As a player who has played both versions, (6000 hours on bedrock, 3000 hours on java), java makes switching versions easy, and has better mechanics and servers, however bedrock is definitely much less resource demanding. Although Java is smoother, Bedrock is also quite good. However, the modding capabilities of Java and commands are definitely much better, but Bedrock modding (addons) is definitely advancing and improving.

Some more arguments for Bedrock Edition:
Redstone is DIFFERENT, not worse; I can't figure out anything with pistons on Java edition.
You can add new items or mobs really easy on bedrock edition.
There are several good bugs that are reproducable, such as de-solidifying the top half of your body(allowing you to walk through blocks!)
Speed on low-end devices: I have huge improvements on speed with bedrock than Java, so... Also. Installing a mod is not an option, as I want to keep everything "vanilla".
The commands are way easier to make on Bedrock edition, because you do not need to worry about NBT data!!!

    • @LiamWins
      @LiamWins 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      1. Lack of BUD almost ruins Bedrock redstone, although I will say that being able to move chests is very cool
      2. It’s add-ons vs mods, they’re entirely different systems and there are very easy ways to mod minecraft
      3. Bugs are bad and if you want them, use aforementioned mods
      4. Installing e.g optifine does not remove the vanilla experience whatsoever
      5. You can do way more with commands on Java because of NBT, and if you don’t want to use NBT, you don’t have to!

    • @Dusks_Base
      @Dusks_Base 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@LiamWins Haha, sure. Good points, though I think I can come up with some quick arguments.
1] There are ways to detect block updates, though. We have observers and those torch-burnout bud detectors.
2] I am not familiar with modding software for Minecraft, but I am able to make an add-on with several new sets of armor, new items, block, food and some weapons in under an hour, including all of the texturing and testing. Is that possible with the Java nodding methods?
3] I agree that bugs are bad and that mods/add-ons should be what implements them.
4] Sorry, by "vanilla", I mean completely non modded. The other users of my computer would get annoyed, and I do not want that. Plus, I am not the root, so I would need to likely break the computer (I know of ways to remove the limits, but they are not the best and have some side effects).
5] Ah, yes... Commands. With an add-on + commands, we can do quite a lot. For example, there are add-ons that can tell you when you jump, when you sneak, when you left/right click... And if we combine those with scoreboard and custom items and entities, we can have a rather large array of options. Perhaps it is not as good as NBT data, but I know of ways to make stuff like the Wynncraft class system work, as well as creating custom movement for mobs. Though, that stuff is still a little buggy.

mods are not that hard to use in java
just download download the mod you want to play, download forge that is the same version of your mod, and then done installing the forge, and then open the forge version file, and drag the mod inside the mod file of forge version
and basicly you can start play
your computer should be able to run atleast like 5 mod, cuz mod don't really make your game lag that much, unless you download like 100 mod or playing a freaking mod pack(that mostly include over 200 mod)

After spending a lot time on both it depends, you can change versions, you have the f3 menu, your offhand is more useful than on bedrock, you can use doors for early underwater caving without potions, however bridging is easier on bedrock, and you can do the boat clutch if you hop out of the boat before it hits the ground, you can take no fall damage while riding a horse unlike java, and multiplayer can be done without using a server or trying to do stuff on lan.

Both versions have good things, and their downsides:
    Bedrock
    Pros:
-More and better animations for enemies and other creatures
-Armor stands have arms, which can help in maps and for saving space in chests, as you can hold your weapons in them.
    -No cooldown
-The sharpness enchantment adds +1 damage to the weapon with each level
-You have an in-game player customization menu, and you can unlock more options through achievements
-Friend system: You can add players to a list, and visit them when they are online, without the need of a LAN world or server
-There is a shop where you can buy maps, texture packs, skins, or a mix from the 3
-You can also unlock emotes to use in game
You can play this version in consoles, mobile devices and pc
-In mobile devices, you can hit, put blocks or activate devices and mobs from any part of the screen
    Cons:
    -Lag
-Less comands, and you must type the command manually, with no way to select the option faster like in Java
-The pause menu doesn't stop the game, it just opens a menu
-You must buy the pack in the shop to have music
-The Coins for the shop must be bought with real money
-No custom world options, like super-flat worlds
    -A big number of errors
    Java:
    Pros:
    -Less lag than Bedrock
-The pause menu stops completely the game, unless you're in a multiplayer world
    -Bigger list of commands
-Secret mobs, like the Giant and Illusioner
-Safer mod download sites and launchers
-You can put any item in your offhand slot, not just arrows, totems of undying, and shields like in Bedrock
    -Hardcore and Spectator modes
-Customizable super-flat and single biome worlds
    -Music implemented by default
-Sweeping, you can attack more than one enemy at the same time with swords
    Cons:
-Cooldown, which can be anoying when fighting a big number of mobs or a boss
-Wither boss is less of a challenge than in Bedrock
-You can only obtain Armor Stands with arms through commands
-You must open a LAN world or enter a server to play with friends
    -Less animations than Bedrock
-Axe deals more damage than swords(makes fighting Vindicators and Piglin Brutes harder)
-Achievements don't do anything more than mark your progress inside a world
That was all I could think of
I have played both versions of the game before posting this comment, so I have my own experience with them. Personally, I think both versions are good

I like Java better mainly because of the fact of how easy it is to switch versions. I’m mainly a 1.8 player, so I play on Hypixel a lot. Unfortunately, bedrock doesn’t have Hypixel and other godly servers. Besides, the combat update isn’t even that bad. It introduced a better mechanic to the game. Overall, bedrock is cool, but Java is definitely my dsvotite

1:26 Because youtubers and streamers need servers, plugins, mods for Minecraft. And I think that pure vanilla survival in Bedrock will be not so good to prosuce for TH-cam because everyone will get bored. Bedrock is really new, and is written on entirely different programming language(Mods use Java class files to modify Minecraft, but C++ can't just accept some outer-world Lua(scripting language, which is oftenly used as a modding language WITH C++), program has to have a proper modding support). So the problem is in the lack of content for youtubers because Bedrock is newer than Java

Bedrock has vanilla ghost blocks. And items that need support don't. As well as the ability to prevent water or lava from going past a certain point. And all of this is done with the help of the structure void, which you're able to place items on and of which lava and water can't pass. It's essentially a walkthrough barrier. Java also has a structure void, but it's literally just an air block. On top of that, Bedrock can give their armor stands weapons and shields, allowing for you to both place your items with your armor and have more possibilities for builds. And the cherry on top: Potion cauldrons. While, yes, Java is less buggy and is more refined, Bedrock has more useful features.
