#nba2k25 #update
The fact y’all have normalized spending over $5 on a virtual item that you JUST paid $80 for and completely goes away YEARLY is mind boggling dmb. This goes to show just how financially irresponsible a large share of society really is… Ion care if you a trillionaire, having to spend this much money to play a video game is just dmb.🤷🏾♂️
Bro it really is and I’m one of those for the simple fact I work 12 hrs and don’t got time to grind like I did back in the day and they make it so hard to grind to where for the audience like us we have to pay or kids like Fortnite getting parents to buy VC for them. And 2k is the only bball option anyways so they can. Idc about cosmetics costing VC, but they really need to bring back skill points
It’s about access and convenience. No one has time to no life the game.
Facts and I'm a culprit
Plus it just money, paper. It's purpose is to help us enjoy being alive. You can get it anywhere even while u spend it, like by streaming. Learn how to make some and stop hating.
If you’re young and plan on having a comfortable future do NOT take that advice from the dude right above me yeah it’s just money but the world has made it much more than just paper you literally can’t live without it financial freedom alleviates like 85% of your problems. That oh I’ll just make it back attitude will forever have you trapped in that cycle dudes talking like him online be the main ones broke in real life.
This year some kids mom (she was a lawyer) sued 2K for not letting our vc roll over like other games. 2k in return pushed a new tos that you had to agree to in order to play the game. In the tos it says we don't own the vc we buy and have no rights to it rolling over.
2k has already taking their stance on this. The odds of roll over happening are slim to none at the moment
I remember this
It's why I stopped playing bro..I wasn't accepting that tos..if 2k ends up losing that suit..then you won't be able to sue 2k..
@@MrTHUD03 that’s actually incorrect. The process is a lot more convoluted, but all that TOS did was tell you that you had to go through a mediator first and basically give Kay Kay every opportunity to resolve the situation individually with you however, if what they did was truly agrees she went through mediation and the mediator decided that, 2K was definitely in the wrong and you couldn’t settle amicably, you can sue as an individual however you would not be able to sue through through a class action lawsuit
I contacted the law firm doing that lawsuit. Im trynna get in on the payout
@@ImNotNotAllCityChi thanks for the info bro
We should also get a percentage of VC back if we delete builds
RRIIIIGHT!!!!!
@@peskysloth or a carryover build from previous 2k ….
I agree. Also it’s never made sense that we start at a 60 ovr. We should be starting where the average rookie starts or lower/higher based upon that year’s storyline
Love this idea start off at a 75 -80 depending on your build and work our way up from there to 99 but you should be able to put what attributes u want on your player if I don’t want to block leave it at 0 not 25
@@guider84 exactly. Do some drills to start out and have your base attributes carry you. More ppl would probably do no money spent, but you know 2k not going for that lol
I like what you saying but what story-line lmao, aint been a good story live since Spike Lee's
@@tyronealcorn7656 they don’t even try anymore lol everything is a money grab
Facts but that’s just ways to get people out of more money I’m not buying 2k this year spend way too much money just to get your player average
NCAA 25 cost 0 to upgrade my players lol
It’s a offline game with like 2 game modes

It’s a football game you play 1v1 on, same as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it’s the same game with a new year posted on it, when will football games evolve

We should be about to trade unused builds for half the vc used
Maybe in ur dreams 😅
@@Neutron19405 in my dreams i would win a million vc 😂
I approve this message
We should be able to get all the vc back if we don't like the build no more n if not all at least 75% of it back
Bruhhh I been saying they should let us trade in old builds even at 30% of the amount used on it
They need to make builds editable if we are going to pay 100$ for upgrades
That’s the most reasonable thing I’ve seeen. Lemme edit my build. My first three builds I realized too late that I needed 1 stat or something small for animations and such and build Was 80 ovr.
Nah yall gonna just keep changing build every 2 mins its gonna be toxic
@@yuhboisimplethen give it a timeed regulation like every 3 months u get the chance after u changed it first time
If I buy this game I’m doing one build maybe two imma wait til I see the build I want before I buy the game this is a huge investment to build this and not play it especially since they not refunding the vc
Imagine having attributes and still having to buy jump shot boost to shoot consistently take jump shot boost all the boost out the game
Facts I'm tired of buying boost just to compete smh. Huge difference when i don't have boost. I'm sick of Gatorade period lol😳😵
@@Paul-zj5xithis is so true. I used to play without boosts because I'm like it can't make that much of a difference...wrong. I instantly know the very next game if my jumpshot boost has expired. I buy a 10 pack and I'll shoot about 60-65% from 3..when they run out I'll start shooting 1-4, 2-5, 3-7
THIS !!
@@macg9315 makes no sense that it’s 10k for your custom shoe, should be free
If anything transferring VC will ensure players to stick around for the next game. They also need to implement a refund of VC when we delete a build based on their overall. For example: if it costs 364k vc for a 99 build we should get back at least 20-30% back

I’m pretty sure they used all of our shit to some extent 😂. I spent more on clothes in 2k19 than my player. I grinder the 82 game season and then some but I also had a small mall in my closet 😅. #dmbasz 😂😂😂😂
@@unknown183 bro seriously lol
@@braxtonrosato1991 yup
I think they need to pick one, either lower the price on VC or have it carry over to future games, I think that’s more than fair!
Lower VC cost... and CHANGE THE BADGE SYSTEM BACK!!! This constant need to grind particular badges is aggravating as hell.
Lower VC costs yes, but keep this badge system. It allows us to have A LOT more badges than previous 2ks and it’s actually reflective of our play styles. If you constantly have to grind badges it just means those badges aren’t really part of how you play
@@MarcusUpZ just because I don't pull up off the dribble for a couple games doesn't mean I should lose the ability to. It's not always necessary
@@Dtanner9688 you don’t though, if you have it HOF then it’ll lower to gold, a couple more then silver, a couple more bronze. And if you’re honestly not pulling up off the dribble even once in that many consecutive games then you deserve to have it on bronze because again it’s clearly not part of your game
I might not pull up off the dribble in 2 straight games and keep mine on HOF or let it drop down to GOLD, then I make 2 in the next and it’s back filled to HOF. It’s reflective of your play style.
I just dont understand why make build expensive, if it takes me 2/3 weeks to max out my player and bagdes (ofc if i play 2-3 plus hours every day) then that means i will make more build which will motivate me to stay bc if i make a bad build i can re create another or another position. On top of making a road to lengend where you get more badges or better attributes
Exactly it’s like they don’t understand the psychology either. People will be more willing to make multiple lower amount purchases than a bunch of big purchases. Maybe there’s enough whales for that not to matter
They would probably make more money if it cost less to make builds. Because in the old 2ks I loved making builds. But since they're so high, i'm only focusing on like 2 max.
It’s that type of thinking y the price of builds is up. It shouldn’t cost anything but gameplay to make a build
Not only do we deserve vc transfer yearly, we need our reparations for all past 2k’s if possible
The only reason we got a break on builds from 23-24 is because they gave us less attributes for each build in 24. If the build was equivalent I'd bet it'd be the same price or pretty close
The only way they would actually make it lighter on our pockets is if people stopped playing or stopped paying. VC transfer would be amazing but they would never allow it because they know the community will pay anyway.
Vc need to transfer
Customized shoes need to transfer
Them same tattoos we get in the store every year need to transfer.
I doubt they will lower cost of builds. This year was cheaper then last annual, I don't see it getting any less then what it is currently
I have a suggestion for the NBA 2K community: DO NOT Buy NBA 2K25 until the game developers make the necessary changes. They will only listen if their profits are impacted; if players organize a boycott against NBA 2K and hold the developers accountable, that is when real change will happen. It's unreasonable to pay for the game and then pay more for in-game features. I stopped playing MyPlayer mode years ago because starting at a low skill level and the slow progression was frustrating. Additionally, capping the maximum skill level seemed unfair. I advise everyone to wait until Christmas and see if there are any positive changes from 2Ksports. For example, look at the NFLPA, which is considered the weakest union in sports compared to the NBAPA or the MLBPA. The NBA 2K community should act like the NBAPA instead of the NFLPA.
I used to get discounts for VC the last 2-3 years. Not a single discount was offered to me this year though...
I don't mind the yearly transfer for vc. Another way they could do is have a feature where you can delete your build and gain that vc based on that build. Like say my build was 142,000 vc, when we do delete that build, we get a bit less like 141,000 vc.
The fact that we have to spend that much just for it to go away in a few years but also not letting us get the OG REBIRTH is insane, at least let us get a 90overall with Rebirth if the game is going to go away in a few years anyway smh
The only way to be beneficial to transfer vc would be by creating a different currency like fifa with fifa points which allow the vc bought with money to transfer. But then it wouldnt be that fair on ppl who dont buy. To fix that they would have to add different prices so the vc bought which will value more and upgrades be more expensive when using vc thats bought.
They won't allow a 2k VC wallet, as long as you can earn VC in game. They would have to create a currency, like MT, to differentiate your build currency from VC. Otherwise, you can spend the second half of the year earning VC through gameplay and carry it over to the next year.
That's kind of the point no? Like encourage playing later in the year
@@saltgod1865 The point is to encourage you to buy VC. Allowing people to accumulate 1+ million in VC during your game's junk time to carry over to your most lucrative time of the cycle is counterproductive.
@@SemperReloaded Take 2 would be the only ones who would say something like this, either you work for take 2 or you're just a dumbas
Then set a limit like 500k I mean if you earn it what’s the problem here? That’s how I feel at least
@@runk_gaming1564 Don't get me wrong. I would love to carry over my VC. I'm just pointing out why 2K isn't going to do it. They will lose money, and the people who have a significant amount of VC will buy more the next year if it doesn't transfer over. A lot of people threaten not to spend or buy the game the next year, but most do. The problem is that people in our community buy any and everything they charge for, and a whole lot of them spend thousands a year. As long as that is happening, 2k is not going to do things that benefit us.
They took a lot of quests out from 23 which gave about 80k-100k, which coincidentally, is damn near matching the vc cost difference between 23 and 24. 24 doesnt have nearly as many of these vc making quests. Ultimately, they didnt really reduce the amount of vc people were buying in 24. Thats 2k for you.
While it seems the price went down thats not the issue...the weight of attributes is heavier...a 99 on 24 is about a 93 on 23 and a 89 on 22
2v2 proam n 4v4 courts n proam would go crazy it up
I’m working on a build that only cost me 35 dollars. Basically my build is super realistic he can shoot pass dribble drive defend . The game is called buying a ball and heading to the park. Y’all should try it out 💯
That's why I don't complain.I just grind career mode until I get my v c's up.Because i'm in no hurry to get my build 99
same here my career is fun too so i do the same thing every year but 2k25 im going into retirement its up to them if i ever come back
Man, get ready to pay up 💰💰💰
2k want that bag and 2k will get that bag.
Get ready for VC inflation, minimal payouts. "You know who it is!"---shakedown voice
Combine this with the millions of "new build", "op build", "comp build", "cosmic explosion build", "that new new op build" that content creators will push for the logo and trying to get flew out.
New subscriber 🤩 n you’re right about the vc change need to happen 💯
Cost per build still feel just more expensive than 23 feel like the newer the year the more expensive builds get
Price per build in 2k25 $1000.00😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣
Don’t give Ronald McDonald (Ronnie) any ideas
@@JPoct21 🤣🤣🤣💯
I have never fully upgraded a player from 2k that I can remember but I don’t spend money on in game development either 😂
The game needs to cost zero dollars to make a character but that will never happen. 2k is the only sports game i know of that uses virtual currency to upgrade players.
People shouldnt be okay paying real money to make a virtual character better
Here’s a thought and I know 2k will never agree to do this but what if we can sell our old builds from the previous game and transfer a percentage of the vc that we get from our sold builds into the new game that would same a lot of people money and also we get a sense getting something from which we spent our hard earned money on
I honestly find myself playing nba live 19 more. Hop on for a couple quick nba 3v3 games at the dope parks , couple online games. And not even think once about buying VC because you don't need it in live.. 2k should've taken some notes from NBA Live
A dynamic duo could be Drose and Steph Curry. It doesn’t always have to be “Shaq and Kobe” type of builds. Thats why i don’t trust 2k with that idea because a dynamic duo could literally be any two great players, ie Tim Duncan and David Robinson.
You got year so just buy the game make a build along with 75k vC for $22 and grind and just upgrade shooting stamina and ball handle your good tbh
The other factor in 2K24 being “cheaper” is due to there being less attribute points available to distribute. You literally cannot make the same build you made in 2K23
We can only upgrade less attribute this year compared to 2k23. This is why its cheaper, the visual for 99 is irrelavant, punch those stats into create a player we are probably 80 overall
i think you shouldn’t even get to buy upgrades. Like for example.
If you was to shoot threes you get a skill point per shot made (90 3pt shot you have to make 90 3s to max it out)
defense and inside same thing. physicals you have to go to the weightroom to max those. It’s that easy to make the game fun. That’s the grind in it instead of grinding in the real world to make the money to afford a $150 build that i might not even like 🤷🏻♂️
I think if they just gave a free build with the purchase of a preorder. They should also throw all 2k players a bone and maybe one forgiveness build where if you make a build and mess it up you can break it down one time and get back all VC and make a new build only once tho! I remember Fortnite let you return 2 or three skins if you didn’t like the purchase and get your Vbucks back and that game is free to play and skins is main source of income they just knew the money would go right back in!
I just wait for the games to go free
The $10 season pass is a good deal if you know you are going to level 40 anyway, $10 get you 45k plus about 27k worth of boosts, it's worth it just for the 45k.
This year I spent $150 for 700k vc and $10 a season for the first 6 seasons......I also bought $150 game cuz I wanted the nba ticket, so total I spent $360 got the game, the nba ticket, lots of boosts, and 1,070,000 vc.......I average about 150 rec games a season so I earn a lot of vc and was able to make 8 builds, 1 per season
Honesty letting vc transfer is beneficial to 2k. Instead of people leaving the game near end of cycle more people will be inclined to grind to get vc for the next drop
Bigs on 2k24 actually cost around 400k because just bringing your defensive rebound to 93 would bumo the ovr up. This model shown is probably the cheapest a build was in 2k24
Thank you for all your editing and research boss. I know how much work it takes to get one of these out to us while being relatable as well as informative! Respect
There needs to be VC refunds, period. You should be able to lead a build and get 30 to 50% back. Also, all of the animation threshold should be visible right in the builder or at least in the tester from the beginning. they’re not stupid. So they won’t do any of these things. They want us to spend as much money as possible.
Making vc transferable would revive 2k24 instantly. Ppl will be playing saving up vc for 2k25
Love the videos, man. I admire and respect the time you committed to creating the build price charts. I didn’t hear you mention tho that even tho the 2k24 build was cheaper, your player wasn’t as well rounded as the previous version. In 2k23 I had a Glass Cleaning 3lvl scorer (6’9, PF) that played like a SF. I couldn’t come close to rebuilding him in 2k24. Some like the fact that builds can’t do as much but that lack of development is also a part of the build being cheaper. Makes people create more builds thus STILL putting money back into 2k’s pockets!
All this money up for builds and not even having true 99 overall players when it’s all said and done is just greedy. EA needs to make another hoop game ASAP
The roll over will for certain nvr happen, im 100% sure of this.
If builds were cheaper, we would all be willing to grind multiple builds
If the cost per build were cheaper people would definitely create more builds which would benefit 2k in the long run.
All city on the money with these questions. 2k would be better off if each game last about 2-3 years, Annual games come with superficial changes including fixing things that aren’t broken.
The fact that spending money on building a virtual character is normalized in itself is a problem
The cost of upgrades is why i stayed in 92 rec this year i refuse to pay that much for a build
One more on the list of problems that would be solved by a subscription model.
The VC upgrade to 99 ovr is lower in 2k24 but alot harder to earn than it was in 2k23. In 2k23 i did not spend a dime in all my builds. I fugured out a way I could earn 10,000 VC in less than 30 minutes. In 2k24 it is impossible. The VC reward for any quest or game play is so small or non existance. At the end just another mind game.
Also with the builds. Youd decide to make a build that fits your playstyle...and the unfair thing they would randomly nerf or buff certain things trying to force you to make multiple builds.
One more thing. The level plates (Casual to Hallfame... Black to Purple) i dont believe it should be based on your win or loss, but rather solely on you individual teammate grading. I will explain... for example i may enter a game as gold and playing Random Rec, I play hard good game... I play Defense, score, pass the ball etc and i finish the game with A or A+ rating but we loose the game because someone decided to sell the team or someone was simply not good. Despite me playing well I may still loose my gold to silver and overtime if i keep running into same situation I can go back to down... and now it becomes harder to find good teammates to play with in Random Rec.
Even if Team winning affects your rating, I believe individual performance should have more impact. This would encourage players to play as a team as they aim for the high teammate grade. This would encourage more team play to win.
It doesn’t matter what we think. Majority of buyers are going to continue purchase 2k and everything else it offers. Me personally I’m done. They’ve already won though I’ve spent thousands
Unless everything is free I don’t wanna play it NCAA has my focus for the rest of the year
2k could try a currency exchange system. The amount of VC you earned in the previous 2k will be halved in the new 2k. Set a deadline and a cap on it. For example, by 9/02, submit your VC through the 2k app to be exchanged for the new VC. Limit is 1 million VC for submission per account.
And if we make dumb builds, let us get a refund on some of the VC spent. Like half or a quarter back.
“Invest “ its a weird word for us non content creators its a shameful money pit
Should do the hours it takes to max a build out no VC bought
In my opinion they won’t ever care until they get competition from another company EA need to make a comeback smh
From 85-99 it's only 11,332 for each overall
They should definitely lower the VC prices instead of making builds be over 370,000 VC. A 99 overall should be at the most 170,000 so 2K is still making the money but the builds are still grind the builds so players that do no money spent won’t have their time wasted and that’s the main problem with 2K they care so much about money they don’t care about the players time anymore But then again most of the 2K community just deal with it and never talk about it in the ones that do talk about it don’t be heard
(Hypothetical) imagine buying a used 2024 Audi A6 cash. Then, put about 10K into it. The newest model comes out and you want to sell your modded Audi with the expectation of getting a ROI from your mods. What if the car industry says, all modded vehicles are ineligible to resold onto the market and dealership. Your 10K worth of mods (VCs) cant be reinvested into your new car. So, you're forced to buy a new car w/ no cash to Mod it.
I stopped buying vc after they made people buy headbands after they been free for years
If you preorder the game 2k should let you get one nba template player free of charge badges and attributes 🤷🏽 that would at least help cost for the average gamer we still are going to make 3+ builds 🤣
Appreciate your take and support. Keep grinding.
It doesn’t matter what 2k does with gameplay if the VC does not increase in abundance for the players this year 2k is going to have problems. Cuz the OG old head players are sharply losing interest
Once you stopped buying the game then they are forced to change their model
And many prayers and blessings especially to our young people growing up in this world 🌍🌍.
Meanwhile it costs 0 to upgrade in CFB25
I personally like the reset because it feels like a new game when everyone resets
I'm definitely FOR VC roll-over. Not holding my breath over it though
All the more reason to finally have your 2K account you use on a year to year basis as an actual stored account for all your VC purchased and earned. This needs to happen. Money will always be made and this will not hurt their pockets rather open more doors for others to get on the game.
2k so criminal!!! At least give me enough VC to buy socks after a win 🤷♂️
If they made that to max a player we just need to pay $40 they will win anyways… I meant, the community it’s huge… it will be 40 mines, 40 of this Ann that, and it will be like that ereevery where…. Or just add GOOD Vc method… we all will buy the game anyways….
We ain’t buying 2k this year big dawg. Ain’t no need too
Ngl I’m getting sick and tired of the 2K antics. I’m worried for this year’s game 😅
I think the builds cost less because the builder is so restricted tbh
I highly doubt the cost will decrease. I won't believe it till I see it. They'll probably increase the costs to make up for the loss of profit from 2K24
I wish they would let ppl also trade cards in my team. Like my God
They will never do that it would cause them to not make profit
Thank you for your commitment to keeping your audience updated on the things that matter the most.
This is a big deal. We need change and will only happen if everyone speaks up to them about it.
a hundred dollars for just 1 build is absolutely insane. bro i know alot of people with like 3 or 4 builds maxed out.
I’m laughing. Vc don’t need to transfer. When the next game come out stop buying vc. My boy spent $50 yesterday to upgrade his build to a 99 ovr. I told him that he spent 2k25 on 2K24.
Yes VC needs to transfer from one game to another
Hey All City Live, and you know as I was watching your videos, which are great and informative, you know we don't even spend this much on groceries as some people spend on these games, I have a suggestion but 2k won't bother to listen because it's all about those Benjamins not about a fun basketball game. And the only reason I play sometimes is because I wait for the game to go down in price and grind at my pace.😊😊😊😊
I hate having a 99 overall that plays like a 80
2k would NEVER in a gazillion years allow VC to transfer over from previous 2ks because it would literally cut the amount of money they make off VC sales each year in half I’m the type of guy that usually had 50-200k saved up by the time the next 2k comes out because I have nothing else to do with it
Builds cost less but my carrier shells out less vc you can’t sim to end on most games because they are key games oh and what happen to contract deals shelling out like 6-10k like 17-22 like my Nike contract doesn’t even give me enough for a pair of Nikes
I just want more from myEras like being able to start in a specific year
If the builds cost less to make people would make more builds
