I just love Korra's relationship with the airbender kids. She always knows how to handle them and she's always so supportive of them all, it just feels like she's their older sister.

They do so much for her too. They are a great addition to the show
Notice how Korra is already displaying greater maturity after learning about Wan. Rather than rushing through different methods for getting into the Spirit world, she takes her time and encourages patience. Even going so far as to offer calm, rational suggestions like asking Tenzin how he first went into the Spirit world.
Many people try to claim Korra has no development, but that's not true. She, arguably, has the most development of any character in the series. It's subtle but present. If only more people had the patience to see it...
Those who said Korra had no development are just blind haters.
You can argue that the rest of the crew didn't have the same attention that Korra when it comes to character development, but said that Korra didn't have development is a lie.
I also don't think her development was subtle, i think is all over the place lmao. The others are more subtle
@@alexlannister950 very well said and I agree wholeheartedly. I only made the point of subtly because I knew the journey Korra takes BEFORE I started watching so I knew what to look for. I figured someone who didn't know what to look for would think it wasn't there. But yeah, for the most part, it's just blind hate from people entrenched in nostalgia.
@@Badgermoles4444 oh yes yes. I first watch the show a few months before book2 be release and back in the day not everyone catch all her development in a first view(i know I didn't).
But after re-watched the show we saw all the more subtle moments we missed in the first watch.
And watching with people that are first watching the show now, like Kenny and Montana, they notice those subtle things more faster than people who first watch back in the day

Jinora being the MVP. I loved the fact that Kya noticed that something was up with Jinora and it was kinda sad to see Tenzin struggle with his spiritual side (once again trying to live up to his father)

I love that even tenzin gets his own character development
It kind of wants me to see what she would have been like as a mother and what kind of kids she would have raised, had she had the chance.
The sad part is that if Tenzins comment about her was right, she might have seen offspring as too much of an anchor to have been a decent parent. (To someone besides her brothers)
At least she seems to be a fun aunt.
Varrick being likable and goofy is intentional, because it makes people less likely to believe his actions are out of pure self-interest or that he is using people. The same way Kenny keeps trying to rationalize Varrick's actions really goes to show how dangerous Varrick really is. He is so likable and fun people just don't want to believe he could be using them until its too late. Varrick straight up threatened Bolin and Asami here, but you are still in denial over it because your initial impression of Varrick is so strong that you want to believe it has to have a good motive or intention beyond making money off a war and stealing Asami's company. That is why I prefer Varrick as an antagonist than Unalaq. He really does show just how hard it is for people to see through people who use mask of being fun or lovable to trick them.
True, Varrick is one thing above all and that is charismatic! He's a great, goofy, fun guy, that live by the philosophy to just do what it takes to get what he wants, collateral damage accepted. He's not necessarily evil evil, just egoistic to the max. Like, his plans aren't to hurt people or damage the society specifically, but he's okay with it if he can make a big profit. I like how they wrote him in this grey area, harder to grasp kind of "evil".
Jinora is honestly such a beautiful foil to Korra's headstrong demeanor, and the way she parallels Aang is so beautiful. She's easily one of the best characters to come out of season 2 for me
Korra finally learned how to calm chaotic spirits using spiritbending 😀. Just like Aang Jinora also has a very strong spirituality

The thing about Tenzin’s lack of spiritual power probably has something to do with his personality: his personality is more waterbender/Katara while Jinora is more Aang/airbender personality. I love how they gave jinora that aspect

The comparison between Unalaq and Yakone, actually made me think that Unalaqs ambitions actually explains a lot about why the twins are like they are.
Another apt comparison might be to compare the twins general demeanor to Mai from the first series.
They all grew up being not the children of their parents, but their tools.
Exactly. It seems like twins grew up with extreme pressure. Unalaq, being the spirit-obsessed man he is, probably wanted one of his kids to be the Avatar, and it really didn’t help that his brother’s, out of all people, kid was the Avatar. So he probably trained the twins really hard so that they would be on the same level as the Avatar on at least waterbending.
I feel so bad for tenzin in this episode. At least in the end he was able to support jinora and was able to accept that she's the one that was meant to guide korra into the spirit world.

She doesn't make them do anything. They trust her, and when she asks they choose to listen. She said it was ok for them to show themselves so they did.

I mean... I get Tenzin. Not only did he feel frustrated that he couldn't get into the spirit world himself but then his 11 year old daughter upstages him. Not to mention that he does know that the spirit world is dangerous. (Koh, amongst other dangerous spirits) Because they're leaving their bodies in the material world they won't have bending and without bending they're defenseless, mostly. It's just his parental side trying to protect Jinora - perhaps a bit too much.
Did you notice how Korra's character changed? After meeting Wan, her attitude improved a lot, being more mature unlike the previous chapters
You guys should totally react to She-Ra: The Princesses of Power! YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH IT SO HARD! ESPECIALLY BOW!

Honestly Jinora is my favorite character in this show. With my current knowledge of the future but also in my first time watching she was already amazing to me at this point.

So, to fully clarify to folks, because this has been a continued point of confusion people just don't get: If you enter the Spirit World via meditation, you can't bend because you don't have your physical body. If you enter the Spirit World via the portals, you *can* bend because you *do* have you physical body.

It’s not just about Tenzin wanting that connection but not having it. Rather, the sheer amount of pressure from the position he’s in is antithetical to spiritual harmony. He has the weight of an entire culture on his shoulders. He is undoubtedly a great custodian of all the details of airbending culture, but he’s been unable to truly *live* those teachings because of the burden that’s been placed upon him. He may know the moves of the cleansing ritual, for example, but the spirits are responding to his lack of centeredness.
It’s this disharmony that makes Tenzin the most fascinating Korra character for me.
Yeah, it's that Tenzin tension that's limiting him when he needs to be relaxed and at peace.
