My wife and I bought our house from an elderly JW couple twenty-nine years ago. They didn’t want to leave the property but were forced to because of failing health. When they later had both passed away their adult children contacted us and asked if they could spread their ashes in our cow pasture. We told them no. I later realized that they wanted to do this because they believed that my wife and I would be destroyed in Armageddon and the couple would be resurrected in our pasture and could reclaim their property.

I am celebrating my birthday and mothers day with my family tonight. The whole family was sick on my birthday but I was soo grateful to be out and living the life I want. JWs celebrate it but there own low key version of it.

In grade one I our class had made hangers with ties for Fathers Day. When I gave it to my father I got slapped & scolded into tears like I had done something really really bad. That feeling still resonates with me today when Mothers or Fathers Day appears every year. Just a horrible memory that this cult had engrained in me for life. You made some really good points. One especially with the CO visit. I remember an elder saying to another elder at that time "you would think it's xmas the way everyone is acting" . I never forgot that and now you made me connect the dots since I didn't back then but yeah, they do worship labels big time in halls. An elder will give a talk about loving the unloved meaning those that get no attention whatsoever, but then after the talk you would see young ones going into an elders house with pizza boxes. They forgot the older ones like the widows and even elderly ones who couldn't get out where in need of that loving as well. Such a horrible horrible cult!! They don't keep holidays or more importantly God's Holy Days. They cherry pick what scripture best suits their motives. I lost a brother at ten years of age due to their no blood transfusion policy and now they changed it to blood fractions. Also, my mother took her life a few years later because of all what had happened with having to watch her son die. The cult is blood guilty on so many levels.
That happened to me I made a mother's day project and my mother made me take back the teacher

I’m so glad y’all are here because being raised in this religion as a unbaptized publisher it was too much I almost felt like if we didn’t agree it was frown upon. Like black nail polish I told it was inappropriate like whaaa? But I’m very close to my mom and she’s a JW..because she know what it is outside of the religion. I asked two JW's about the 1975 issue. They played it off. They told me that "only a small group" came out with that. They said it wasn't a big belief of the Governing body. I would LOVE to know the real truth on this so I could educate them. Can you give me info?
1975 was a huge issue!! There’s many TH-cam videos on it but we can definitely add it to our list as well

The rank and file believed what the governing body said about 1975. Talks were given at assemblies and on radio broadcasts pointing to 1975 as the end of this system. Young people were told not to consider further schooling, people dropped out of high school to pioneer people quit their jobs, couples were told not to marry and have children so they could preach before the end. I remember visiting a kingdom hall and they had a calender marking down the days. The governing body prediction failed. Imperfect men make mistakes However the issue here is if you make mistakes be honest to admit it,don't cover it up and don't put the blame on others.
All that stuff about "cant" celebrate certain things. Especially, birthdays and mothers day. Bothered the living life and death out of me. I'm now obsessed with birthdays. I sent my mother flowers yesterday. 😂

Charles Taze Russell was a 7th Day Adventist and started the religion called The Bible Students. He had a beard, celebrated Christmas and birthdays. It wasn't until Judge Rutherford came along, (after Charles T. Russell died) Rutherford took a lot of Russells beliefs and changed the name to Jehovahs Witnesses and took away holidays. He also hated beards, so he said no beards. Do your own research. But actually Joseph "Judge" Rutherford started most of this. By the way, 7th day Adventist still exist to this day and have similar beliefs.

Ever since I got baptized, I never got special treatment. Is this because I was a convert when I turned adult? Everyone else I knew celebrated their baptism day, and it certainly had the vibe of a birthday. They just don't call it that. Oh, they do this to born-in JWs with families as I've noticed. I’ve been down that rabbit hole, it’s absolutely fascinating. See also Dan McClellan (PhD scholar of the Bible), Kipp Davis (PhD scholar of the Bible), The Bible was Written Backwards (Matt Monger PhD), Bible & Archaeology (Dr Robert Cargill’s channel (Dr as in PhD)), Digital Hammurabi (Assyriologist Megan Lewis & Dr Joshua Bowen). There are countless other critical Biblical scholars on TH-cam & the internet, it’s so interesting & gives a whole new perspective. I no longer believe the Bible has any kind divine inspiration or authority at all, to the point where I consider myself a Heathen/Pagan (I just went back to the traditions & folklore of my ancestors with modern ethics, scientific knowledge & my own personal values of course). But I’ve gained a whole new appreciation of the Bible from a literary standpoint, it’s fascinating when you study it critically as folklore & mythology & then compare it to the archeological data from surrounding cultures of the time (or apparent time as the case may be).
What are the differences between the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures and the King James Version Bible? Why is it called the Holy Scriptures and not the Bible???

It is has now been proven that Horus being baptised and the like in comparison to Jesus is not true. From memory, this is taken from 19th century scholars like Kersey Graves and Gerald Massey, who today are considered outdated.
There are other Egyptian cultural influences in the bible - which are probably accepted by religious scholars - such as circumcision, prohibition of eating pork, Psalms 104 probably based on the Hymn to Aten (Akhenaten), Proverbs 22:17-23:10 is probably derived by Pharoah Amenemope.

You bring up a lot of really good points BUT some of what you teach is just as far fetched as what JWs teach! People are coming here for a variety of reasons, some for solace, or to ease their guilty conscience for leaving or to join the band wagon , to try and find good reason to have left, to join with people who have left but are still believers, Not in the organization but in God. Believers in God will find no solace here. You just condemned both Jesus Christ and God in this video.
