That’s not what my youtube analytics say. The editing has increased viewer retention, which in turn has triggered the youtube algorithm. Since viewers are watching longer durations and not skipping forward, I have increased subscribers and my ad revenue has increased. Before I started editing this way, people found me a bit boring and would frequently fast forward past the first 30 seconds which hurt me on the algorithm. So it might seem like unnecessary editing, but since I am trying to make a living from youtube, I need to do what works and the editing has improved all of my viewer analytics.
@Anonnermoose The consistency certainly helps, so I can see why people would think that. However, the reason I started editing intros is because the analytics showed massive dips in retention in the first 30 seconds of each video. I watched several TH-camrs who all average in the millions of views and they preach that you should have a cut or edit every 2 seconds to keep retention high. Since I have tried editing differently, It has definitely erased the number of people skipping ahead to the reaction which has correlated to the increased engagement. Also, I am sorry if my response came off a bit aggressive 😅 I just woke up. I appreciate your feedback on the videos
