    1. Just like India needs Russia for defense spares and equipment, Pak Army needs USA. Besides, other issues like FATCA, IMF Loans, trade etc. So openly anti USA stand of Imran was not acceptable to Pak Army.
    2. It is a fact that Pak Army controls everything. Any PM can do some mischief for a while but finally Army prevails. Ruling party or opposition parties hardly matters. In fact, the cost of show of democracy is huge and unnecessary for Pakistan. It should ideally go back to Ayub Khan days.
    3. India Pak relations can never improve. Kashmir problem cannot be solved, now or later. India's visceral hatred by Pakistan can never go away. Continuing enmity with India is the existential issue for Pak Army and the nation.
    4. Once this is understood well, we can deal easily with Pakistan from time to time.

However much we outside Pakistan might think badly about Imran Khan, fact remains that Imran Khan has presented to Pakistan a narrative, which it seems 90% of Pakistan has rallied around.
I don't know what results elections are going to throw up, but the fact remains Bajwa and the army have become villians in the eyes of the people and Imran the hero of the moment.
Imran or no Imran, his narrative is there to stay. This is going to be a major predicament for the establishment for many many years to come.

When basic character of the Polity and pseudo Democracy is such that it cannot separate or control the Army, Nothing can change! Puppets can change their gestures off and on! But the Army owns this Country! Christine Fair is correct! General Bajwa will vamoose!
