You two are hilarious and you have a George who is so in tune with the videoing and knows just when and where to scene steal. Thanks for the laughter I needed that.
This canal was our maiden voyage back in Feb this year. We started from droitwich marina ending up on glos sharpness canal back end of April. I've sent my father in law the vlog as he helped me with the boat. We are both looking forward to your next vlog. Our memories have been relived. Thank you
One person laughing I can handle. Duet laughing is contagious. That episode was too good to be demoted to the bloopers segment; I feel sorry for anyone who might have missed it.
Droitwich canal closed, Michaels tongue and brain closed. One hopes that both will resume normal service some time soon, the latter may take a little longer.......Just brilliant. Love you two guys, and of course George, the only sensible one on the boat.
You guys show up just at the right moment when i am feeling down, it was almost impossible for me not too start laughing along with you two nuts... thanks for making my evening a little bit more enjoyable.
I hope you have a lifeline or pfds handy. It looked like Jo came close to falling overboard when she was laughing so hard...... Safe travels and Godspeed
. Whatever you are doing its working you both seem invigorated. George thank goodness all is working as it should be :-). Enjoyed the giggles with Jo. Hope you're restocked with fuel and winter warming foods, cakes for Michael for the cold coming. Take care
If you haven't already gone through the culvert under the M5 then be aware it's very low. Clear your roof . I scraped my way through a few years ago. I couldn't remove a wee mast at the front. 🙄
What you need are torpedos. I need whatever you found to smoke. I don't remember seeing Jo laugh so hard. She is still cute as a button and the snorts are adorable. Thanks for the ear to ear smiles.
Good chatting as usual and George doing a poo over Mikes shoulder!!!!! and 9 pounds of poop hahaha I did notice that the canal/river has a flow indicated by leaves, I have often wondered if canals have a flow....
Canals tend to flow down, just like rivers, though it can be very, very slow in times of low water when locks are well sealed. It's also fascinating how a boat moving quite a few miles downstream from you can reverse that flow sometimes, on narrower canals with more hard-packed banks. M
I used to live near the Queens Head and bought a cabin cruiser from a guy who moored it alongside the pub. This was back in mid seventies and the pub was only a the size of a cottage. It as certainly grown.
Many thanks for the hilarious video, really made me smile. Boating is such an adventure with the closures, hope you get ‘somewhere ‘. Just thought I haven’t seen Tardebigge so need to backtrack a bit. Happy travelling. Hope to bump into you (not literally) next year.
I've just noticed you have several dislikes to your video. WTF. you guys are great. I cannot believe people watch then hit dislike. I do click the notification button each video.
I think you might only have to turn on notifications once! As for the dislikes, yeah my guess is there’s a few people we’ve rubbed the wrong way, as they seem to dislike every video out of some sort of sense of vengeance. M
What a great video. I really enjoy them and those bloopers.... a crack up. Have you thought of making a sign to read or show? May help Michael with the tongue twister. :)
I'm a mug for thinking that your posts are current - but of course, you have to edit the raw footage - so no point in commenting on 'things to do while you're there' ('cos you've gone well past). Thus - this gripe is a general point. You are doing what we di for the first xx years of boating; not the best idea - especially as you have the time. SO, stop and look. There is a great 'boneyard' at the top of Tardebigge, with a wonderful view plus an interesting memorial to a successful Admiral (QI). Worcester has a pleasant Cathedral with oodles of history plus some very pleasant music (forget the religion bit - if you have hang-ups), just enjoy the sounds and the architecture. If you're lucky you might hear the organ playing. There's also a wonderful pottery where some beautiful china is made. Every town / city has something worth stopping for - even Brum.. Cruising is a means to an end; you're missing the end....
We're not though. Not everything we do or see gets captured in the videos, and for instance I spent quite a bit of time wandering Worcester Cathedral. We spend our time quite well, though we don't have an unlimited amount of it. I do wish we didn't have stoppages to think about, as when those are on the horizon we are forced to rush about a bit more to avoid getting trapped for months on end, but overall we're seeing lots and lots, and will see lots more before our remaining time is up. M
Minimal List I don’t know Mike, George was making a pretty good account of himself and would have left the Sheep and cows pretty spindly if they tried to keep up!
Minimal List well I didn’t spend that much time in Altus OK I still think George would give a Holstein a run for its money in this vlog. Georgy was a busy boy!
Yeah, I've been nearly knee deep in cow poop ... George hasn't come close to what a cow can do. Course the cow has nothing on either the elephant or the rhino, both of which I've also trod in. M
Just had a Blues Brothers moment, in my head, whilst watching this..........We got a full tank of diesel, half a pack of croissants, it's autumn and we're wearing sun glasses----Hit it.........Just a shame that you cannot use Peter Gunn as cruising music :)
I thought George was going to test you in this video - he had that determined look on his face from the opening few moments of the video. You do make me laugh though 1 lb in and 9 lbs out.😂
Have you noticed your bloopers are getting to be nearly as long as your vlog!? That's not a complaint by the way :) Very amusing! Keep up the good work, well, and the bad ;)
Very entertaining, especially the giggles at the end, LOL:-) Techie question.... when you show speeded up footage, are you showing video that's been speeded up, or is it time lapse? Many thanks.
Usually it's time lapse; the GoPro cameras have very limited battery life and storage, especially when run real time. By going to timelapse we found we could get a large portion of the trip in and still be pleasing, so we started incorporating it right away. Jo sometimes speeds up footage shot on the phones, but that's more rare. M
Hi! I always thought M and S more expensive but we waste less as the quality is better especially the vegetables.Their prices whilst often a little more are not always so, beans for example are 35p for a large tin and not full of sauce.
Plans? Every time you make plans, someone does something to change your plans to fit their plans. Sounds like something George Carlin could do an hour on. So who pixelated George having a dump? You or TH-cam? Thanks for the video.
We did. TH-cam doesn't have that sort of auto censoring power. And, yeah, as far as I can tell the main point of a plan is to act as a reminder of just how far you've deviated from it. M
@@MinimalList Since your delicate sensibilities won't allow us to see his brushwork (or lack of it since you mentioned Pollack) we can only sympathise. A bucket-propelled dog could explain the inability to hear commands with all that internal rumbling to overcome.
@@MinimalList "If it were me?" What? TH-cam's Victorian faux morals or not may I be among those who advise you (a) not to be caught on film 'toileting' on the tow path, even pixellated, and (b) not to polish the results with shellac or any other industrial product. The ability to obscure segments could be a wonderful counter-culture tool. For example, imagine if on your dauntless Thames journey you had been able to wipe out the HoP, apart from Big Ben of course, or even superimpose George in full artistic mode. *giggles*
Why do people still use Nicholson's guides when there are so many better canal navigation tools online and on your phone. Even the CRT website map is better. No one uses paper map books in their car so why do so many people use them on the canals.
We like them mainly for the color commentary. None of the apps will ever tell you that, for instance, dogs are welcome at a specific pub, except for Shar Peis, or provide historical details about some of the odd sights along the way. Besides, none of the canals change so considerably that they truly need an up to date digital representation. Lastly -- and this is a big one -- the guides still work when there's no bloody signal! 😁 M
@@MinimalList The last one I bought for the Coventry canal still had the Ricoh Arena as a Gasworks and that had been built 10 years before so no sign of the huge canal side supermarket next door. The canals might not change quickly but the world they are in does and Nicholson's rarely get new base maps from the OS. The pub you think welcomes dogs is probably a house by the time you get there. Phone apps work offline and let boaters share up-to-date information.
OK. 112 VLOG videos so far watched, plus all the non-VLOG ones, and still you can't get that right. In tears I am.
The ending? I’m never gonna get that down, I think! Too nervous! M
Funniest out-takes so far. I was in tears...
Thanks for the giggle. We love the bloopers as well as the regular videos.
Glad we got a giggle! M
Double thumbs up for George
Sadly he's got no thumbs to respond with, just a little bit of a funny look and some vestigial dew claws. M
🤣I was half expecting a my precious (ala Golem) comment regarding the bell🤣
I try to avoid doing Golem, as my “my precioussssss” creeps Jo out! M
@@MinimalList 😂
The narrowboat which I have done five long trips on is 36 feet long because that is the width of its owner's back garden.
As good a measure as any! M
You two are hilarious and you have a George who is so in tune with the videoing and knows just when and where to scene steal. Thanks for the laughter I needed that.
To be fair he scene steals even when the camera isn't on him. Also bed steals. And food steals. M
This canal was our maiden voyage back in Feb this year. We started from droitwich marina ending up on glos sharpness canal back end of April. I've sent my father in law the vlog as he helped me with the boat. We are both looking forward to your next vlog. Our memories have been relived. Thank you
Thanks for watching, glad they brought them back! M
Loved seeing George patiently waiting for you to finish the intro. I suppose after 100 videos, he knows what to expect.
Yep... though it doesn’t make him any more happy about it! M
lovely as usual
Thanks! M
OK I am lost too, So, George is still looking for better offers, Normal for every Canine we have ever had.
One person laughing I can handle. Duet laughing is contagious. That episode was too good to be demoted to the bloopers segment; I feel sorry for anyone who might have missed it.
I think more people skip to the bloopers than skip the bloopers, but either way I hope they see the error of their ways! M
Best bloopers to date!!!
'Best poopers to date' :)
I cried laughing through those!
Good to get people laughing so hard they cry! M
More beautiful scenery...yep, I spied that gorgeous little cottage too! Looks ideal. Great bloopers on this one!
Thanks! We like blooping! M
Thanks for the ever uplifting exploits on the beautiful canals glad to see the 3 of you are doing well.
I get the feeling it was an intoxicating day 🤣
Tiring, certainly. I've never been intoxicated, far as I can tell. M
LOL glad to hear that, unlike my suspicions about some hire boat operators
I left a like for the bell, I don't use the bell, but I like it.
Like away! M
Thats a might fine bell... I LIKE IT
Decent vid, needs more bakery treats
We always do need more bakery treats. M
Droitwich canal closed, Michaels tongue and brain closed. One hopes that both will resume normal service some time soon, the latter may take a little longer.......Just brilliant. Love you two guys, and of course George, the only sensible one on the boat.
The latter is permanently out of order! M
You guys show up just at the right moment when i am feeling down, it was almost impossible for me not too start laughing along with you two nuts... thanks for making my evening a little bit more enjoyable.
Glad to help! M
I hope you have a lifeline or pfds handy. It looked like Jo came close to falling overboard when she was laughing so hard...... Safe travels and Godspeed
We do indeed, just in case of giggling emergencies! M
. Whatever you are doing its working you both seem invigorated. George thank goodness all is working as it should be :-). Enjoyed the giggles with Jo. Hope you're restocked with fuel and winter warming foods, cakes for Michael for the cold coming. Take care
Well stocked on everything but cakes. They always seem to disappear. On the side note, George is full of pep! M
Brilliant
Best Out-rake video ever!!!
If you haven't already gone through the culvert under the M5 then be aware it's very low. Clear your roof . I scraped my way through a few years ago. I couldn't remove a wee mast at the front. 🙄
We'll be heading back down there later this winter, we think, but shall ensure we don't scrape! M
We had a dog that produced a lot more than we gave it in food!
Amazing biochemical machines, aren't they? M
I'm getting over the shock of George being referred to as 'the dog' and him being the star of the show as well.
Well, "the dog" is sort of like "the talent"... m
You guys make the best Bloopers lol
Thanks! M
What you need are torpedos. I need whatever you found to smoke. I don't remember seeing Jo laugh so hard. She is still cute as a button and the snorts are adorable.
Thanks for the ear to ear smiles.
I do like the torpedo idea... but then I'd need to rig up sonar, and there's already too many jobs on this thing! M
Good chatting as usual and George doing a poo over Mikes shoulder!!!!! and 9 pounds of poop hahaha I did notice that the canal/river has a flow indicated by leaves, I have often wondered if canals have a flow....
Poor Jo, that was 5 times Mike! or was it eight?
Canals tend to flow down, just like rivers, though it can be very, very slow in times of low water when locks are well sealed. It's also fascinating how a boat moving quite a few miles downstream from you can reverse that flow sometimes, on narrower canals with more hard-packed banks. M

I used to live near the Queens Head and bought a cabin cruiser from a guy who moored it alongside the pub. This was back in mid seventies and the pub was only a the size of a cottage. It as certainly grown.
It's enormous, and certainly no longer cozy as a cottage, though they did do some great bar food. M
42 locks brings on a case of "lock sillies." Hilarious😂
very good, would love a canal side property... but £450K is more than I could aford :( So if you see any cheaper ones, do please point them out
We shall keep an eye out! M

I love the part where you want us to click the bellybutton! One of the best bloopers you produced!
Haha, thank you!
You will love Gloucester and sharpness canal may be some restriction on the swing bridges 👍🏻
We did indeed love the G&S, absolutely gorgeous! Luckily we beat the restrictions, for the most part! M
J said a bad word, shaaaaaa-ammmmme
So much shaaaaasammme. M
Love the bloopers I was laughing along with you both 😂🤣 oh and Micheal there nothing wrong with a bean badge haha.
There is when laundry is a week away! M

Ahh, the weirdness of seasons and the geometry of a spherical planet! M

To me more accurate I should have said "oblate spheroidal" planet. M
Minimal List so it's not flat then?😉
Don't even get me started. M
All those Morlocks and not one mention of HG Wells!
There certainly we more locks! M
Paint some canon hatches on the sides 🏴☠️, my eyes were leaking at the end 😂 ,cheers
