The fnf fandom. It's a mix of extremes. You can literally find groups of talents like coders, artists and composers making god-tier mods, and then you watch the fans whining about a bunch of extra arrows threatening to cancel a mod. Oh, or complaining a character has excessive curves when it's literally proportioned.

Some of them have even been trying to say Ace Attorney is a knock-off of Danganronpa and I'm sitting here like, "Danganronpa was made in like 2016 Ace Attorney had existed since 2002-" Edit: I apologize, I estimated on the time Danganronpa came out, and have been informed it came out in 2010. But regardless, Danganronpa is MUCH younger than ace attorney. I made this point when Ace attorney Chronicals was being advertised all over Instagram, some Danganronpa fans claimed it was a copy of Danganronpa and when I informed them AA existed longer, they argued with me and claimed that Ace attorney wouldn't be coming out recently if it was made before Danganronpa. I had to then inform them that AA Chronicals, is the newest game in the series. They became quiet after that. But man that fandom is so hard to interact with.

The story with Helltaker is actually slightly interesting. (not the ingame story I mean the game itself) The developer was upset that demon men are usually drawn in suits while demon women are usually drawn in basically bikinis. (relatively speaking) So he made a game full of demon women in suits, and then released it so that people would draw more demon women in suits. And it worked.

I'm going to say this... Every fanbase has it's bad apples. And those bad apples tend to be the loudest as well. I have and still am a fan of most series here mentioned with some i have grown out of. Even if your fanbase has the stigma of being toxic, remember that you can be the exception and perhaps shed some light through the toxicity.
The best example of the bad apples not only being the loudest, but also the most numerous, is Fortnite. They kinda make people assume the ENTIRE PLAYERBASE are either raging 5-14 year olds, or TH-camrs.

Now don’t you dare question where I got this information from (ok fine I was in the Undertale fandom at one point and the Bendy comics simply came with the territory), but the Bendy fandom broke into another grosser branch with this one comic where Bendy has to find the ink machine cuz he has some type of cancer or something. This comic single handedly connected the yaoi part of the bendy fandom with the cup head fandom as well as the old Disney cartoon fandom (Mickey and Minnie, Oswald and Ortensia) as well as Felix the Cat, to make some weird yaoi kawaii anime hellhole of a fandom for a bunch of husbando-fied old-school cartoon characters. I don’t even know at this point man, where does the Internet get this stuff from?
I would say Lofi is more a community than a fandom, but that's just me arguing semantics. The people are chill and caring (or stoned), and the music is always great. it's one of the communities i have no shame in being a part of, and actually inspires me to make my own music

The whole franchise has definitely had a very strange relationship with some of its own fans since Return of the Jedi, really.

Something I've learned long ago on the internet. Everyone is weird, everyone is horny, so long as you don't judge it won't usually escalate farther than that. Not to say you can't disagree with what people are into, but you aren't in charge of them nor are they hurting anyone (usually), so no need to involve yourself with them. Also all fandoms have shitty people, even the good ones. The ratios are just skewed. I still think the best fandom in the world in the Earthbound one. No matter the twisted shit I'm sure exists, nothing can erase the feeling of pure joy and optimism that fandom exudes.
I just try not to associate myself with fandoms cause when people have opinions or fanfics i disagree with it kinda skews my perception of the material im consuming. And everytime i watch that peice of media it always gets ruined cause all i can think of is the fandom behind it.

A lot of the fandoms can be pretty "neither good, nor bad, just something else". It really depends on where you put your foot. I've put my foot into many weird and annoying territories but I learned one thing: It's almost always irrational kids or teens that weren't taught proper respect or just have the need to be really vocal about everything. Sometimes it's best to enjoy things with a limit and learn to take hits from people who might quite rightfully be telling you that you're a bit too quirky. just don't drive people to offing themself, that's never a good thing, I know you might be young and have no idea what power you hold but man

Best fandom i've seen is the dwarf fortress fandom. Their moto litterally is "losing is fun" and they just kinda want to help people who just got in. No backseat gaming, no elitism, just tips
They invented their own martial art by superb tactical use of in-game grappling and wrestling mechanics, an if that isn't badass I don't know what is. One of the techniques is literally a running dropkick on the opponent, but you grapple their shield at the last second to occupy it, sending them flying into a wall and you with this shield.
I try to stay in a little bubble with all fandoms, so I never really get into the toxic parts of it. All the people I know are really chill about it too.

One anime fandom I really hate is the Evangelion community, especially on social media. A fandom, dedicated to praising a series that portrays the cost of trauma, downplayed my own. Not only did they cyberbully me for my depression, but the majority of them also went so far as to send me death threats and dox me too, all during Lockdown.
I’m part of the evangelion fandom and I feel SO sorry for what you’ve been through like most of them are 50 years old men praising literally this serie and being mf or 12 years old girl that wants everything to be gay and discovered it w TikTok (both of them harassing anyone who tries to debate on the subject) 💀

In terms of the BTS fandom, I can't really speak about it seeing as I've never been in it but I used to be a cringey kid in the gacha fandom so maybe I can bring something there (I did *not* create or watch heat or anything remotely like that, weird af). It's a mix of children and trolls imo. Aside from trolls and heat, taking in the best the fandom has to offer, I'm sorry but it's just dumb. Even some of the best written stuff there goes heavily underrated (which is meh at best) and the popular things turn out cringey and pretty tropeish. Gacha heat, probably trolls I'm not going to add much else because I don't think I really can, and the antigacha community is just as frustrating and toxic while pretending to play hero for bullying a bunch of kids and further motivating trolls to create more vile and increasingly brain frying content thus creating a miserable loop. Whitty set up the popularity and back then, the community WAS fun at most, *(almost)* everyone was chill, ships were at low, etc etc. Then more and more mods started, and the community began exploding because of the popularity. Nowadays? It's full of toxic 8 year olds that can't stop making ships, attack anyone for anything, infect OTHER games and well... *Do I have to mention that someone said new grounds stole Tricky and Hank from fnf?*
Generalisation at its finest, but without the scientific "objectivity" i think Just a reminder that any fandom can be pretty chill, it's a question of curating ur space and choosing the right people :) and avoiding tiktok at all costs

I'm going to say this... Every fanbase has it's bad apples. And those bad apples tend to be the loudest as well. I have and still am a fan of most series here mentioned with some i have grown out of. Even if your fanbase has the stigma of being toxic, remember that you can be the exception and perhaps shed some light through the toxicity.
The best example of the bad apples not only being the loudest, but also the most numerous, is Fortnite. They kinda make people assume the ENTIRE PLAYERBASE are either raging 5-14 year olds, or TH-camrs.

That’s where they were wrong, because it still lives, and in the absolute worst way possible. Now don’t you dare question where I got this information from (ok fine I was in the Undertale fandom at one point and the Bendy comics simply came with the territory), but the Bendy fandom broke into another grosser branch with this one comic where Bendy has to find the ink machine cuz he has some type of cancer or something. This comic single handedly connected the yaoi part of the bendy fandom with the cup head fandom as well as the old Disney cartoon fandom (Mickey and Minnie, Oswald and Ortensia) as well as Felix the Cat, to make some weird yaoi kawaii anime hellhole of a fandom for a bunch of husbando-fied old-school cartoon characters. I don’t even know at this point man, where does the Internet get this stuff from?
The best "fandom" I have been in is the Lofi fandom, and it isn't really a fandom. You check the comments and it is either about self care or vibes.
I would say Lofi is more a community than a fandom, but that's just me arguing semantics. The people are chill and caring (or stoned), and the music is always great. it's one of the communities i have no shame in being a part of, and actually inspires me to make my own music

Something I've learned long ago on the internet. Everyone is weird, everyone is horny, so long as you don't judge it won't usually escalate farther than that. Not to say you can't disagree with what people are into, but you aren't in charge of them nor are they hurting anyone (usually), so no need to involve yourself with them.
Also all fandoms have shitty people, even the good ones. The ratios are just skewed. I still think the best fandom in the world in the Earthbound one. No matter the twisted shit I'm sure exists, nothing can erase the feeling of pure joy and optimism that fandom exudes.

A lot of the fandoms can be pretty "neither good, nor bad, just something else". It really depends on where you put your foot.
I've put my foot into many weird and annoying territories but I learned one thing: It's almost always irrational kids or teens that weren't taught proper respect or just have the need to be really vocal about everything.
Sometimes it's best to enjoy things with a limit and learn to take hits from people who might quite rightfully be telling you that you're a bit too quirky.

Best fandom i've seen is the dwarf fortress fandom. Their moto litterally is "losing is fun" and they just kinda want to help people who just got in. No backseat gaming, no elitism, just tips

Take bts fandom, cut in half, (shippers and non shippers) divide the two by each member inside BTS. Cut it a 4:1 ratio. (4 parts toxic 1 part non toxic). There you have it. BTS fandom.
They're the fandoms with mostly children/kids under 16 so they're immature, expectedly.
In terms of the BTS fandom, I can't really speak about it seeing as I've never been in it but I used to be a cringey kid in the gacha fandom so maybe I can bring something there (I did *not* create or watch heat or anything remotely like that, weird af). It's a mix of children and trolls imo. Aside from trolls and heat, taking in the best the fandom has to offer, I'm sorry but it's just dumb. Even some of the best written stuff there goes heavily underrated (which is meh at best) and the popular things turn out cringey and pretty tropeish. Gacha heat, probably trolls I'm not going to add much else because I don't think I really can, and the antigacha community is just as frustrating and toxic while pretending to play hero for bullying a bunch of kids and further motivating trolls to create more vile and increasingly brain frying content thus creating a miserable loop. There are no winners no matter what team you side with over there

It's full of toxic 8 year olds that can't stop making ships, attack anyone for anything, infect OTHER games and well... *Do I have to mention that someone said new grounds stole Tricky and Hank from fnf?*
