Photographing the Prairie Creek Redwoods (I found a secret waterfall!)

In this travel / landscape photography vlog I attempt to photograph the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park in Northern California. Due to the constant rain that comes in the winter on the west coast. I was feeling a bit down but that didn't stop me from getting out and exploring the Redwoods one last time on this landscape photography trip. So I decided to embark on a medium distance hike through various groves of redwoods in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. Though wet, it got me out of my funk and I was able to work with some of the beautiful trees in the wet and rainy conditions photographically speaking. However, you won't see any of those photographs in the video because I accidentally deleted them... oops. Nevertheless I share a Redwoods adventure from the year before in 2023 that I did in the same area (Prairie Creek Redwoods) at Fern Canyon. I waded up the canyon maybe a half mile through all the thicket and old growth brush to find a secret waterfall that I discovered on a trail crossing the canyon. Fern Canyon was beautiful and adventurous! And, as you'll see I was able to capture some of my favorite photographs of last year in Fern Canyon. Nevertheless I hope you enjoy this travel / landscape photography vlog.

The Prairie Creek Redwoods is one of my favorite redwoods state parks for landscape photography as it offers a great diversity of forest scenery and trails. From waterfalls to massive groves of redwoods, to the coastal scenery is a gem in Northern California. I'd highly recommend a visit to the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park as well as its beautiful and famous Fern Canyon for your landscape photography and outdoor adventures.
