- Shoko and I decided to hit the racetrack, my first time in Japan! Coming from a racetrack town myself, I wanted to see Japan's take on it. I was surprised how fun it was, and I felt like I was at some theme park or fancy mall. Come check it out!

A gorgeous day at the races, and a great view of Mt Fuji! Turfy is soooo cute! food looked great too!

Tokyo Racetrack is amazing! Thanks for the tour. While my hometown track, Santa Anita Park, is beautiful, it's not as state-of-the-art as Tokyo Racetrack. I love them and Del Mar.

@@NomadicGaijin Santa Anita Park is beautiful place, but it also has a sad history tied to Japan. In 1942, during World War II, Santa Anita Park was turned into an Assembly Center for Japanese American U.S. citizens as a preparation for an internment Camp. The stables served as temporary residences during this time. These stables are now recognized as a historic site. Oh well, it is an interesting place.
Completely different to horse racing in the UK in terms of the style of the venue and facilities. Some beautiful views too! Another great video 👍
Yeah there are some similarities to the track from my city, but overall it has a completely different vibe, great food too!

thanks for sharing this. I have been twice and agree its very different to back home (Australia). I didnt find the QR code system for betting on my visits so will keep an eye open for this next time. if you go to the information desk they will give you a card and betting guide to fill in tickets. I also discovered that to bet with cash you need to go to the yellow terminals. there will usually be a attendant with a map that will show you the closest cash terminals. 200 yen entry is amazing and the food is very reasonably priced.
Yeah I really thought the whole experience was reasonably priced and a fun time. Would definitely do it again!
I like how they tried to skimp out on Shoko, thinking she wouldn't notice they replaced a takoyaki with a mayonnaise ball. 😂
And you're right, the racetrack does remind me a lot of Ikspiari Mall in Maihama.
Haha I think they are 5 piece sets but that Mayo ball was something else ah Ikspiari that’s the mall! Right yeah
I know the Kieba stuff is big. I have several older men who are really into it. I have never been to a race but this really makes me want to go to one.
Yeah I never had an interest but shoko wanted to go, and I gotta say I will be going back 😄

Where is this and are racetracks open in winter during February?
Tokyo Racecourse in Fuchu is the one we went to, and we went early February this year. Was crazy that we had snow the night before 😅

Yeah it can easily be fun to go with someone not so interested in the racing, as there is so much to do (and eat!)
