Quality of her voice, accuracy, emotion, facial charm and expressions, performance as an actress, even movements of her fingers - perfect aren’t they? Rare performance of centuries.
Stupendous! Proverai di che fiere saette s’armi l’ira di donna tradita Come far sà ben tosto vendetta nobiltà, che si vede schernita. You will learn with what fearful arrows the wrath of a betrayed woman is armed. Nobility, seen to be scorned, knows well how to take swift revenge.
Wonderful performance by Amanda Forsythe and bravo to the Boston Early Music Festival for the orchestra and production . I have bought the CD but this deserves to be out on DVD/Blu Ray.
„Proverai“ and „der Himmel wird strafen“ are one of the best Haendel performances I ever heard, singing and choreography. I would like to see this production in Europe. Fantastic! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Mit welcher Leichtigkeit und grossem Können ist der Auftritt von Amanda Forsythe als Edilia. Sogar die einzelnen Töne werden in den Passagen phrasiert.
The audience didn't see this, but the guy with his back to them facing Amanda while she was doing her bit was pulling faces at her trying to make her laugh!
I am, frankly, interested in the preservation of the treasures of Western culture. BEMF, in my unlearned but interested opinion, did an absolutely wonderful job of restoring this sadly neglected 1705 composition from Hamburg to life. Thank you, your benefactors, donors, supporters, and creative and performing team, for all your stupendously successful efforts. But on the other hand, it seems a real shame, almost a tragedy, that the benefits of your efforts only went to an ephemeral audience. It would be so much better, and worthwhile in the great scheme of things, if their so successful efforts could have been preserved for posterity, or at least the entertainment and enjoyment of their fellows. It seems a shame that your efforts could not reach a broader audience. I know nothing about the financing of artistic efforts, but am frankly angry that so much dross, if not even stronger derogatory words, IS preserved for posterity by America's artistic and financial "elite", while your magnificent efforts were not. (I am thinking in particular of the comedy of bad taste that goes by the name of "Kennedy Center Honors".) Can you point to any publications, either in print or on the web, which speak to the issue of what musical productions do get videotaped and made available to a broader public (e.g., via PBS)? Thank you for any light you can shed on this issue of financing the preservation of musical performances.
Thank you for your support. Producing a commercial DVD of one of our productions would be a considerable undertaking, and I fear well outside our current levels of support. We do hope to share more of our archival videos in the future and are always exploring opportunities to restate our productions with an eye towards producing a DVD. We do hope to make a studio recording of Handel's Almira in the future, as we absolutely believe this is a masterpiece that deserves more attention. We will also present a concert performance of the work in Boston over Thanksgiving weekend this coming November.
There is another gem buried at wgbh radio that needs to be re-heard OR put on a CD, your Mattheson's Boris Goudenew (2005). Is there any hope to have that at least available on wgbh radio as an encore recording?
The audience is clapping, laughing, and amused with the trio of ladies placing their arms akimbo as they move forward, in their scolding. I am certain no one thought the aria was anywhere near over and finished.
@@bostonearly My wife likes to joke that the men who wrote Handel's libretti had the easiest job(s) in the world: "Just pen a couple of lines of text and ride them out for an entire act."
We would describe the performances as "historically informed". Our Stage Director and Choreographer are experts on period performance practices and this informs every element of their staging. The importance of gesture and movement are especially vibrant in our productions. Opera was a popular entertainment during the Baroque period, and our staging also strives to represent this emotional relevance while still being grounded in the theatrical techniques of the period.
Dilettantes who don['t know the conventions of Baroque opera. When I was in Uni, a friend was the conductor of the Women's Choir and at the end of the first movement of one piece some in the audience started clapping. Becca's hand quickly and decisively snapped down and back as in, "STOP!! We're not done, you Phillistines!"
Completely stunning ! Glorious performance in every way. Thank you so much for sharing.

yes, sire
Everything about this was simply perfect! What a fantastic production.
Almira, the first Handel's opera, composed when he was only 19 years old. Genius

I've never heard this aria before omg now I can't stop listening to it, it's my favorite!!! Handel i love you. Proverai 🎶
So well staged!
So well acted!
So well sung!
Bravo!!!😊
You guys are the real MVPs for recording a studio version of this opera and putting it on Spotify. Truly an underrated masterpiece.
Wow, Amanda is so stunning - what an amazing voice she has - nice diction and acting. Tremendous talent.
Yes,beautiful but all the media presents is Beyonce & J Low.
Though, the voice is lighter, I wish she were as big as Anna Netrebko to whom she's superior in many ways.
@@rayangreene Apples and oranges, my friend.

Please upload the entire opera.

С каким юмором решена эта сцена!Непревзойдённое исполнение прекрасной Аманды!
Wow .. wonderful performance . I hear her voice about 6 times . It's perfect . Good job .
Amanda Forsythe is truly disarming❣️
I have to take a seat to wrap my head around the tremendous voice i just witnessed❤❤❤
Je n'ai qu'un seul commentaire à dire Bravo Amanda vive la musique . Baroque
Amazing rendition! Handel would have praised it!
Spectacular: phrasing, storytelling, even yet expressive tone throughout Aria- Clarion and joyously fluid and exemplary coloratura. Thank you

Diese Frau ist wirklich unfassbar gut. Ich stimme zu.
Thank you...

Una gran artista!
I need a DVD or studio recording

Me encanta!! Que buena voz!!
There isn't a finer baroque soprano anywhere. I should know because I've worked with a few of them!
Maravigliosa!
I have Lissen 100 time. Amanda u fantastic 👏 💖

Feminism before the Letter, by Handel !
Wonderful performance
~Almira~ was George Frideric Handel's first Opera composed in 1703.
Szuper!
Avec mes compliments
I want DVD or blue ray!!! please!!!
We would love to remount our Almira production and produce a DVD in the future, but I'm afraid there are no plans right now.

amazing
wonderful pertormance.
Anyone know which act and scene this is from? ☺️
This is from Act I, Scene 4 of Handel's Almira.
BRAVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish she had sung a trill on the sustained "Nobilta". It would have been extra flirtatious in "luring" him over.
про что поет?
Seems like some people in the audience didn't know in 1:35 that the piece still wasn't over haha
The copious repeats in Baroque Opera can sometimes be a bit of a surprise!

When a recording of this opera, or the DVD of this live performance, maestri O'Dette & Stubbs? It's long overdue.
I think a recording by this cast is available on Spotify.
I just decided to randomly search up my name and this is what I find......
BRILLIANT !
I am already listening this work on Spotify, but where can I buy the complete video version?
I also asked them, but they don't have a commercial video. Too bad.

It's Händel or Haendel
In English it's just Handel. And he was a naturalised Englishman (or British if you like) after all.
Bravo
Both ways are correct. As well as Handel, in English
@@MK-xh3iq He was german. HÄNDEL
