  • Today we replace the Mickey Mouse hose (AKA the oil filter housing coolant hose) on the BMW E87 130i with the N52 engine

    Mine failed a couple of weeks after buying the car. Got a new alloy part really cheap from Amazon. The original is such a bad choice of material. what was bmw thinking. Great video man

      Recycled plastic, it doesn’t like the heat cycles too much, very common failure. Good you got it changed out for an aluminium one 👍

    I’d like to see you do the camber pin mod, on the strut mount at the top there is a sort of notch that they drill out or somehow remove they then release the strut top bolts and move the strut as far towards the engine it can go. Apparently a very good mod for handling.

      Yes, that’s a good mod to do along with fitting M3 lower control arms. I’ve not moved onto the suspension just yet, and I’m undecided which way to go with it as the car is currently a daily driver

      @@MTechGuy 12€ piece with 30€ shipping+ tax. Thank you UK and Germany wont ship to my country in Europe. Ridiculous! Well, gotta go with the normal plastic one, should last the 90k miles at least 🤣 thanks tho

      The rest is OK at the moment, I may do it when I pull the diff, hoping to install an LSD sometime in the future

    Any tips to get the hose off the thermostat easily?

      Remove the engine under tray, go from underneath laying under the car looking towards the front of the car

      8.2 Litres made up of 50/50 distilled water & antifreeze
