There should be an angled bevel cut on the outside for most pick guards which shows the inner layers. that's a trickier cut. info on that would be nice. THX
Yes this! I assume that is a different bit.
I think benchtop router with a chamfer bit would be a better option to do that operation in a much faster way.

Always cut all of the inner detail before making the final outline cut.
