@Chemical Guys Do I need to clay bar the windows, and Jet Seal before adding Hydroslick? Or just wash with waterless wash & wax and clean the windows with window cleaner than hydro and that's it? Thanks in advance 👍
That looks awesome...but what about cars that have cameras on the windshield for keep lane assist, and other safety features...is it ok to coat the windshield in front of that camera?
One down side they never talk about when selling these glass additives is, when driving the spray of other vehicles has grit in it and when it hits the glass the water dissipates so quick it leave the grit behind on the glass. Eventually the window get hard to look out off so you hit the water jets to clean the mostly dirt screen and the water from the jet hits the glass and dissipates so fast again the wipers end up scratching dirt across the screen dry.
Just purchased this today at Autozone and treated both car windshields. Looking forward to seeing the snow flying off! Thanks from the People’s Republic of CONNECTICUT
It won’t. Ceramic coatings bond to the glass. It’s quite literally just new glass as SiO2 is glass. They’re just formulated to be more hydrophobic than regular glass. it’s similar to the stuff they put on your phones out of the factory
Looks nice but probably wear off. Buy PIAA wipers!!! Hands down best wipers, no skipping, noise, clear windshield like rainx does. Last a very long time. Only wipers we buy now,
I have a question about this product: How does the product behave under heat? Curious because I would like to use this product on the rear window of my car which does not have a wiper and just collects tons of water at the moment pretty much blocking a good portion of the view...
@@ChemicalGuys awesome, I’m excited to try it out. Gonna visit the store this weekend and start my glass care kit. Towels, clay bars, glass cleaner and the clay lubricants. Although I don’t know which glass cleaner to go with. There’s 3 of them
Looked like on the treated side he sprayed the water above the windshield and let it run down but sprayed the water directly at the windshield on the untreated side.
Just got mine in the mail today. Seems really runny/watery. I don't think it will come out of the bottle the way yours did in the video. Is mine not right?
I am considering purchasing Is it okay to install Hydro Slick on Matte Black wheels? I would like to test if the performance is higher than the glass coating in Japan, so please give me some advice.
Hey! We recommend applying HydroSlick after polishing the vehicle. Then after you apply it you may follow it up wit a glaze, sealant, or wax. Thanks for watching and happy detailing!
Becuse the bottle is way more cooler cuz all the colors and stuff, plus its 39.99 for a 16oz bottle wheres rain.x is much cheaper and the bottom does not look nearly as cool. DUH!!!
Adam Bennett best reply ever. Cheap products get cheap results. And you can coat your car with it. Try that 💩 with rainx if you want to and you’ll be sorry.
Actually, for glass, Rain X is better, or even just paste carnuba works better. I tried this product on my glass, and I tried their Jet Seal on my glass. For your windshield, either one works really well, right up until the second you need to use your wipers. This will happen, because at slow speeds, the wind will not blow the water off your glass. The very first time you use your wipers, Hydroslick and Jet Seal lose all effectiveness. The wipers destroy the smooth finish that beads water. IMO, paste carnuba wax works best if you allow it to fully cure before it gets wet. But the sealants like Hydroslick should only be used for glass without wipers - side or rear glass. If it never gets wipers, it does work better than wax or Rain-X.
Hey! We are working hard on restocking this item. We recommend checking back within a few business days to check inventory. Thanks for watching and happy detailing!
There is no reason to put it on the inside of the windshield. The whole point of putting a coat on glass is so water can bead off. No water gets on the inside.
I saw one at my local Detail Garage the last time I was in there. It was a small funnel that screwed on to the top of a bottle. I didn't get one on that visit but will on a future visit.
In my experience, right up until the moment you need your wipers (heavy rain, too slow to blow the water off). The wipers pretty much kills effectiveness.
It's not specifically for windows, but can be used. Why buy another product when you can use this as well. You don't use a lot of product to notice your pockets getting lighter....
I bought this product off Amazon based on the video. I first applied it to my windshield (exterior) and it created a darkened area where the wipers don't hit. On top of that it was impossible to remove from my windshield. I applied a thin coat of it and even let it sit for 5min. What did I do wrong? I also put this on my 2017 Ram with black paint and it streaked and I couldn't get it off. Did I get bad product or what?! I want to like this stuff.

A very reasonable question… no answers @ChemicalGuys ?
Hydroslick would replace jet seal. Yes clean and clay before using
That looks awesome...but what about cars that have cameras on the windshield for keep lane assist, and other safety features...is it ok to coat the windshield in front of that camera?

Should I use the jet seal or the Hydro slick just curious for the glass protection
I used Jetseal on my wife’s cat and the hydrophobic properties were outstanding. I have no experience with Hydro Slick
@@petebrandstrom1038 This video isnt about Jetseal,,,,,,,,,,, this is way better, use it or STFU!
One reason I hate treating my Windows is it makes the wipers all jittery and skips.
Try a past wax it smooths it out for me
Yeah me too super strange you’d think it would make them even smoother. I’ll try paste wax like Kyle suggested.

You're gonna love HydroSlick.
Did you do a rain and windshield video without using your wipers... afraid of wiping off your product ?
Would you still recommend this or hydroview?
Both are great choices for water beading action on your windows.
Does it also protect it from fogging up? Like if you used it inside the glass
How often do you recommend doing this?
Just purchased this today at Autozone and treated both car windshields.
Looking forward to seeing the snow flying off!

What do you need to do to the window before putting the hydroslick?
Should I clay the windshield BEFORE applying it? I’ll definitely get some thanks for the demo
Kia Possessor you need too so you don’t scratch the window
For best results you can. Claying will remove all embedded dirt.
Dont the wiper blades “scratch” it off after a few times?
PresGames this is the reason I don’t like any rain repellent on my windshield
It won’t. Ceramic coatings bond to the glass. It’s quite literally just new glass as SiO2 is glass.
They’re just formulated to be more hydrophobic than regular glass. it’s similar to the stuff they put on your phones out of the factory
After you put that on can you use window cleaner on your next wash, or will the window cleaner take the coating off.
How about road salt, like after a snow storm?
Why did they not answer this question ?

Don't think so because it's applied on the outside
