Thank you so much, this is exactly what I need, slow, methodical explanation of what to do and why.

I am too checking out the teensy and arduino ide sw...it is not as easy as you think...I have massive knowledge in the automotive industry and electronics...but ive never done any coding and finding this a massive learning curve.

good to hear, did you see the follow up to this series and how now we can control the BMW Safety Box?

Many thanks for sharing this, until now we thought we had waisted our funds on purchasing these modules. We have the exact same modules 16s 60v with the onboard slave but they are not a whole 6 in series pack like yours. The question then will be where do we make the connections on the onboard slave cable for the 5v plus minus and the low and high ?? Believe the female plug off the module is a 32 pin

I'm glad I stumbled on this! I've chosen SimpBMS for my 914 upgrade to 6 Tesla modules, but the SimpBMS boards are unobtanium right now or just wildly overpriced. I've done a lot with ESP32s so I'll port his code to my board and use the Bluetooth function to transmit data to a dash-mounted tablet that will give me all of the pack information along with my existing trip tracker and dynamic range calculator. Subscribed!

thanks, cool build, and 100% agree on the SimpBMS pricing in the States, found one eBay seller but still too much, keep an eye on OpenInverter.org I may attempt a group buy
