8 years ago today, Japan was struck with a huge earthquake and tsunami, and the following nuclear disaster. We have come so far after that, but there is so much more to overcome, which people are starting to forget. This cover feels like you are handing out a small flower for everyone so they can keep it in their heart and hold on to it. My heart is with all the people who lost their homes that day. I hope they can see the flowers bloom again in where they used to be. Thanks for the heartwarming cover Renee.

Renee - Thank you - as a child we watched the Sound of Music each and everytime it was on TV, it is the one time I saw my parents sing a long to a movie. Fast foward mom has been gone for 2 years and dad just left us on 2/23/19. While I am at peace with both being gone it still hurts. This morning I was a little down, I opened my feed and I saw this video. WOW, when the universe speaks it speaks loudly. Thank you for warming my heart.

I was in a tiny production of The Sound of Music in high school and sang this to my mom for approval constantly while I was practicing my lines. She died two months ago, I wish so badly that I could show her this now. Hoping that my sitting on my kitchen floor and listening to it while I think of her will reach her somehow. Thank you ❤️
When “The Sound of Music” came out in cinemas, my grandfather would take my mother to see it. Every time they re-released the film (which occurred a lot) they would watch it together. My mother lost her father due to cancer in 2001. She started the tradition with me and every year we watch it. I literally start crying every time I even think of the film. This particular song was my grandfather’s and I favourite. Unfortunately my mother’s health isn’t getting any better. I will alway cherish this song with all my heart. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful rendition of this song. It truly is a gift.
