What's the reason you are using Brutish Momentum with a shield? Surely you are using H1 block cancel. If so its a wasted point. Attention seeker would be a good replacement or even better Big Lungs.
Really? I haven't bothered with big lungs, yet. Especially, since Oppurtunist + Brutal Momentum is virtually the same as Skullcrusher + BM. Honestly, they are at least less disappointing then the block related blessings. Those, I can't justify yet for auric t4 and t5.
@@flipsvstheworld it’s mostly so that your taunt will stagger more in its radius without knocking them on the ground to make the most of all their heads lining up for bromentum. Attention seeker is perfectly fine as a constant peeling tool for the team too with the shield.

@@flipsvstheworld all good, there's hundreds of nodes/talents split across 4 classes so I don't expect anyone to remember talent names on short notice. If anything half the time I just know what node/talent does what and where it is in the tree but I'll still have to mouse over the thing in particular to remember its name.
Hey, man. Have you or any other darktide creators figured a way to make the new blocking related blessings on the shield work consistently? Let alone have any value? Even if it's a meme or gimmick build, I can't justify a reason to use those new blocking blessings with added stamina regen and block efficiency nodes and talent nodes. Especially, with such a fast paced horde shooter.
I think they need a minor bit of rework. They're either far too situational or don't come up often enough to make use of currently given the shield's optimal moveset is currently just Heavy 1 - block cancel repeating where making use of those blessings isn't really comfortable to weave in uptime wise. There's previous precedent with shield weapons from Vermintide 2 that the devs could take inspiration from at least moveset wise to rethink blessings. It's something I and the other playtesters can look into whenever we're in a period to look things over between content drops.
Im gonna play taunt shield tonight cuz I just went back through ogrynomicon and they were talking about opportunist. I really hate the lack of stamina with shield build but i can see that being less of an issue in a melee only missions where everythings clumped together and a bit slower pace.
Stamina isn't an issue with Shield. I may have played too long with my quiros have some stamina regen or efficiency, so I may not recall the beginning of startinf fresh. But, Ogryn's natural high stagger on all melee weapons, especially heavies, + talent node investment make his stamina management a non-issue. Also, depends on the defence stat of the shield.
On my shield I've got Brutal Momentum & Skull Crusher. Would it be better to switch Skull Crusher with the Opportunist blessing instead? What is more damage output in your opinion?
They're probably very close it just depends on what you want your shield to do better against. Opportunist for stronger armor bleeds, or Skullcrusher for general damage.

Bull rush puts mobs on the ground but most enemies get a little shove knock back on taunt but don’t fall down so it lines up for easy head slams while they’re frozen in place. It’s more for brutal momentum than opportunist but opportunist will buff the bleed tick on armor which is more likely to get staggered on either the initial stun of the taunt or a heavy shield slam
Block cancelling. Basically do Heavy 1, hold block real quick, spin up a Heavy 1 again. If you hold block for a minimum amount of time it'll restart your combo

Poxbursters have been acting weird lately... sometimes they'll get shoved without detonating, other times they'll straight up ignore the shove even at full stamina and explode
Aside from the push block strikedown, the cudgel is honestly crap at everything compared to the shield. Especially, since light attacks dont restore armor or penetrate/stagger armor and dense hordes. It can be fun to mash light attacks, but that's how new Ogryns go down every 2 minutes. That, and holding the block special while ignoring the horde.
good gameplay, no offence but your team was so terrible, they ping gunners and snipers far away but expect ogryn to kill them lol. You were carrying hard
There are alot of horrible players in auric and even maelstrom nowadays. Stupid penances has these noobs quickplaying into hi shock missions and they dont even know the fundamentals. Dont even get me started on damnation cuz it might as well be malice. I used to play damnation every once in awhile if i didnt want to deal with hi shock but damnation players need carried so hard I just get off if i dont wanna play auric or maelstrom. Its miserable as someone with 1,000 hours so I cant imagine how bad it is for all the wound wearing noobs who dont know fundamentals or how to craft for that matter. They should really do something about the resource bottle neck in this game because all it does it funnel horrible players to the highest difficulty as opposed to them staying in malice where they belong.
@@infrared6973 agree, it pisses me off when morons dont prioritize tox bombers and bombers because they to AOE denial. They will be busy killing dregs and lesser enemies, while walking past bombers. Happens mainly in Auric
I'm not quite sure I experienced that this round, at least from a quick glance at the scoreboard both my friends Slav and Konny wiped more elites and specials than I did. If it seemed that way from how I was constantly engaging things at long range I was mostly abusing how shotgun pellets work in this game (max range shotgun hits *always* hit with a minimum pellet count for a guaranteed amount of minimum damage which helps things like kickback surprisingly slap from afar)

Shoving doesn't detonate them. Them getting near their intended target does.
Explosions insta kill them however.
