lot of people would be willing to forma a pair of sais over a comparatively boring looking fang prime, I know I sure am
I think what this video hits on more than the PA weapons is the fact that MR requirements and how we mod weapons has become quite stale and outdated and hopefully the elemental rework does something to fix the latter of those two issues. Just my personal thoughts on the video and the topics presented within
I get that you were going for a funny bit but it's a disservice to the Okina prime to compare it to the Fang whenever the Okina has 60% slash weighting and the Fang has 15%.
They force slash in all the important places so it really doesn't matter almost at all

@@Brozime No, forced procs on some of the hits doesn't decrease the value of proccing slash on all the hits because slash isn't a status with a proc cap like Gas. You can also potentially proc double the slash if you roll a regular proc on the same hit as the forced proc- who doesn't want double damage, right? Plus, the moveset has lots of high multipliers on other hits that would be more valuable to turn into slash procs than the hits that actually force the slash.
Also duplicate exists for abusing this further
MCGamerCZ had a video on the Velox, and it killed mich faster using either Encumber or Empowered than this version with Flare.
You can just use Wrathful Advance on exalted melees like Baruuk's 4. Sure you run negative duration on Baruuk, but that isnt a problem when enemies cease to exist.
The first five minutes were painful for everyone, Brozime sounded like he was about to lose it
Hey Brozime, you *can* actually make use of the full 12x combo on both heavy attacks (1 and 2, or "standing" and "sliding"), the combo only gets consumed after the second attack, if you chain them properly. However, last time I checked this was bugged with auto melee - so no holding the heavy attack button, or it'll take your combo away after the first attack.
2:00 it’s kinda sad that almost every gun in the game has basically the same build, there are so meny guns and so meny mods and most of them are just trash that never gets used.
I blame DE for not balancing gimmicks like the Diplos alt fire for example...
Many weapons that are interesting on paper but are ok at best.
I think the Velox are ok with a hybrid build but they shine with cascadia empowered or encumber build, its just, like you pointed out for MR13 they don't compare to the nemesis status beam weapons or powerhouse incarnons, but considering those take effort and timing to aquire and sometimes just having an absurde amount of DAKKA is what one craves, they can work for early steelpath no issue.
I just hoped they would increase its Ammo efficiency passive 20% for everyone or 40% on Protea is just to little in face of the firerate, aside Arcane Pistoleer and helminth ammo efficiency exist if one wanted an good amount of that stat.
They both have problems and they're easy to summarize:
Velox Prime: Knell Prime/Magnus Prime/Akstiletto Prime all exist and do its ammo gimmick better. I'm not even joking when I say the Akstiletto Prime has similar stats, a gun from 2016! v.v
Okina Prime: Fang Prime and Nepheri exist and while the forcing of ground finishers is nice to speed up the process of building Crescendo, the Furax Wraith exists and imo is better for Secondary Outburst with its 45% fire rate for secondaries mod.
(I'm honestly surprised they didn't give the Okina Prime a throwing heavy attack, the Quassus does this so the animations are already there, seeing how Sai weapons are often used as throwing weapons in movies. Would have given the weapon a bit of spice, but nope o.O)
It's fine, not every new gun needs to be special or meta. The Velox was basically an obligatory addition due to being a signature weapon, all it needs to is to be pretty and just worth enough for keeps (the cost of a weapon slot, 6p), which I couldn't say for the normal variant. I'll likely accidentally gather all the parts while farming for Protea.
One thing that maybe could've happened was extending on the special ammo efficiency feature, making it so it so an efficiency counter goes up by doing parkour and remains for a while whike standing still, and a brief boost to fire rate for every kill. That would've been fun.
maybe it's just me, but this weapons reload reloads faster when you empty the mag as compared to when you reload with some bullets left in

I think now that we have incarnons, new prime weaponry will always be either very niche or be straight up mastery fodder (unless they have an incarnon version), because if they would add a prime weapon good enough to compete with incarnons, it might completly render circuit somewhat obsolete, especially considering prime weapons are way easier to farm compared to incarnons
The main draw for Incarnons is “making weapons that aren’t good great”. People didn’t know what the fuck a Torid was until that incarnon dropped. The Burston was a bullshit burst rifle most people would level once and never touch, and now it’s meta. The whole incarnon system fucks power creep in the ass.

I was interested in velox prime because of its passive and im wondering if u can put energized munitions ability on gauss and stack it with the 20% that the gun has and have 95% efficiency for neatly infinite ammo… or truely infinite on protea

Velox jas been my main secondary, its a decent when u use it with protea. also put on recoil reduction otherwise don't put too much fire rate mod. For velox prime i use that for primer ONLY whenever heavy unit spawn.
I will only use this build on my Rhino TMNT Raph cosplay like you mentioned
I truely believe we have been spoilt by the Incarnon weapons. All weapons no matter old or new we are always conciously or unconciously compare them with those incarnon weapons. Some more most of those Incarnon weapons have insane Riven disposition which made most of the non Incarnon weapon feel inferior. So unless DE release future weapons with ground breaking features or damage, players will always disappointed with those future new weapons.
I mainly tried to compare these to things players can get before them things like the Kuva Nukor and Tenet Cycron are accessible fairly early and other weapons like the Epitaph also outperform the VeloxP pretty significantly. The Incarnons are way at the end of progression and of course are better but really early options being far better choices just makes Velox a poor investment of time/forma and Okina is mostly just a choice if you didn't do anything with Fang as it's a marginally better weapon available slightly later though I'd say Fang is itself too high MR
It’s a shame really how far the power in this game have left *prime guns* in the past. Most Tenno weapons will never see themselves out the arsenal unless gimmick or an average incarnon (whenever more are released) lifts them.
Maybe it’s time secondaries receive their “hunter munitions” just to get those 100+ guns into the pool even though it’ll power boost those top 10 weapons.
They already do. It's called Hemmorage and it works on Impact Procs instead of crits, but it also has 2x proc chance if fire rate is below 2.5.
Not terrible since there's LOTS of impact sidearms, but most people mod Impact chance practically down to 0.

They shouldve increased the the crit chance on the velox
i think secondary encumbered might just be better then flare? has u are always getting quite a few extra procs for more then 480% (only needing 4 extra procs to be the same has flare) and when u get more it ends up being better (with interesting power like magnetic and when the new blast comes out it will be ok not great but ok and useful of deep dives)
dont have the weapon but i use secondary encumbered and gunCO on most of my fast fire pistols and does ok to good in they have ok damage in form of say slash like this weapon does have can be worth trying at least
I wish prime weapons still had unique abilities or traits. I feel like that is something that DE got lazy with over the years unfortunately.

Okinas upgrade still follows the same style attributes. You can do mid low set ups with no primed range mode, and with just 3m range plus attack speed you get a slash proc dance. Velox ammo efficiency and status chance is gold at mid low protea builds. Just add some more efficiency+ magazine capacity and you can enjoy a different playstyle. In Elite archymedia there is no bad weapon.
The stats make no sense compared to okina prime which outright powercrept fang prime velox have way less damage and crit buffs from normal so why ???

S on his tier lists is reserved for frames who are both exceedingly strong and also used a ton. Protea isn’t used by enough people for that, which is also why he doesn’t put say Octavia up there
Every content creator under the sun that has Secondary Encumbrance and says use Flare where the weapon has a base build that can easily eclipse 100% status always makes me laugh.
Especially when you mention having 2 green shards, because anything without armor will just disappear while having every disease known to man. 70 clip at 100% status / 24% random status from secondary proc leading into Galv Shot? Pleaaaaaase, velox is uniquely positioned because of the super high status. Add punch through via mod or riven to clear rooms. Okina are a great sidegrade to meta slashers that arent incarnon. Neither weapon is bad and when properly modded can actually can be a good end game option if you arent a meta slave.
If you farmed Encumber and don’t have a better weapon for it than this you are a fool. Flare is the more available option everyone should have access to because it’s mega cheap and trivial to farm without even needing Steel Path

I was really hoping for a Xoris Prime instead of a dumb dual dagger prime. It just made sense to me. You need the Xoris to farm regular Protea.
Xoris Prime makes even less sense than Okina Prime.

Everything is Prime Junk once you get the Zariman Incarnons. Just give us prime weapons with cool gimmicks like the Ballistica, so we can at least have some fun with them (in. in star chart. I guess. I'm a solo player so it's not like Deep Archimedea is playable for me anyway).

I know you said Galvanized shot/savvy is bugged but I would still recommend using the new radiation mods for them. It is a helping towards breaking the monotony these types of builds are prone towards creating without sacrificing too much dps. The secondary effect of the melee radiation mod is terrible though so don't use it there.
With that being said, melee is a lot more enticing. But your build still baffles me. First of all, put amalgam organ shatter on if you are going to be spending forma to enable tennokai! It is what makes tennokai remotely usable and hardly hurts the build. Or, remove a forma and don't burn a forma and exilus weapon adapter (+1 forma) just to use tennokai! Yes Dual daggers sucks in the heavy attack department but you know where it is good in the heavy attack department? Wind-up speed! 0.5s with Amalgram organ shatter reducing puts it better than most other melees and tennokai's heavy attacks helps out a ton for weapons that have lifted status. Tennokai mod, yeah opportunity reach's is one of the three only usable tennokai mods imo so good option going with that one. I prefer dreamer's wrath for more consistent hits so v exilus polarity is advised if needed, can also use discipline's merit if you want to more accurately spam it.
Melee arcanes, I love using melee duplicate for my melees it is good all-around option but I can see why people might use others. And the elemental combos, Toxin and radiation seriously? How often are you actually making use of that heavy attack efficiency stat as well? Remove gladiator might and focus radon to put in a more appropriate elemental set-up with some 60/60 mods, this would allow you to put in amalgam organ shatter as well without burning yet another forma into this weapon just to make tennokai usable.
But right now this weapon isn't my focus because they are some of the most plain prime weapons we've gotten so far. Right now, I am experimenting heavily with what you can do with the Quassus and oh boy when its prime come out with Xaku Prime I better not be seeing people sleep on it when it comes out.
Take-Away: This bozo has no clue what double daggers do! Disregard the trash build on offer.

Strangely, you did not do your usual "required" items like Umbra forma, prime sure-footed, and armor stripping that you do for almost every one of your builds. And every weapon "can use more damage", Sherlock or captain obvious.

Come on, you do this for your job and you don't even want to discuss the uses of GunCO or even _try_ to think of a different build than the bog standard heat one? This weapon is great with Encumbered and Empowered. Very high base status chance, high fire rate, it's a perfect candidate. And the whole _reason_ why Encumbered is decent is because of GunCO. It isn't even that complicated, seriously. It's actually pretty damn consistent. Hitscan = Additive, Projectile = Multiplicative, Radial = Nothing. The only weapons that GunCO is truly "bugged" on are incarnons, due to the wonky way the mods interact with the evolution bonuses (or don't, as the case may be).
You act like there is no reason whatsoever to use a weapon if a (ostensibly) better one exists, as if this game about building and using weapons would be satisfying at all if I just kept using my favorite one every time. A weapon doesn't have to be the "new meta" to deserve to exist. And with newer game modes like the Circuit and EDA coming out where free choice isn't an option, the value of having a large collection of "okay" weapons is greatly enhanced. Which, I think, was the point of creating those modes in the first place, to force players like you to engage with the central premise of the whole damn thing.
If we didn't get weapons like this one, the power creep would be worse than it already is and then you're really stuck, because as it is now your new weapon is only "okay", but the other way makes every single weapon that ISN'T the new one into "straight garbage". Give DE a little credit, they've been at this for a while you know.
DE put themselves in this situation with stuff like Incarnons and Helminth. Powercreep is all over the place and some players will just keep asking for more.

Galvanized shot is better than hornet strike on almost every weapon especially including outsourcing priming from a companion or other weapon 😂

@@ExcaliburGT Not only, depending on the weapon, the way the damage is calculated changes entirely. Regular weapons included. You might no count it as a bug, but I do.
