  • In this informative video, you'll learn how to install an electronic water pressure sensor on your Evinrude ETEC 60-degree six-cylinder motor. Specifically, we'll be working with a 2009 150 HO Evinrude ETEC. Attaching this sensor to the EMM and the NMEA 2000 network lets you easily monitor water pressure in real-time. It is hooked to a Lowrance Elite FS 9 via NMEA 2000 network. Whether you're a seasoned boater or just starting out, this video will provide valuable insight into ensuring water pressure. Without water pressure, your motor will overheat and may seize.
I'll be sharing the parts I used for this project. I've included all the links below, so you can easily find them if you want to try this out for yourself.

nice video nice explainations. my 012 175hp doesn't have this sensor just a hose to the mechanical gauge. so I guess when I connect the NMEA2K I'll still be using the old gauge.

I use both. I put in a tee so that I have redundancy using both the old analog gauge and the NEMA 2K on my graph

Awesome video. Can't wait to add this to my 115 E tec. Did you have to go in with Diagnostic Software to enable the water pressure output signal from the EMM?

Yes, you have to enable it with Diagnostic Software.

Is there a reason you used 1/4 hose not 1/8 hose for the whole setup?

Thanks for the comment. I used the 1/4 hose for Strength, longevity, availability and durability with the heat and vibration under the cowl. I wanted to do it once and never touch it again.

Will that part make the hot alarm go off?

No, It will only give the digital water pressure

@@James-bb2ke Could be thermostats, water pressure relief valve, blockage somewhere, or sensors. Does it happen at low RPM or higher RPM? If low, could be the thermostat. If high it could be the water pressure relief valve. Do you have a water pressure gauge?
