I just remember beating the game on veteran I would choose the hardest difficulty the first time I played cod and it took me a while to beat it and felt so satisfying when o finally beat it. But also thinking damn what am I gonna play now. Just to see zombies show up. It was such an awesome feeling. 😂
Black ops one zombies is really where the storyline took off as you pointed out in the video these were just fun maps, and they retcon a story later. Black ops 1 really is about richtofens journey to take down Samantha and they give you a backstory for world at war in the process. Can’t wait for the next one!!!! 🔥🤣🤣
Going game by game works a lot better in my opinion, since we can understand context of the story by looking at it the way we would have experienced the maps by there release, as opposed to a six hour long video that throws so much info at you it gets tiring to watch.

Even tho I prefer the chronological order for the lore's cohesion and understanding, this content is interesting too because it follows what players knew as the games were being released, the confusion and all. Like what's 115, what's the MPD, whose voices sid Richtoffen hear, why was he celebrated as a god by the Natives, what the hell is a time loop etc. This all gets answered but not yet None of that stuff makes sense in this video because none of it made sense in the context of the game itself

The incorporation of history/historical rumors is what made the early games so immersive.
Especially with WAW as the framework. I haven’t played a game as atmospheric since.
