- Let's change that Facebook group from closed to open to the public in this quick and easy guide.
Facebook lets you create groups and change privacy and visibility. If you set your group to be private and visibility as hidden no one can see the group unless they have a link to the group and an invite. However, you can change the visibility to be public or open so that anyone can see the group. However, they will still need to request access to the group. There's no way to change the group settings to allow anyone to join after you've already made it as a private account. You would have to create a new group on Facebook. This works the same for both iPhone and Android in 2021.

I just started my group and I have it private. As far as visible, I changed it to hidden. Now that I want to make it visible, but still private, people are not able to find my group on Facebook. This does not make sense to me. I trying to fix it. I have invited a friend and she is not able to see the invite; other people that I invited were able to see it. I wonder if it is because they are friends with me on my personal Facebook page. Sorry I know I am all over the place but I NEED Help 🤦🏻♀️😊
Change it back to private (Hidden group) it should solve the issue that’s what I did with my group

Once I clicked on it again, for it to be visible and not hidden; clicked on save, it actually solved the problem. I very much appreciate you for reaching out to me; helping. You're going to walk us through "how to change a Facebook closed group to public"? NO, you didn't do that. So this is really, "How to Change a Private Group From Hidden to Visible or Visible to Hidden." Apparently most of us responding already knew this. I was hoping there was a secret way to change a private group to hidden.
Situation - I am an admin of a group that was formerly public. Since taking it from public to private, our posts have nosedived to one or two per week. It would seem that this is unrelated to traffic but that is exactly what's happened.
So why did you do a video with this title ? You showed how to make a closed group VISIBLE not PUBLIC.

That is so BS they used to be a way to do it I used to have a group that was once public made it private and made it public again and then went back to private and I'm trying to go public again but it won't let me

YOU CHANGE PRIVATE GROUP INTO PUBLIC IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 5000 MEMBERS THEY ONLY GIVE 24 HOURS
Any idea how to change PRIVACY of an EVENT? ie from "Friends Only" to "Friends Can Invite..." It currently wont let me (red arrow over that area when i try to edit).
Usually an option when you first create the event, at the top I believe.
