These surgeons don't get enough credit, they are the real heroes, they save lives everyday, keep on fighting the good fight sir and I hope you save many more lives. Much respect!!
These Drs are some of the most experienced emergency medical experts on the planet. I wish I would of been a medical doctor and served like this guy. I got to witness one of these guys in an ER in San Diego after a multiple car crash where several patients arrived at the same time. This 1 Dr had staff running all over the place and I never saw one hesitation during his orders. He commanded such an authority that no one else even questioned his orders. The staff that night were equally bad ass. I was dating one of the RNs and just stopped by with her lunch. Turned into a short lunch but what a sight to behold.
I'm so proud that he is on our side. Thank you for your service so that those on the battle front are blessed to have the best of the very best. God bless
@@jj-yf5ls Hey man, had a few hickups along the way due to family deaths but I did score well on my MCAT so thats a relief! Now I will be starting my masters in biomedical science and after graduation ill have an interview with the medical school. Have already been talking to recruiters. Going to see an air force recruiter in the next few weeks to find out more information about the Special Operations Surgical Team (SOST). still got a ways to go. Hope you've been safe during this crazy time.
My God I take my hat off to this surgeon! Thank you Sir!! I'm 48 years old and an ex-Navy Officer in New Zealand but I feel I have so much to give back. You got me thinking....!!! Thank you for your Service!! The world needs more people like you!!!
I can't believe the negative things people have to say isn't there enough negative floating around. This man deserves respect and gratitude not only for saving lives but for having the courage to go somewhere dangerous to give back. With his experience the army was fortunate he volunteered because his experience is worth 5 or 10 Hospital Corpsmen that are young and think they are hot shots till they get into battle and can't handle pressure. Obviously Col Lough is a humble man because he could have stayed at his nice cushy little office but instead went into the military to a fighting zone risking his life and comfort and even said he would carry water. I have been fortunate to work with active duty and though I work for Dept of Navy I do everything I can for my patients and I am proud of the enlisted and officers I work for and with and consider myself fortunate for having met such heroic people who have agreed to risk their lives for freedom and to protect our country. So thank you Col Lough for having the courageous heart to go back at 50 to save lives! l
thank you, sir. my son did three tours in northern Afg. with the swedish special forces through ISAF. the swedish politicians would send in our boys but did never provide medevac helicopters. however, the US ARMY did the stand-by with the american choppers. in case the swedish soldiers would be badly wounded, the US ARMY would medevac them. I am glad people like you were there. thank you ! GO!GREEN!! THANK YOU.
My Grandfather was a “ chest “ surgeon in the pacific. Dr. Forester Raine. He was stationed in Hawaii, would go set up MASH hospitals, write journals on what needed to be done, such as they had never trained an orderly in how to assist in the operating rooms. With the lack of “chest” surgeons, he was 1 of 3 in the area of combat, 3, 000 miles. From the time a soldier was wounded and treated at a forward medical area, then transported to a hospital could take up to 3 weeks, so I’ve read articles that he wrote on this. I was really to little to talk to him about his service, but when I met him in heaven, it’s gonna be a hug, I love you Grandfather and let’s have an ice tea. God Bless you sir for you service!
If memory serves correct, I was on tour back in 2012 close to FOB Shank as a 19D. I felt the shock-wave of that same attack described in the video or another similar to it. No joke, the medics there train day in and out for this shit.
We may not fully realize what it means to fight in the battle field and to be personnel who save the injured soldiers. At all times, I regard it as the highest level of courage and honour to be soldiers who are ready to sacrifice their lives
I'm 12 and I decided over summer I wanted to be a flight surgeon in the army and my mom doesn't support it I think because she's to scared to send me out to war but my dad supports it all the way ... But I think it's because he's In the army to he's a special forces pilot for the 160th and that was the division I want to join
i say keep going kid dont let anybody knock down ur dreams yes even family. Im 14 and i wanna be a Battlefield Cardio thoracic surgeon and im kinda hated in my family cuz there really anti military add to that there christian and i dont identify has anything but i wont let a little hatred ruin my chances of saving thousands of lives. Which is i think is more important then making my family happy.
Btw..his last bit of advice should be hilighted.u need to report yourself to grow..I for one and going to take that advice..I been wanting to move across country..I is 52..I loved the before but been hesitant to go back..he is right you need to go to continue to grow..
It doesn’t matter which branch you’re in. Everyone respects the medics at the end of the day. I’ve been told it’s easier not to think about how medics dirty their hands and just think about the enemy when in combat
I pray for the day when won't need Doc anymore. That isn't an insult by any stretch, but I pity them for having to put up with our stupid actions, yet I am grateful that they are able to endure the unendurable.
I am currently a University student and my goal in the future is to be Doctor in the Armed Forces, oh and im muslim, if that matters. You can be a "Patriot" and serve your Nation whilst being a muslim...
DANNY TREJO : GOOD JOB , GOOD WORK , GOOD EXAMPLES TO ALL PEOPLE ESPECIALLY YOUR OWN !!!. PUSH THEM ALL TO GET A GOOD EDUCATION AND GOVERNMENT JOBS !!. THAT IS A GREAT TUR OF EXPERIENCED FOR THE FUTURE !!!. NOT JUST THE MILITARY , INSIDE THE GOVERNMENT !!!.TO MAKE A DEFERENCE IN OUR LAWS !!. again ,THANK U !!.
How can I find a person who can correct certain things specific to my personal situation which I need removed that's harming my mind n or body? Can seem to figure out how to get this done or by who,its an immediate problem
Can the american win war if they somehow need to fight in battles that can't place their soldiers within 1hr helicopter flight form their doctor? I wonder.
What if you don't have those skills of a surgeon? What if you don't any skills at all? Its easy to gloat from a position of personal experance, but your experiences is one example, but not the norm.
How similar to either of the following is Covidd 19 as compared to both Legionnaires Disease and or Asian flu avian or bird flu There was a documented instance of Legionnaires disease in NH in 2018 possibly at a hotel in or near Hampton Beach N. H. Antibiotics will be effective.

I really don't think it matters what side the surgeon is on if he's allowed to treat you.
He’s supporting imperialism, genocide and regime change.
This guy has been motivation for me. currently studying for the MCAT to do what he does!
How’d it go? 2 years later give us an update

At a time in life when most people are starting to look at retirement, this amazing guy goes back to work where he's needed. We need more like him.
My Grandfather was a “ chest “ surgeon in the pacific. Dr. Forester Raine. I think the age rule should be re thought. If the person can prove their physical abilities and have a desirable ability, then let them go and serve.
I believe there are wavers
Thank you for all that you do.
Yep that's going to be me one day I want to be a surgeon well that's a long time I'm 9 years old
Abaxis- Olathe 43 Good luck to you!!

I served as an Army podiatrist in the MSC just after Vietnam. In my view, COL Lough is a true American patriot and real hero!
God bless the medical professionals whom do absolutely remarkable things to save absolutely remarkable American Soldiers 🙏
I love your comments about repotting. Thank you for all you have done for others. Much respect and gratitude from a fellow veteran.
that would fuck my head up seeing people blown up everywhere..
Thats another reason why I couldn’t do that. That’s really scarring.
I want to be a Trauma Surgeon in the Military. I want to help the hurt brave young men and woman that are risking their lives for their country.
Thank you for taking care of our injured soldiers!
What a guy!!!!! This is a guy that put country over money etc! A true American!!
So much respect for this man

These guys have balls, god bless em.
Airborne Ranger Doctor! Amazing!
My encouragement comes when he mentioned being repotted... An experience that I can relate to...
God bless ALL of you!! my dad's in he Navy...
Two of the hardest jobs put together
We may not fully realize what it means to fight in the battle field and to be personnel who save the injured soldiers. At all times, I regard it as the highest level of courage and honour to be soldiers who are ready to sacrifice their lives
If hearing stories from people like this one don’t give me the chills and motivate the hell out of me to be an army docto, nothing will.
While somebody is enjoying million dollars house, you join the army and save lives. As a combat medic, thank you for your service and inspiration.

A youtube AD that's actually worth a damn. Hooyah!

There are no physician assistants in battle fields, only MD and RN.
