Brilliant idea to show the process in reverse. Thanks for the verbal instructions and not having annoying music in the background like some so many of these how to videos.
Dyeing is my life
🤬🤬
wedding song sameer chohan I wanna die too! This is different tho- 😑 They color a shirt to die?
I'm impressed by your sophisticated level of knowledge on this topic. Thanks for the very clear video and tips.
Brilliant. Great video and good direction. Thanks
This is so helpful, I've been wanting a shirt like this for the longest time and I could never get it right!
is the shirt wet before you start? and also is the sodium mix necessary?
@@lindapecaj4570 Yes you need to let your shirt soaked in soda ash for at least 20 minutes or so, in my personal experience I let the shirt in soda ash for about a day after that I squeeze the excess of water from the shirt but it is still wet, so you start making your spiral or your pleats, use the rubber bands but stretch them enough to get a rounded spiral so that way you will get more dye into your shirt, If you don't stretch the rubber bands the tension will make your spiral like a ball so it will be harder to get more dye into the pleats, I mean it depends on the result you want to get, in my case I rather very saturated dyes so I make my spirals rounded and extended. after you dye your shirt let it seat in a plastic bag for about three days, that's what I do, but you can just wait 24 hours, that's enough, you take it out from the bag, you rinse it with clean water until the water comes clean and you let it dry! That's it.
Add me on Instagram I'm starting on this too! but I love it: @atsuko_san19
you can add me on skype too so we can share tips and results! dan.atsuko
Have a great day!
This is so PRO! Amazing work 😍 Thanks, this helped to me so much 😊
You inspired me to do a shirt for my son and myself and let me tell you, you're amazing and it totally worked for us! Thank you for the amazing video
This video helped me so much!!! Before my shirts were faded but now they are vibrant and colorful. Thank you so much your die makes all the difference will never use tulip again!
Thanks, mtickleberry! Actually you start by soaking your shirt in a solution of soda ash. You then apply the dye. You then "batch" the shirt. "Batching" is what it is called when you wrap the fabric in plastic (to keep it wet longer) and leave it in a warm place for up to 24 hours. This allows the dye some time to react with the fiber, which is how you achieve brilliant colors. If you check out the other vidoes in this series (there are six), you can see the whole process.
Yes! All of Jacquard's Tie Dye Kits come with soda ash. We include everything you need to begin tie dyeing (except, of course, for T-shirts)!
Thank you so much for your videos got every thing I needed to tye die and the soda ash but both kits had no directions! This was great and you are clearly a expert
Thank you so much!!! This helped A LOT!!!!
The dye is Procion MX. It is a fiber reactive dye that is fixed with soda ash. Where most dyes require very hot temperatures, the Procion can be used with warm tap water.
im getting a kit fir chrismas thanks fir the video i really enjoyed this oppurtunity to learn how to do tie dye the way i want too!!!!

I could just kiss you for posting this! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My daughter wants to have a tie dye party for her 7th birthday in 3 weeks and I needed a refresher on how to do it, it's been a while since I've done it. I will check my Aaron Brothers tomorrow and see if they have your dyes. You did an excellent job! *Muah!* :)
Thank you for starting with the finished product that helped so much visually!! More tie dye videos need to be like yours!!
I’m gonna try this with some onesies for my baby!!! Awesome tutorial. You’re very talented
I did it last year and it worked 😍 I took an A+

The dye is mixed with warm tap water. After it has rested for at least 12 hours remove the rubber bands and rinse until the water runs clear.

Love these dyes! They are bright and stay bright after several washings. Found them on Amazon.
R Dray hey could u send me the Amazon link of the dyes ? thanks
After you have dyed the shirt and allowed it to set for 12 hours, you must rinse it in cool water and then put it through the washing machine. Use Synthrapol to help reduce the risk of back staining.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful design.
I love this tutorial!

Hello, can you please explain to me the process?
What is soda Ash?
Caustic soda and hydrosulphate are the main ingredients for tie and dye.without these ingredients the colours will fade away,am talking from a Nigerian perspective.
Hobby lobby has soda ash you soak your dry shirts in it for couple hours are after 24 hours and it keeps the colors from fading so so good and so - rang it out wrap it up to whatever shape you want it to be and then start putting color on it
this video help's me to my project amazing!!!! super easy
TOTALLY GROOVY!

Hello, as a good customized clothing company, we can customize tie-dye t-shirts, hoodies, sportswear and other clothes for you. We can also customize your own logo or badge for you. If you like, please give me your email, and I will send you the tie-dye attachment.
I like how your shirt came out. You inspired me to make my own video you should take a look at it.
First, the colors will be about half as bright to begin with. Less of the dye will stay in the fabric, but those that do will be permanent.

Worked so well ! Thankyou !
Thanks for the great tutorial, I cant wait to make some killer shirts!
I dyed a shirt today and I soaked it in soda ash. Dyed it. Covered it. Let it sit for 5 hours. Rinsed it. And it looked fine, but after I washed it half the colors were gone. Tips?
+thealg101 That's really odd, that shouldn't happen...maybe you need to do a gentle wash...
At The end of The video she said: "now we wait for 24 hours"
+Crazypanda thanks, next time i'll wait a little longer.
+Wolfmyth100 thanks for the help, i think my dye was a little old too :/
the shirt is dry before you apply dye?
how to make it without white spots?
The shirt is damp before dyeing--it should be soaked in a solution of soda ash. But the drier it is, the less white areas you will likely have. Also, using warm or hot water in your dyes will reduce white space.
thanks for the additional tips.
What is soda ash
Thank you, nice guide. I will try that at home and let you known how will it turn out. Oh btw you done a great job on that t shirt.
Great video and thank you for sharing with us, now all I have to do is get my daughter to open her kit and begin making Tie dye spirals Ts for her dad (me).
what is that colored syrup?
it's dye
xD
very creative tshirt
The brand is Jacquard, the product is Procion MX, and the colors are 004 Lemon Yellow, 034 Magenta and 068 Turquoise. These are also the colors that come in Jacquard's Tie Dye Kits.
Excelente vídeo !
The shirt you are dying does it start off wet or dry??
Katie Orr it is damp. We always pre-soak the fabric in a solution of soda ash and then wring it out before dyeing. The soda ash makes the colors bright and permanent, and it is easier to tie and bind a damp shirt.
Damp
Katie Orr. So Beautiful
jacquardproducts What kind of color are them? Acrylic colors?
jacquardproducts
Tell me please what soda ash is.
HowToBasic brought me here.
Omg SAME BECAUSE his silly vid 😂

Me encantó., super padre!!!
thank you!!!!! awesome!!!
i'll do it for mi kids. xoxo from Argentina!
when i make the spiral there always is so much white in :(
+iCubaZ You can take your fingers and massage the fabric a bit to make sure the dye goes all through the fabric. Sounds like you just aren't putting enough dye on it.
Hahah, she said the tighter it is, less penetration and more white. ;D
Yes, that's correct. You want it to be damp so the colors will blend smoothly.
Hermoso trabajo!

gracias por enseñar tanto, es muy agradable, y facil de realizar
Wow I love it!
Thanks for the video. I did not realize you turned it over and dyed the back.
Soda ash can be bought anywhere that sells Procion MX dyes: your local art supply store or craft store (Jo-ann's fabric, Michaels, etc) will probably carry it. If not, you can use the store locator on the Jacquard Products website to find the store nearest to you that carries this product.
Very nice and very helpful thanks!
Super helpful, I ALWAYS mess up at the pinch and twist part of the tie-dye shirt.
Thanks for this informational video! :)
Quedan geniales me gusta!!!!
Yes. After dyeing rinse under warm running water. When the water runs clear put them in the washer and wash as usual.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
One question, if you could answer it: When you flip the shirt over, and you say to use the same colour where you used it on the front; what would happen if you used a different colour? Say blue on the front and red on the back? What would it make the shirt look like in the end o.O ?
Thanks if you can reply to this!
Thank you, this was very helpful :)
Is there an ideal concentration for the solution of the colors or is it just random? Incredible results by the way!
Thanks lady !! One love
Brilliant idea for tying and dying
al fin se como se haceee yiajuuuu!!
هذا رح نتعلموه صف تاسع ماشاء الله ابداع انا صنعت واحد طلع فن
a great method to be a hippie by the end of quarantine haha thank you!
hey, im from mexico and my problem here is that i dont have where to buy a dye kit, as i don´t think they are sold in my area!!! so here the only products i can get are those traditional dyes wich you solve in hot water and then place your shirts inside. Do you think that if i solve the dye in water and after let it dry, would achieve the same rsults as your dye kit?
how long does the dye keep for once it is made up? I would like to see how the first attempt turns out before I try again, but I don't know if the dye will go 'off'.
Jacquard Procion MX dyes. The colors are: 004 Lemon Yellow, 034 Magenta and 068 Turquoise. Find them in a store near you by using the store locator on the Jacquard website!
If you go on the Jacquard Products website, you can use the Store Locator to find a store near you that carries the dye. Most arts and craft stores will have it.
Thank you and success!
Hi! I can see that the effect of the first shirt is different and I guess it is due to the feathers being more loose, isn't it?
Also the colour range is different too. Which colours did you use for the first shirt?
Thank you I have been looking for video one how to do it! :)
Really good tye dying really useful
As long as you follow the directions yes you can !
oh , what is this creativity ? lt makes sense that you have done this well ?
Although we do not have neon colors our Procion MX Dyes are very vibrant !
You certainly can. It's all a matter of what look you're going for,
Hi Jason ! The Procion MX dye colors are Lemon Yellow #004, Magenta # 034 and Turquoise #068.
Very nice and ,beautiful keep it sharing, nice one👍natural
Check out the 4th video in this series, "Jacquard Products Presents: Tying and Dyeing Rainbow Stripes (Pt.4)HD." It shows you how to make stripes. You would do it the same way but using camo color instead of rainbow colors. Did you know we have a Camo Tie Dye Kit?
