This album helped me find strength. It really did. Depression sucks, suicidal thoughts suck, but whathever happens I will NOT die on my knees. I will fight this battle for as long as I can, I will be brave and I will not surrender. I will not give up, because that's the path I've chosen and my fear will not lead me astray.

      No truer words spoken, Brother/sister.
It's an on going battle. It's okay to get tired and take a rest. But there comes a time when you have to dig yourself out of the hell you're in, and scream violently defiant, and tell all of it that you will NOT BACK DOWN. You REFUSE to accept the shit surrounding you. Get the fuck up, Dust yourself off. If you need to break shit that no longer serves you, then just fucking do it.
      Get mad.
Break those god damned chains. Spread those scorched wings, and keep screaming, until your focused. By then, you'll have the attention and fear you need. Now breathe again.
Fight your ass off. You got this, my dude.

I am a huge fan of King Crimson's "Discipline" album, and to me "Fear Inoculum" is the modern-day "Discipline". Tool has always took KC's blueprint of repetitive, hypnotic, math-rock riffs from that record and adapted/expanded it to their modern sound, but "Fear Inoculum" just takes it to another level. This is slowly but surely becoming my absolute favourite TOOL song. It's epic and majestic beyond words, its grandiosity can't be overstated. No, it's not "heavy" or crazy in any way, because it doesn't need to be. It's telling a story about survival, about going to the depths of the abyss to confront our demons. "Mobilize, stay alive!". It's a deep, primal, and fundamental story about our very existence. The instrumental buildup towards the epic end is unlike anything I've ever heard in my life.

I was halfway through, and it just hit me, everything at once. I teared up, no other band or song can make me feel this way, this meaning, this beauty and this tragedy. This meaningless, yet inspiring universe that we are just a spec in, the grand scale of it all! to all of you who have been wating for this album for almost as long as I've been alive, I can finally say this with certainty,

This is more like a second coming and dusting off the instruments.

I am ex heroin addict. Well, started as pills. Ended as heroin. I snorted whatnI was assume was heroin, could've could've fentanol. I remember being in the bathroom. Apparently I then came out and started eating a pop part. I don't remember that. I remember being in the bathroom then coming to, hearing the paramedics. "Hey buddy. Can you hear us?" They said. I could've even make out the English language. All I truly heard was my mother crying and praying in my ear. That triggered me to sit up and vomit profusely. I was shivering cold. My shivering resembled someone imitating a chicken when calling someone a chicken. I was that cold. They urged me to go to the hospital, but I knew there was nothing they could do. I just wanted a hot shower. My mom made me promise to never do opioids again. I got to the point where I was truly panicking. "What am I going to do now?" I thought. I couldn't live without it..I later found someone who sold me some lsd. I sat on the 2 seater swing at my moms. I sit Indian style and rock in it when I listen to music. I had my headphones and my phone. I chose to play this song..Something happened..I started to feel my body..I thought to myself "I AM." I became truly present. I listened to the words of the song. I became frightened, but I felt a hand. Holding mine. Patting my back. A feeling of comfort..by the time Maynard exclaimed "MOBILIZE, STAY ALIVE!" I was in tears. Good tears. It felt as if all the weight of all my baggage lifted like helium. I felt as light as a feather. I felt ok. I cried. Thank you. Thank you Maynard. Thank you to God..the spirits..the universe..myself..whatever you want to call it..for saving me. I have not craved opioids ever since. Or any drug for that matter. Thank you also to Albert Hoffman for his discovery. He has saved so many lives.

Yeah, that's probably due to the fact that he writes his lyrics to the music and not the other way around.
Danny, Justin and Adam first create the music and when they're done they send it to Maynard, who then trips on it and creates the lyrics.
I think that's why his voice truly can be considered as the fourth instrument in the band, which blends in seamlessly with the others.

    Lyrics:
    Free fall through our midnight
This epilogue of our own fable
    Heedless in our slumber
    Floating nescient we
    Free fall through this boundlessness
    This madness
    Of our own making
    Falling isn't flying
    Floating isn't infinite
    Come, our end, suddenly
    All hail our lethargy
    Concede suddenly
    To the quickened dissolution
    Pray we mitigate the ruin
Calling all to arms and order
    Drifting through this boundlessness
This madness of our own making
    Sound our dire reveille
    Rouse all from our apathy
    Lest we
    Cease to be
    Stir us from our
    Wanton slumber
    Mitigate our ruin
Call us all to arms and order
    Sound the dread alarm
    Through our primal body
    Sound the reveille
To be or not to be
    Rise
    Stay the grand finale
Stay the reading of our swan song and epilogue
    One drive to stay alive
    It's elementary
    Muster every fiber
    Mobilize
    Stay alive
    Stir us from our
    Wanton slumber
    Mitigate our ruin

John Dillinger never heard of tool......heard them ripping into the grudge at oZfest 2001......life changing.....the sad thing is about this song is.....we die.....we don’t want to....or leave pain......it’s, but an interval.

Agreed my friend I'm 61 too and listened to this a couple of thousand times. Every time I had to get somewhere or wait I knew this would 15 minutes would be worth the while. ACDC, pink Floyd, Marylin Manson, Eminem just don't cut it the same.

Dear TOOL band, i was born in august 31 of 1984, thank you very much for this priceless birthday present!! I listen your music since 2000-2001, when I was a very young punkrocker musician, with time and drugs I decided to go study at the art school of my city, and from the year 2009 I become a visual artist.. Here and now, siting in my room with a lot of works on my back, Im grateful and thinking how inspirational and motivational can be the music and all the creative acts, in all their spectro, jazz, postrock, classical, progressive, theatre, sculptures, photographies, movies, etc.. But, specially the nature creative in any life species.. Nobody knows where we all will be in 20 or 30 years, maybe the whole world will be desapear, but among all the shit that happens around us, against what we fight every day, one all the good shits in all this years, was TOOL!! ;) respect for you guys! we are all trascendentals! Learn to swim! Ride the spiral!

Tool is the greatest rock band of our time. No other band taps into my soul and mind in such a beautiful and intimate way. This whole record to me is perfect. It’s calming, inspiring, empowering, epic, introspective and eye opening.
