100% right 👍... Watched it earlier today for old time sakes, and I remember the last time I watched was on 12/4/15 and the reason I remember that was because the next day I got back home from work the inevitable happened. Scott Weiland of The Stone Temple Pilots passed away. The weird thing too was I was listening to them the night before as well and I just had that bad feeling as if something did not feel right for a moment like a gut feeling that his time was finally up. But anyways.. Watching Chasing Amy today I realized that this movie has aged pretty well unlike most 90's film (e.g. Mallrats).
I love her voice too. Her and Jennifer Tilly. If Joey Adams and Jennifer Tilly we're to each speak into my ears at the same time, I would die of immediate orgasm.
She's got a sense of humor about her work...that's great. She has no illusions (or delusions) about the business. She's aware of the fact that she's not always making great art. Sometimes (most of the time?) it's just product.
Joey Lauren Adams is a beautiful and talented women. Chasing Amy is my favorite of her movies. That movie is the best example of her tallents. Her performance is the biggest highlight for me. Not only is she funny and witty she really gives it her all in the dramatic parts to. I was shocked to hear her sing and she has a good singing voice to. Chasing Amy is a masterpiece.
"Chasing Amy" should have been nominated for an Oscar in 1998. For best original screen play, best director, and best picture. Granted they would have lost to "Titanic" but still. "Casing Amy" deserved to be nominated. It's a masterpiece.
The scene in Chasing Amy, pouring rain, Affleck opens completely to Alyssa how he feels, Alyssa screaming how unfair what he just did was, her running back to kiss him in the drenching rain... definitely one of if not THE best scenes of any movie, ever made. How Joey didn’t get nominated for some award for that role I’ll never know (my apologies if you were nominated for something in that role)
Chasing Amy showed how wonderfully tallented Joey Adams is. Even if she's trying to present it tongue in cheek, the movie could not be further. It's a dead serious and heartbraking drama about love and I bursted in tears during her magical performance in this movie. EVERYONE should watch that. Ignore everything you know or heard about Kevin Smith movies. Go and watch Chasing Amy!
I've been rewatching clips of Chasing Amy, which I used to watch over and over early in my relationship with my now husband. It's been a long time since I saw it, and I'm just being torn to emotional pieces watching all of her best scenes in it. Honestly, the scene where she's fighting with Affleck's character after the hockey game is probably the most realistic portrayal I've seen on film or TV of someone screaming/crying/arguing. Where your voice breaks and your a snotty screeching mess, and rewatching that scene, I just burst into tears.
Chasing Amy will be relevant even 50 years from now... It is pretty much on Shakespear's level because it deals with emotions and insecurities all of us have regardless of time and civilization.
Joey Lauren Adams is awesome. So damn likable and such a natural beauty. Per Wikipedia, she's 53. Still so beautiful! I'm watching Chasing Amy and wanted to learn more about her.
Not ashamed to admit I paused in mallrats glad you got the part also how crazy is it that they are brothers several years apart know I could've sworn it was the same London in mallrats and dazed and confused
She got a Golden Globe nomination for Chasing Amy and, in a certain way, I still feel it's the greatest role she ever played. I know she was dating the director during that time, and the movie *is* inspired by their relationship, something common in Kevin Smith's work, so maybe she didn't want to talk much about it. But it deserved a little bit more attention, I think,
My viewing doesn't count box office wise, because it was in a dollar theater, but I did see it there. Don't remember much of it though, because I was in an altered state.
Somehow she would stand out in a movie every time her unique voice and smile shows up.... not my favorite actress but, i could recognize her with my eyes closed just by hearing her random appearances, anyway, shes awesome !!!
She has such a great personality, voice and laugh and so beautiful. Seems like a down to earth chick who would be fun to hang out with. Netflix without the chill would be equally enjoyable as anything else.
Terribly underrated actress. She brings real emotion to her roles.
Chasing Amy is a masterpiece
AGREED!
Word...
Always in my top 10 personal list.
100% right 👍...

Charleston Rezz mallrats captured a entire generations culture
Didn't like her voice at first, but it grew on me. Plus she has one of the best smiles in the world.
I love her. She's so dam fine, and so "happy"... I mean c'mon, how can you not smile when she does?! She has an infectious smile!
Good point...she kinda reminds me of Ellie Kemper in that way...they're smiles..omg...and they kind of favor each other aswell
She really had the hottest smoker voices growing up. Loved her!
I love her voice too. Her and Jennifer Tilly.

Oh my God, I absolutely adored Joey Lauren Adams and after seeing this, still totally do.

"Chasing Amy" had that incredibly sad scene when she screams at Ben Affleck: "HOLDEN! I AM GAY!!" Her despair is just palpable.

I like JLA. Still has that sexy smoky voice, love her.
My god, she is gorgeous. Her voice is so amazing. I used to be annoyed by it, but it's become deeper over the years and a lot sexier.

Bio-Dome may not have been a big $ movie or great art, but it's comfort comedy. Cue it up on a bad day or any day and you'll feel better.
This was really fun and actually felt worth watching!

Joey is a masterpiece
Surprisingly, this is easily one of FoD's better videos. They should use this concept(or similar concepts) way more often in their clips.
Yes please.
