Eddie is, IMO, one of the most heroic characters in the Jurassic series. Drove straight towards two t-rexes, honking his car horn, which made them take their baby back to the nest and gave him time to secure a rope for his team, then when the rexes came back, he never took his foot off the gas or tried to ditch the car. This is a depiction of heroism the new movies are missing, Alan Grant helping kids he doesn't know and Eddie Carr giving his life not because they're trained Navy Seals or they want to atone for some past sin, but because they're genuinely good people in a bad situation doing their best.
Apparently the Japanese people running away in San Diego were yelling something along the lines of "I left Japan to get away from this sort of nonsense", referring to Godzilla.
There's actually a scene that got cut from the movie where Ludlow was drunk (Celebrating capturing the dinosaurs) and he fell on the baby T-rex and broke its leg (It wasn't Roland who did it). And at the end of the movie, the adult T-rex breaks Ludlow's leg (While pulling him off the stairs in the ship's cargo hold) and then lets the baby T-rex finish Ludlow off. It's poetic justice, if you think about it. Also, at 26:15, the part where the compy bites and tugs on Dieter's lip was actually improvised by the actor himself. And the glasses guy at 37:02 who gets snatched by the T-rex is the movie's screenwriter David Koepp! :)
what I love about this film is that it all goes back to Malcolms chaos theory from the 1st movie. So many little things and the dominos fall. Malcolms rush shaved off 3 days off eddies deadline making them not able to fully test and prep the gear. idk how prepared you can be if they didn't even know they were going to dino island lol. Not to mention ingen would've gotten there before they left if they kept the old schedule meaning they could've gotten all the animals they wanted off the island by the time they got there. Who knows what would've happened to sarah. Kelly sneaking on to the trip. We can't interact but sarah interacts showing how defensive/territorial the animals are. Also sarah took eddies camera instead of the one she had, so theoritically she could've gotten out the nest scott free further enhancing her ego i would say and not having the fear/respect towards the dinos. Nick seeing sarah interact so he decided to save/nurture the baby. the groups sabotage of the hunter camp cutting off all future communication, so they have to head into raptor territory to find some. Them moving the infant cause he rex's territory to expand. Sarah keeping the bloody jacket further elevated it as the rexs obviously are gonna investigate the blood scent as its their infant. Nick taking the shells from Rolands gun, causing the huge amount of deaths, when in theory if roland got the shot off the other rex probably would've left after its partner died ending the "attack" which wasn't an attack. Dang I forgot about rolands 2nd in command deeter, yeah him messing with the compy speaks for himself, if he never did that he never would've separated and no search party would've been sent out meaning roland would've been there at the camp the whole time, maybe he would've known the rex's were tracking them.
And just think, I used to think JP2 and JP3, were by far, badly written, and the worst films of the Jurassic Park franchise. Until the new movies were made. Those make JP2 and JP3 look like masterpieces of cinema.
She is supposed to be an expert in the behavior of predators and it's mentioned how far away the T'rex can pick up a scent from yet she is still wearing a jackwt covered in the blood of the baby T'rex. So much for expertise.
While always questioning why she kept the bloody jacket - I never got past the fact she wanted to touch the young Stego and a scene later is griping about only being there to observe - so I didn't even consider her being a 'behavioral expert'... Turns out being educated, or book smart, does not directly translate to being wise, or experienced.
I always assumed she kept the jacket on purpose to screw over the EnGen people, knowing the T-Rex would eventually show up and cause chaos. I don’t think she expected the T-Rex to be able to sneak into camp without no one at all noticing tho, but that’s more on EnGen cause they literally should have had multiple people on watches throughout the night.
In the original Jurassic Park novel, the character of John Hammond was portrayed very differently; exceedingly mean to those in his employ and obsessed with money - not the kindly grandfather as portrayed in the film - and the novel character suffered the same fate as Dieter did in this film: being overwhelmed and eaten alive by Compsognathus as everyone else was evacuating Isla Nublar. Likewise, Ian Malcolm died in the first novel, but Jeff Goldblum's portrayal of the character was so popular the studio demanded he be in the sequel. As a result, when Michael Crichton wrote the second novel, he re-introduced Malcolm paraphrasing Mark Twain saying, "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."
"I think most people who don't know much about Dinosaurs still know about Velociraptors" Yes Because of Jurassic Park xD Before Jurassic Park Dinosaurs weren't really in the public much
24:20, Yeah, people know about velociraptors specifically because of Jurassic Park, so people IN the narrative not knowing about them makes sense. Add to that most times private armies like these are just ex soldiers taking a job, so them not knowing much of anything makes more sense.
Since no one has mentioned this... During the T-Rex going wild in San Diego scenes, look again at the posters at the Blockbuster store. You'll see made up movie posters with real actors names and faces. Tsunami Sunrise starting Tom Hanks, Jack and the Behnstack staring Robin Williams, and King Lear staring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Also screenwriter, David Koepp, makes a cameo while T-Rex is still rampaging. He's the guy running away from the T-Rex and can't get into the building with the locked doors. Then the T-Rex eats him. And lastly, Mr Steven Spielberg makes a quick cameo. When Malcolm and Sarah are asleep on the couch, after the whole T-Rex San Diego rampage. On the right side of the TV, when the news is mentioning the T-Rex being shipped back to the Isla Sorna, you'll see a very quick, blink and you'll miss it, pic of Steven Spielberg wearing a blue and white jacket. Since Steve Spielberg totally changed the ending from the book, looks like during the San Diego portion, they just decided to have fun with it. Not sure why these Easter Eggs were placed, other than to join in on the fun.
SS Venture is a King Kong reference, the asian guys running from the rex is a Godzilla reference and they refilmed THAT part to have the film crew in place of the asian men because they wanted a keepsake from the movie, spielberg reluctantly agreed.
32:40 "wow, you idiots" it's not mentioned in the movie but it's a subplot in the book that a prion disease akin to Mad Cow Disease/Creutzfeldt-Jakob is endemic to the dinosaurs on the island, so the dinosaurs in general and the Velociraptors in particular are all very young, unsocialized, and hyper-aggressive. However, an island of dinosaurs with brain damage and early onset dementia wouldn't have mixed well with John Hammond's message at the end that the dinosaurs would be fine if left to fend for themselves, which might be why it was discarded.
A character in the film's universe wouldn't necessarily know what a Velociraptor is at that time. WE know about Raptors to the degree that we do because of the first Jurassic Park book and film. These people are living the events. And knowledge of the disaster at the Park is sparse and need-to-know at the time of this film.
"How many Sarah's do you think are on this island??" Well, I guess 2 this time! There is actually an extended scene of Roland, where he fist fights a drunken tourist who was sexually harassing a server that really broadens his character. Spielberg went all out with the ending in the city, that was never part of the story but hey. Steven Spielberg has the final Lost Word. 🦖
Roland, the head hunter guy is my absolute favorite character in this movie. He's not exactly a good guy but he's absolutely not a villain either, and his final words in the movie is just great writing imo
The only reason we know about Velociraptors, and many other dinosaurs, today is because of these movies. Before the 1990ies not many people cared about or knew about dinosaurs.
The velociraptors from the films and the Michael Crichton novel aren't even velociraptors, they're deinonychus, Crichton just thought raptor was a cooler sounding name.
The Toronto Raptors got there name because of these movies. Won the fan voting, during a mascot naming poll when Toronto was chosen by the NBA for an expansion team.
@@mikewhite6138 That's not it at all. Crichton chose the name because one of the sources he used for the novel was a book by Greg Paul a famed paleo artist. At the time Paul tried to make a practice catch on that grouped very similar species under one genus name. Velociraptor mongoliensis was discovered decades before Deinonychus antirrhopus so he chose to rename Deinonychus as Velociraptor and make it Velociraptor antirrhopus. However by the time the novel was published--and especially by the time of the original movie--Paul abandoned his efforts. Spielberg chose to retain the novel classification because he thought it sounded better.
24:13 - 24:25 Keep in mind that these movies did A LOT to make some dinos like Velociraptors much more mainstream. How many different types of dinos can you really name? Most of them likely came from these movies and popularized because of them.
Hello. Lycine is an amino acid. There is such a small fraction of plants (and no animals) that do not have complete amino acids in them. No animal foods are missing lycine. Gosh!!!
I've had so many debates with friends that Vince Vaughan's character Nick is the true villain of this film. This film has so many flaws, but I do love this film as a guilty pleasure.
So I have to point out that there are several predators that will indeed kill for more than food. It's not something unique to humans. I must admit, I'd consider killing a T rex more interesting than climbing a mountain.
YES!! BEST SEQUEL IN THE FRANCHISE! At first, I hated this movie because Alan Grant, Sam Neill, was not in the movie, as the actor was too busy working on EVENT HORIZON and the Merlin NBC Miniseries, both released in 1997. There's an extended version of the movie that airs in TV, with 2 deleted scenes that were filmed but cut: Peter Ludlow, John Hammond's nephew, takes control of INGEN, and has Hammond fired after the Isla Nublar Incident in 1993. Roland Tembo's original introduction where he meets up with an old friend of his Ajay Sindhu, in a bar in Mombasa, Kenya. He then beats the hell out of a rude tourist harassing the locals. Ajay then asks if Roland is interested in the expedition to Isla Sorna. Roland says, "Ajay, go up to my ranch, take a look around the trophy room, and tell me what kind of quarry you think could possibly be any interest to me."
Rolands monologue added so much to the film. Bc in a short span it sets up their history. Roland even went on to counter Ajs comment that they've always had great success which roland replies we were was a firing squad essentially it was to easy. There was no thrill, no challenge. That it was okay if the animal got away/won. Not enough escapes or close calls. Cut to later in the film you see how affected he is when he says Aj didn't make it, he got his trophy but at what cost.
Like its predecessor, this was adapted from the Michael Crichton novel of the same name, though more changes were made. The actor playing Peter Ludlow portrayed Cowboy in Full Metal Jacket
Eddie is the real MVP of this movie haha. Roland, the big game hunter is one of my favorite characters in this movie, he has a multi layered character arc and has depth even for the little screen time he has. Ludlow,'s death actually was similar to the book version of John Hammond's death In the Jurassic Park book. The book came first and the movie is adapted from it and in it, Hammond is a much worse person, similar to his nephew in this. The book is well worth a read as it's quite different overall from the movie, there's also a Lost World novel as well, but it was made to kind of tie in with the movie, but somehow the two are very different again.
Just in case you didn't reallize. The kids are the killers in these movies. The only dinosaur killed in JP1 (that would be dead by following logical thinking) was the Raptor that was put in the freezer by Tim and Lex. In this movie, the only dinosaur killed was the Raptor that got kicked by Kelly ;)
So yeah guys, in this movie InGen was in finantial problems. Because of the Hammond quote "spare, no expenses" he basically had bet all the company's money on theJurassic Park, that we saw it totally failed. Then this guy his nephew, tried to rescue the company by the park on San Diego, that also failed absolutely, so InGen broke, went to Bankrupt. The company was bought by an indian billionaire named Masrani who's was a Hammond's dream fan, but u'll see that in the next movies.
**Unlucky Bastard gets eaten by T-Rex** "You think he's dead?" No, of course he's not, he was at my Bar Mitzvah! X3 . . . I'm kidding, I'm Roman Catholic, Christians don't have Bar Mitzvahs XD Edit: We have Confirmations and how the Hell is Animal Control planing to control a T-Rex?! They're like Screw this, we don't get paid enough for this 💩 XD Edit: "Don't kil me Mr. T-Rex, I was supposed to make money off of you!" Next time hire some strippers! XD
The Hunter is a great character that has some deleted scenes that show him in a more positive light (defending a waitress from some rude men for example). He is more good guy than bad imo.
This trilogy definitely fell prey to the “people loved the first one let’s make the second one ten times bigger than the first oh shit people didn’t like that let’s actually make the third one a great movie” pipeline so people don’t like this one as much but (bias be damned) this is still a real good movie 😂 it’s a little out there and you’re not sure what it’s doing sometimes and it’s a little boisterous and lacks some subtlety but looking back on it now 27 years later it’s a cool example of that era of film
I'm sorry, but if a Tyrannosaurus rex (or any predator) stuck its head in my tent while I'm asleep, I'd be pissing/shitting myself. Also, the little green dinosaur is a carnivorous species called Compsognathus.
There's a deleted scene that introduces the hunter. he's drinking in a bar when a bunch of rich frat boy guys start harrassing the waitress then he punches them out with one hand tied behind his back
The opening scene actually happens in the first Novel. And these Dinosaurs actually have a major role in that book. Won’t spoil it but you should read it.
@@TonyTigerTonyTiger it is not the length it is the height. It is not nearly the height of the film animals and actually has way less mass as well. Achillobator is closest to all measurements.

15:28 In a deleted scene, the reason why the baby T-Rex has a broken leg 🦵 😢 and is wailing out in pain is because John Hammond's dirt bag of a nephew (Peter Ludlow) 😠😡 while drunk 🥴, kicked/stomped on the poor thing's leg 🥺😣😔! He treats the dinosaurs 🦕 🦖 like they're objects to be used for profit 📈, and not the _living creatures_ that they *are* 😠😡!
It certainly explains why the baby T-Rex was hissing and growling at him (Peter Ludlow) on the boat 🚢, and the father T-Rex most likely put two and two together that he was the cause of all the emotional and physical pain that their family had to endure for the past few days 🤔🙄😒🤨. Before Ludlow can escape from the cargo hold, he bites down onto his leg enough to make him bleed and likely have broken bones 🦴, in a whole lot of pain not too proud to beg for mercy 😏. And the baby T-Rex is given the honor of finishing off the little weasel, as the father T-Rex watches proudly at his little boy 🤗😉👍😌.
John Hammond is at least likable in the films, particularly the first movie. In the book he's straight up a greedy villain that gets his comeuppance. Also, Malcolm dies in the first book from his injuries. The author changes his mind, and he's alive again in book 2. Super weird.
24:16 .. surprised because some people doesn't know velociraptors ? well .. there are 3 times more people doesn't even know where is India located in the map .. and some others think that Canada is in africa .. and they think Florida is a country .. so i don't think raptors are something more important to know lol
Please STOP RIGHT THERE! The rest of the films are one worse than the other, "Dominion" is unwatchable because it is so bad and disrespectful to the franchise, characters and fans!...

X3 . . . I'm kidding, I'm Roman Catholic, Christians don't have Bar Mitzvahs XD
Edit: We have Confirmations and how the Hell is Animal Control planing to control a T-Rex?! They're like Screw this, we don't get paid enough for this 💩 XD
Edit: "Don't kil me Mr. T-Rex, I was supposed to make money off of you!" Next time hire some strippers! XD
The Hunter is a great character that has some deleted scenes that show him in a more positive light (defending a waitress from some rude men for example). He is more good guy than bad imo.
37:00 the Japanese guy apparently says something along the lines of "I left Japan to get away from this!" Lol
VERY FUNNY THE LOST WORLD : JURASSIC PARK (1997 ) FILM - SARAH'S FIRST TIME WATCHING -MOVIE REACTION !!!!
I was, heavily, into dinosaurs as a kid and, relatively, quite knowledgeable, but I had never heard of velocirapters until Jurassic Park.
Eddie is played by Richard Schiff, who also played Odin in God of War Ragnarok.
Are you implying that the third one was good?...
the third movie is by no means good, it isn't even better than this one.
I'm sorry, but if a Tyrannosaurus rex (or any predator) stuck its head in my tent while I'm asleep, I'd be pissing/shitting myself. Also, the little green dinosaur is a carnivorous species called Compsognathus.
Actually they are Compsognathus, it was a misspeak on Burke's part to say Procompsognathus.

I'm going on the book info, but I'll change it.
@@Rainbow.Pegacorn.Cosplay ah, the book. Apologies.
@@scottb3034
No, you're good, dude
There's a deleted scene that introduces the hunter. he's drinking in a bar when a bunch of rich frat boy guys start harrassing the waitress then he punches them out with one hand tied behind his back
Isla Sorna (and in turn Isla Nublar)
Are fictional islands that are supposed to be near Costa Rica
My favorite film in the ENTIRE franchise
The opening scene actually happens in the first Novel. And these Dinosaurs actually have a major role in that book. Won’t spoil it but you should read it.
You both are looking fantastic! Loving all the uploads lately!🩵
This movie is great in my opinion. Even thou its got its flaws. But the rest of the movies sadly dont get better then the first 2.
24:22 The "velociraptors" in the Jurassic Park movies are not velociraptors: they are Deinonychus.
they are more of a frankenstein hybrid of dromaeosaurs with the closest analogue being Achillobator...NOT Deinonychus which is still too small.
@@scottb3034 " Deinonychus antirrhopus. This species, which could grow up to 3.4 meters (11 ft) long,"
That is big enough.
@@TonyTigerTonyTiger it is not the length it is the height. It is not nearly the height of the film animals and actually has way less mass as well. Achillobator is closest to all measurements.
This was a more adventure type film love Ian Malcolms character he made this movie fun as did a lot of the fun lines and moral gathers and hunters
Love the reactions! You guys should have TONS of subs!
Sarah is gonna freak out on part 3...
Got this movie on dvd 📀

Subbed and notifications set to all so I never miss a drop now (please do all jurassic world movies too pretty please). Have you guys seen any marvel at all, loki is like the greates tv show ever from marvel and really worth falling into the marvel universe to get there. If you do watch marvel dont forget agents of shield another tv show that you have to see. Also quick note sarah harding is the daughter of dr harding the guy with the suck triceratops in the first movie
The 3t one is the best of all of them.
I didnt know Sarah got starred in the Lost World lol
I have a request for you can you react to King Kong 2005 movie please.
I watch all 6 films I enjoy all of them
John Hammond is at least likable in the films, particularly the first movie. In the book he's straight up a greedy villain that gets his comeuppance.
Also, Malcolm dies in the first book from his injuries. The author changes his mind, and he's alive again in book 2. Super weird.
Every death in this movie was caused by Sarah Harding and Nick van Owen!
24:16 .. surprised because some people doesn't know velociraptors ? well .. there are 3 times more people doesn't even know where is India located in the map .. and some others think that Canada is in africa .. and they think Florida is a country .. so i don't think raptors are something more important to know lol
✌️🍿
Wait until you see Jurassic World 🌎
😎👍
Awesome reaction/ can you please watch a movie called LADDER 49.
Watch jurassic park 3 from 2001
This why you never feed wild animals
Just here to provide a hot take: I much prefer JP III to Lost World
Prepare to hate it when you get around to watching JP 3, the worst movie in the series.
Terrible life choices, really; the movie
Please STOP RIGHT THERE!
The rest of the films are one worse than the other, "Dominion" is unwatchable because it is so bad and disrespectful to the franchise, characters and fans!...
Please continue and build your own opinion. The other films have their fans.
Always someone hating... they're all really good and worth watching. Each with their pros and cons. But none are worth skipping out on *except* maybe the last one. But they're all worth watching once.
@@Galiant2010 ........
I'm not hating, I'm just being realistic!
You yourself don't recommend the last film, so I can supposedly call you a hater too, right?
How exaggerated...
@@sob.controle.9716 No, you misunderstand. You are TELLING your opinion like it's fact. I'm merely presenting my opinion as an opinion.
@@Galiant2010 ......
And isn't it a fact that the other films are worse than these two?
