This is the only fishing I do now. Keeping it simple means far less hassle and far more enjoyment. I’ve had some monsters using this method (until one decided it had enough and snapped my pole in 2)
brilliant tip there Des, been doing that for years mate coz sometimes fishing with worms then hook a band on to go with pellets, easy change, still a very good tip, thank you
What model of camera you recording? Video quality and color of water are great! Bonus nice fishing tips. Can you mount bread on latex band like that also?
Camera's are Sony A7SII and Sony A7III. You can mount bread in a band but you'll need a bigger band - Korum do some large bands made to go around large chunks of bread :)
Hi Dez good info but have been using it for quite a lot of years, used to cut stick float bands in half for the top end of lob worms yes and it did work, then when the pellet come in great, have noticed when you are pole fishing that on your rigs you never use one or two No 8s above the float?, Des great videos keep them going lets get the Q&A back
I wounder if you can answer me a question, I've asked this question several times without response, I'm almost 60 now been out of fishing for 25 years, don't get me wrong I'm no slouch, but the range of elastic baffles me, back in the day we cut our top kits back and just shot a 20 elastic in 😂 carp were the species, now the fisheries are so diverse, you can catch quality roach, rudd, ide, then a carp rips you're elastic out and brakes you're hook length, I only have 4 top kits, I only pleasure fish, what elastic could I use to enjoy fishing for the 1lb skimmers etc and have a chance of landing a 6lb carp. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi Alan, A sensible choice for that sort of range of fishing would be 11Hollo - it is soft enough on the strike to not bump skimmers and bream, but has enough stretch and strength to deal with small to medium sized carp and if you do hook a bonus you won't have any issues taking your time to land it.
Old post now, in response, I only have 4 top kits as mentioned, anyone starting out, getting confused as I was, all my top kits have 13 dura slip, happy days ❤, I remember what when hair rigs were carp anglers rigs, we could buy bait bands, they are not new, I'm talking the 90s, you could get some that had tinny eyes in them that the hook went through, back in the day we'd use an old school float rubber, them were the days, always thinking, it's the old addage, "everything that can be invented has been invented 😂," love watching des,
I fished the short line at a new venue recently but lost 5 fish because they shot off away from me when hooked and either snapped me off or pulled the hook. Is it because I’m doing something wrong or was I just very unlucky to have 5 fish do that? It didn’t happen every time but still 🤷🏻♂️
It's always important to have a few sections behind you ready to add if they do shoot off. It could however be that the fish were foul hooked if they reacted different to other fish you hooked on the day. Sometime's it is inevitable but if you are suffering with lots of foul hookers or lost fish try changing the quantity or how you are introducing your bait, using a cad pot to sneak it in instead of throwing for example.
@@Sonubaits Thanks for the info. I was introducing a large cup every tow or 3 fish so maybe I had too many fish competing. I think I need to take more time on the top kit + 2 and not try to get the fish in so quickly. Maybe a session with Des would help. Thanks for the response.
