An alternative idea but again I don’t really like the concept of this whole thing.. Instead of a fixed attribute boost for playing with randoms, implement a dynamic system that adjusts player attributes slightly based on the team's average skill level and the opponent's strength. This helps balance the game without overly penalizing or rewarding any particular group. But 2K in its current position cannot implement something like this yet 😅

I only play with randoms, but this is some of the dumbest stuff I've ever heard. Even as a random I don't need a boost to outplay my matchup, I can take an 85 OA into the rec or park and outplay most 95+OA guys.... give me an added boost.... BBQ CHICKEN!!

I stopped playing with randoms since 21 I went in with randoms for the event yesterday and instantly remembered why I stopped in the first place, running with randoms is the most aggravating experience in 2k, horrible some ppl have no business in the rec or playing basketball period

To be honest so many people have become too vocal stating games in general that they can’t win are trash or sucks. Leaving developers to cater to the mass. If you want to get better PRACTICE (you’re not HIM). I use to practice jump shots every year for hours in my court, dribbling combos. Now players get beat by 30 go 0-7 and quit.
I’m not gone lie Demi got a point, not everybody want to be in a discord, to play with a community, some people just want to jump in and play pick up. Imagine going to LA Fitness and you want to play ball, and you can’t play because you don’t have a crew.
as a middle aged man who doesnt get chance to get on and play often enough to play with squads, i always play with randoms but i dont see this helping as it wont help the peoples basketball IQ. people will always get in the way in the paint or dribble for the whole shot clock.
I love the idea of incentivising just hopping on spots and playing. One of the issues with parks is its so hard to get consistent games without a squad and even with a squad it takes forever. In the past id run with my squad we would go to the park and get almost immediate runs. Now it takes forever. Tbis year we tried it twice and both times I was like we could've played multi theater games and a full rec game for how long it took to get 1 park game started. I really think they should have match making and boost XP gained from streaks and random games played in theater. I dont even care about stat boosts, give xp boost so leveling is easier without a squad.
How would they know ur playing with a random because it's someone that's not on ur friend list?......because if that's the case I can definitely see people that play with friends saying yo let's remove each other off are list so we look like randoms an can get those boosts
1:32 the problem with this is the fact that squads and no squads is already a thing in the rec… meaning everyone on the other team is also getting that boost so your boosted attributes are negated by the opposing defenders boosted defense.

I think template builds could be a good idea, but not to 99 overall. Make it to where it’s a template to 80 overall and you can add your preferred additional attributes to get to 99 overall. For example, if you want to make a pass PG then his pass accuracy is 93 and other attributes might be lower. But you can add attributes. This will make the game balanced and also give you control.
I have a 70% win percentage and all I do is run with randoms. I find it more fun because when I usually play with the people I know, things get weird because they all just want to score.
Now I do agree with you getting bonus rep like 2x or 1.2x for playing with randoms But I also agree with if you’re streaking you should get 1.2x or 2x, 3x for hitting 10, 20, 30, streak in the parks
I like the win streat bonus. The random bonus i think its a great idea i just think it needs to be implemented better and Im ok with it. This should apply in true random games. Lets say you win 20 games woth randoms then you get a +1 50 random wins +2 to all attributes etc etc. There should be a randoms and a team badge. The Randoms badge should boost a certain set of stats that are individual. Like Speed, 3 point, Dunk, block, etc. And the Squad badge should boost like team stats or badges. They should workshop and play with the idea.

This is a good idea as someone who plays with randoms almost always. Even tho I'm shooting 65%, my win rate in the park is only 50% because you can't control what folks do. Now the thing is, 2k has to Make this a thing where it can not be abused by people who know each other, and sadly, I don't think they can control that, so it'll break the game at the end of the day. 💯

There’s time where arcade mode basketball is okay. Like the Park or Theater. Another game mode should be simulation in my opinion. We want realistic gameplay in competitive spaces.
Giving randoms attributes are only going to cause them to jack up more BS!!!! This isn’t going to help at all smdh. But I definitely agree with the rep up boost for this.
I know 2K wouldnt do it cause it will impact VC sales but I think there should be a VC earned boost when playing Random Rec and a multiplier based on your final grade. The grade should dramatically impact your VC earned to give incentive to not suck. I also like a cudos system similar to overwatch where you vote at end of game for best player and that players gets rewarded with maybe boost for next game or addtional XP.
I think the one thing that’ll cure the random issue is players not communicating with each other use that built in mic and talk with each other can better your outcome
The Rec needs 3 game modes Random Rec, same as this year you play with randoms against randoms Squaded Rec, a full 5 going against a full 5 or even maybe 4 with an AI Mixed Rec, a squad of 3-4 players with a random or randoms, no AI unless dc/gradeout Other cool features I’d like to see for Rec is the ability to pick which position each player is and maybe the option to switch builds at half to make the game more interesting for both teams

IQ is the issue in random rec. It’s simple, matchmaking needs to be improved oppose to adding attribute boost to randoms. That’s only going to make it worse with every random moving like Antman 🤦🏾♂️
As someone whos mostly ran with randos since 2k20 , theres no way i see that working. Only see the community using that to pass even less and force shit fr. + how do yk if people are truly randoms on a team? Does it stop after youve played / won a game with a person? ( then making your take pointless ) or can you just use it if not in squads? ( = unsquad and abuse benefits). Too mamy problems.

They should have a random boost. Most of them quit and the matchmaking is horrible. They will match my hof 99 overall with multiple black card level 76 overalls. Or if I’m on my shooting build they’ll match me with multiple good shooters that don’t pass. Or if I’m on a rebounding build I’ll be matched with mostly slashers.
Listen I play with randoms all the time and have found that as long as you plug in your microphone you can impact the outcome of each play through coaching or call outs. People want to add me all the time because of my play style not even my build 🤷🏽♂️ i dont see the problem with our current 2k.

This is a good idea as someone who plays with randoms almost always. Even tho I'm shooting 65%, my win rate in the park is only 50% because you can't control what folks do. Now the thing is, 2k has to Make this a thing where it can not be abused by people who know each other, and sadly, I don't think they can control that, so it'll break the game at the end of the day. 💯

I would like to inquire about the design philosophy behind the rewards system in the 5v5 game mode. While I understand the appeal of individual highlights and flashy plays, I believe that the game should also incentivize and recognize the value of team-oriented play. 2K is at fault for matching up a team of 2+3 with a full squad. A team of 5 should only be matched with another team of 5.
There’s time where arcade mode basketball is okay. Like the Park or Theater. Another game mode should be simulation in my opinion. We want realistic gameplay in competitive spaces.
Why not have squad v squad and randoms v randoms?It's never fair to go up against guys that have been playing together.
Giving randoms attributes are only going to cause them to jack up more BS!!!! This isn’t going to help at all smdh. But I definitely agree with the rep up boost for this.
They could give you a +100 to all attributes, but it’s not going to help when they are still shooting with a 97 contest. 😂
I know 2K wouldnt do it cause it will impact VC sales but I think there should be a VC earned boost when playing Random Rec and a multiplier based on your final grade. The grade should dramatically impact your VC earned to give incentive to not suck. I also like a cudos system similar to overwatch where you vote at end of game for best player and that players gets rewarded with maybe boost for next game or addtional XP.

Boosting attributes doesn’t add IQ. If you run with 3 people or less it should load you in random rec, 4 or more should be squad rec think
I think the one thing that’ll cure the random issue is players not communicating with each other use that built in mic and talk with each other can better your outcome

The Rec needs 3 game modes
Random Rec, same as this year you play with randoms against randoms
Squaded Rec, a full 5 going against a full 5 or even maybe 4 with an AI
Mixed Rec, a squad of 3-4 players with a random or randoms, no AI unless dc/gradeout
Other cool features I’d like to see for Rec is the ability to pick which position each player is and maybe the option to switch builds at half to make the game more interesting for both teams

Having a boost to a complete team (correct player type, not 3 locks 1 PG and center) would be really good. They are all solid ideas, but can 2K roll this out correctly?

Why don’t 2k just boost the team take over for random rec so it incentivizes more team play
IQ is the issue in random rec. It’s simple, matchmaking needs to be improved oppose to adding attribute boost to randoms. That’s only going to make it worse with every random moving like Antman 🤦🏾♂️

Also if randoms quit they should not penalize your team for losing in terms of losing skill level! Mark the record not the skill especially if you had a good game

The problem with this is that a squad can just hop on the spot without being squad up and it will be considered you playing with randoms. Just ban those losers who do this please.

Sim and arcade should be in the game. Give the option. Just take crabbin, stupid steal animations etc. out the game

A lot of games give incentive for both . There’s on buff for playing on a team and another for playing solo . Balancing

I play with randoms year after year after year that really doesn't sound bad but it comes with problems like everything else on the game
it kills me when guards go into the paint to get a rebound or steal when they man sitting at the three like why are you down here even if we get the rebound now your man can get back on defense faster and guard the fast break which would have been a easy bucket for you
Incentives for randoms to circle back around always great. They can get take over boost and attribute boost as long as they randoms they shouldn't win against a team. And it revives the park. Cuz right now wait times for 1 game win streak long as he'll 😂
They should have a random boost. Most of them quit and the matchmaking is horrible. They will match my hof 99 overall with multiple black card level 76 overalls. Or if I’m on my shooting build they’ll match me with multiple good shooters that don’t pass. Or if I’m on a rebounding build I’ll be matched with mostly slashers.
All it takes is for friends to unadd each other for them to be “randoms” and hop on the spot and now they all op for no reason

Listen I play with randoms all the time and have found that as long as you plug in your microphone you can impact the outcome of each play through coaching or call outs. People want to add me all the time because of my play style not even my build 🤷🏽♂️ i dont see the problem with our current 2k.
This is why I wait until 2k is free before I buy it.
