I was a Army Airborne Combat Medic we were rapid and could set up our field hospitals fast but I see here it has changed and been defined in a rapid forward deployment response as per situation. I always praised the Air Force!

    Why never use physician assistants???
    Always MDs and RNs.

MDs are guaranteed specialized. PAs are great generalists, good for batt surgeon or primary care roles. I am sure in a heavy combat scenario PAs will surely be used alongside MDs tho since provider shortage

I’m enlisting as a 4N1 surgical services in the Air Force. How can I do this ? Do I have to get additional training for GST ?

I’m most likely going to be enlisting in the Air Force as well and being a 4N1 is basically my dream job but apparently it’s really hard to get along with a lot of other medical jobs. Did you have to wait for your job? Any response would be very helpful :)

Brooke Jewell yes they wait time can be very long depending on how many slots are open. I am still waiting to ship out and I swore in on April 1st.

I know this is old. But if you’re still wondering speak to your readiness flight and see if you can have your UTC as GST.

I’m preparing to go in as 46N3J, once I go through boards and all. I’ve been working as an RN for 3 years, 1 in ED, and all in a level 1 trauma center. And I was prior paramedic before. How can I prepare myself to get into this unit or job? Who would I need to contact or apply to? Thank you

Firstly why are psychiatrists making diagnosis of mental conditions/imparements when it states in the mental conditions diagnosis methodology authorised medical practise book and listed mental impairment conditions that the diagnosis is done and performed by psyschological assesment which by the way does take a certain time requirement and methodical assessment process and determination of education presence the patient has to basically perform an elimination of causes before one can even suggest a damn chemical inbalance presence and oooo guess what i have attained two variant sectors of psychology.
