These rifles should be produced again and sold to public,they would be good home defense weapons.It is really amazing that in the times of Lewis and Clark and Napoleon´s wars there was an airgun better than many modern airguns and even better than firearms of those times.
@phgHunter well, you're pump is precision-drilled and uses a lot of good rubber seals, thats what it makes so effective. i think the guys 1750 or even earlier didn't even know rubber...
Some things I have an issue with: #1 Rolled and riveted steel is NOT air or even water tight. The original tanks were dipped in molten copper or brass to achieve "airtightness" #2 Lewis knew that his airgun was 'Big Medicine', and he used the superstitions of the indian tribes to his and the expeditions advantage. They were safe because they were respected for their 'medicine'. #3 800 psi is not 'extremely high pressure'. Wonder what the pressure in their SCUBA or SCBA tank was, hmm?
@chrisbenoit1967 Little correction, it wasn't Napoleon who had the air rifle, it was the Austrians who used it againts Napoleons troops. I remeber reading that it was so feared by the French that any Austrian sniper caught with it was sumarilly executed.
@Myrmidon26 Things like this do NOT seem to be available today. The closest thing I've seen to it Career Dragon Slayer 50. I know it can't do 40 shots in a row, and it's a LOT louder than this weapon.

Those "modern" big bore air guns typically are not Rifled they are smooth bores and suck at 50 yards.
Can't hear the dialog w/ the background drum track. Do away w/the background track.
