Tidal waters scare me sh*tless, but as you have often shown, preparation is the key to making such waters at least 'doable'. I wouldn't do it, but I enjoyed watching you two do it! Was it just me, but did anyone else notice just how nice, helpful and polite that lockkeeper was? Definitely worthy of thanks. Great vlog guys.
I've always found Goole Docks a fascinating place to take photos and it's easy to visit with the public footpath going through the docks. I watched the first part of the trip on the maximum velocity channel and the sunrise is really amazing!!
6:50 - Canal boats won't typically run with AIS transponders and since you had a handheld radio I'm pretty sure you don't have one. That other ship would have no idea what your vessel name is without it.
It’s free within a short time window either side of high water (Presumably due to minimal loss of water from the canal system) Otherwise there is a charge to pay. Don’t know how much but not cheap I think.

What a beautiful trip. Congratulations on your courage!
Traveling at night! Wow.
So atmospheric. I used to love an early morning start to catch the tide ( not so much if it was below zero C !)
Travelled down from Naburn to Barmby in 2023 got into difficulty with the currents near Barmby - I single handed the whole journey

I was happy to see this episode. I watched the real time one on your other channel. I enjoyed that one but it was nice to have a bit clearer picture.
Wow squared!
Scary but atmospheric, as I watch from the safety I've my armchair. I feel like it should almost be renamed Ghoul Locks.

Michael please don't not your head when agreeing with something on the VHF. It did give me a little chuckle.
Most would go with a Pilot for this trip - the channels can be difficult to follow
Is there a fee to pay when using the tidal lock?

That short time widow is two hours either side of high water.
