Thanks for demystifying this process! One question, did you use your personal Facebook account to set up your group? I would prefer not to post as myself but rather under the group name.
Great video! I learned a lot. I can't seem to find an answer to this complaint I have from a member: "Why do I get notified when someone joins the group. Turn it off!" I can't figure out how to do that for them. Thoughts?

Great video Jerry. I was hoping to find a way to require post approval JUST for businesses posting in our group. We don't want to have to approve posts for regular members. But it looks like it's all or nothing. True?
Hello there, I am adding a Facebook group to our church page and your content has been very helpful. Thank you! I have one question and wondering if you could help me out. When people search our group on the app, they are unable to find it. We can only find it if it's on a computer. Do you know why or what I can do about this?
Where can I find the welcome post I created? I’ve been searching all day and nowhere to be found! Unfortunately, I don’t have a copy of what I authored!
None of these things helped me figure out why my Facebook group does not show up in search. It is public, visible, active...but does not show up when people search for it. On Google is says no information is available for this page. I always wondered why the other group gets all the members and I do all the work. Everyone tags me on the other group because they think it is my page. If I start over with a new group I lose the 1.6 thousand people who have been there for 6 years. HELP!
You have the same layout I do. I CAN NOT figure out where "GROUP TYPE" is... Trying to change it to "Social Learning" but it's nowhere to be found!

Hi I have a rental accommodation group and unfortunately there is a lot of scammers comment in my page what to do about them any idea .
I am a member of a large, private group whose front page for non members just shows “about” and 3 items under group activity. It doesn’t show admin name or rules or anything until joining. How do I do that? I just created a group and on the front page before joining it says I’m the admin (which I’d prefer to hide until people are members), shows location, rules, shows private, visible… how do I have the non member page be simple? How do I have them agree to the rules when submitting request to join?
We have a local High School group with only 1 admin (& no mods) and that person passed away and has been taken over by scammer posts. Is there a way for someone to get appointed admin for this group ?
I have an issue I am an adminstrator of a Facebook Group. I noticed recently that my posts are not stating that I am the administrator of the group, this sems to have vanished. What is causing this and is there away of correcting it? My posts are only showing my name and not the admin. status next to it as it was doing. Very frustrating.

I just made a group private. I want it visible so I selected visible. Nobody can search for it. What am I doing wrong. I know private groups can search for groups to join. I’d like to add questions for them to join as well. I had this all set up but then mistakenly selected private now it’s all messed up. hELP!🤷♀️
What would you suggest for a really active facebook group that wants to limit the number of people who can sign up for events? It's a hiking group with 2000+ members, and as you can imagine, having 50 people sign up for a hike is a problem! I found that business accounts/pages can add a ticketing function, but I'm not sure where that leaves us for a solution since the group is not part of a business. All events are free and currently anyone can post an event to the group, fyi.
You'd have to use a different tool. Maybe Eventbrite? There used to be a Facebook integration with Eventbrite, but I'm not sure it's still works.
Why are some people allowed to be requested and invited in, and it goes through fine, and others in your Friends list are not able to be added in? As far as I know, the setting is allowed for anyone to invite anyone. It's a private family page. My cousin isn't able to invite his friends/family. Frustrating.
Any suggestions or help you can give me?

how can i get my guides button all the way to the left like it is on your group page?
I don't think there is any way to move the Guides button. It shows at the top on mobile and desktop, unless you're IN the guides in which case it shows up on the left.
I cannot find the tags section, I believe it´s not there. Has this recently been removed?

I'm going out of my mind with Facebook. I set up a group 8 months ago, a small number of members 1k. I have it set so that I approve all posts before they're posted. Recently I've noticed it's automatically approving posts, I haven't changed any settings. 🤔Please help!!
Sounds like a bug, but double check your settings and make sure you are the ONLY one who can approve.

I like that part about removing a inactive admin… though 6 days is definitely to short of a period. I am in a group right now where the admin hasn’t been active since August 3rd, 2023. So as you can guess it has been over ram with scammers who have zero respect for the groups rules, smh. Many people including myself have tried to reach out to the old admin, and offer assistance with no luck. SMH

My group is locale specific but get massive requests to join from India, Bangladesh etc. is there a way to auto decline other countries?
Unfortunately not automatically. You can try and put that on your Cover Photo or in the first part of the group description so fewer non locals might apply.
You can also click More Filters on your Member Requests page and sort by location.

:( I didn't understand anything really, when I created a group mainly for family to follow me once I retired. Long story short, I made it private, but others ha e joined, then it just went dead, so I thought maybe I should go back public. 🥺
Why has FB removed the ability to change our group pages from public to private? FB removed the icon in the top right corner of our group pages and removed “Manage Group” option from our group pages. People are posting porn on our pages and we can’t change the privacy settings.
