I was testing the JBL at Walmart, very clean super nice bass $349 price I moved on to test the groove onn IPX4 and it sounded nice with a very nice bass as well at $149 I ended up buying the onn one. I wasn’t disappointed at all. Great speaker!

Picked up two of the onn LPS2 with an open box special for less than $100 each (boxes were jacked but speakers were fine). I picked up two speaker stands and I’m only in $240. Very happy!
i bought the Onn a few weeks ago to use on vacation and was completely surprised how well it sounded for $150. I was 100% ok with the purchase and it was gonna have a place in my room at home for sure.. it worked flawlessly for 4 days,. then, i started having Bluetooth issues. from 10 foot away it would disconnect and go back into BT paring mode.. it would then reconnect and of course would mean id have to unpause the audio on my phone again. At first it was sporadic and I wrote it off as interference, however, by the end of the trip we were hanging in the hot tub and from 10 foot away it would disconnect every 15 minutes or so then reconnect again. After getting out of the water to unpause my audio over and over I was pretty well done with it. I took it back the following day. I thought about getting another, but i was just spooked by the weird issues and decided to go back to JBL.. I ended up with the Party Box encore and i have 90% of the volume of the ONN with a clearer audio, in a much smaller package. There is a little sacrifice being that the Encore is half the speaker of the ONN, but the convenience of transport for a vacation speaker is well worth it and i fell like the quality of the product will win in the long term.
Yeah, I've read some other issues with the Onn Large 2 and that really is a let down. Onn had issues with the first gen speaker and I had hoped they would put more effort into making the second version more reliable. That may not be the case, unfortunately.
I just ordered the onn large speaker from Walmart, $150. I then discovered the Monster Rockin Roller 360 at Sam's club for $129. Which one is better? I'd like to know before I open the Onn speaker.
Very good. Also, with my S23, it comes with dual audio. I can pair both the speakers to my phone. That's a fun feature to have. I use it all the time. It's actually stronger than pairing one speaker to the other and then to you. I tried that and they would blip often. When I paired them both directly to my phone, that issue was gone.
For the price difference in sound, the Onn is a better deal i think. Not to mention with the bass dialed back a little like it is in the Onn, it makes it a little better for all genres.
Just depends on what you want to spend. The 110 is currently $299, so you could buy two Onn Large party speakers for same price. I would still buy the 110, however. 😄
Thanks for the info. Since I've had JBL Pulse 1-4. I was torn between the JBL Party Box and the Onn. I ended up going with the Onn for my garage and night time beach outings.

I have no issue with loudness from the Onn 2. Now the original Onn Large Party Speaker is a little louder, but that's mainly due to it being a brighter treble that can sound a bit harsh at max volume to me.
Because the 1st Gen is louder and stronger. I got both the 1st and 2nd gen and the 1st is stronger. But it’s good to have both because you got one that’s stronger and the other is clearer.

Just depends on what you like. If you like a screamer, mediocre bass and a tinny sound, the first gen is a good option. 😆

Im sure it wasn't a whole lot but having the jbl pointing at the side of the onn gave it a tiny advantage, shoulda had them facing away at equal angles instead of the onn facing into nothing and the jbl being partially facing a wall that is angled to reflect to the microphone, I wonder how much of a difference it made

I just bought 2 of the onn branded ones, linked them together and holy crap. You can get 2 for less than the price of one jbl and it sounds better in my opinion
@@je-kun that's really hard to say. There are a lot of good speakers and of all sizes and styles. It just depends on what type of speaker you are wanting. The Partybox 710 is a great speaker I really like, but of course it's huge and doesn't have a battery.
Just got the onn gen 2 , gotta say i expected a bit more but then again it was only $150 , i have the w king D9 and its just as loud maybe a bit louder lol. The bass is definitely deeper on the onn gen. 2 ! I also noticed its a bit louder when you plug in the AC cord. Maybe i might keep it lol right now the PB100 is $199 at best buy and amazon so debating if i should return the onn and pay the extra $60 for the PB100 ?
I love good audio. So I would personally go with the JBL if I had more money to spend. I’ve had a party box and I loved it. However, I’ve always loved giving budget brands a fair chance. From the reviews, and especially this one, I can honestly say I don’t feel afraid to go out and buy one. It’s also going to be easier to convince my fiancé to let me buy the Onn speaker as it’s cheaper and it sounds pretty good for that kind of money! Thank you for the comparison!
I did a video a couple of years ago with two Partybox 100's where I went down the street to see how far away you could hear. Check out that video. Also, walmart.com has the Partybox 100 still available for $198. The 100 is at least as loud asd the 110, maybe even just a shade louder. Hope this helps.

Iv never had a jbl but I got two on large party speakers Walmart version of jbl 110 with two 4in woofers and 2 tweeters like the 110 and you can connect any of the onn brand speakers together by holding the Bluetooth button and for literally fractions of the cost retail the large party speakers go for $120 each however I got mine for $60 each and bought two the will fill a room with plenty of bass and have plenty of battery

I was wondering why i can't get my partybox 100 to pair w my onn large party speaker,..anyone know? And im also about to go buy the onn gen2 large party speaker cause i see alot of good comments about it, ive never really been too happy w the low end or fullness of the bass boost on the onn large party speaker and it is too bright as jay would put it. You cannot play two different brand speakers together TWS. So a JBL and ONN won't work. If you do buy the new ONN Large Party Speaker 2 you can pair it together with the old ONN Large you have. I did a video on that, so check it out. 😉
Party box is wider when the volume is pushed. Would rather have 2 party boxes stereo then you get the width and still have $100 left lol. And eq you can do a loooot.

If the speaker mounting hole is 38mm and your pole mount is 35mm, there are adapters you can buy to make it work more snug. not 100% sure, cos it's not clearly visible how you have set them up, but there is something to consider on the off-axis test... High frequencies only ever propagate in the exact direction of the tweeter. The JBL seems to be aimed at the ONN box and then the high frequencies bounce off and go towards the camera. The ONN speaker has nothing in front of it and so the high frequencies get lost more. This small detail can have a significant impact on the listening experience.
Somebody else mentioned this a long time ago. No, it made no difference in the sound of the Onn. Higher frequencies are very directional and this was outdoors. Thanks for the comment anyway. 😉
That's totally up to you. Amazon has the JBL Partybox 100 for $209.99 and I think it's a better speaker overall and for sure less likely to have reliability issues. It just depends on what you want to spend.

Considering that the JBL is MUCH more expensive than the onn, and arguably very slightly better, if it's better at all lol, in my opinion the JBL should sound way better than the onn. So in my opinion the JBL party box is a rip off 😊😊

The Onn build quality is poor.

I've never been a big fan of the Pulse speakers. I still have the Pulse 5, but have never been happy with it.

You sure Best Buy has the Partybox 100 for $199? I don't think they have had that.in stock for a long time. The Partybox Encore Essential is $199.
As far as being louder when plugged in, yeah, the ONN is louder plugged in. The Sony and JBL speakers are like that, as well.

Would love to see a comparison between the party box 110 and the kylpsch gig XXL. There's no comparison videos out at all for that speaker.
The Klipsch is just a cheap, rebranded speaker. I have no interest in it whatsoever.

Does the Onn use a standard size tripod/stand hole? It looks like the ridges on the inside may prevent a standard 1.4” tripod from fitting?

My problem with onn is all 3 party soeakers ive had the batteries stop charging in the first few months
The ONN speakers are cheaply made and I'm sure have a very high defect rate.

you have to use partyboxes at bass boost 2 outside. the low bass doesn't reverberate much outside meaning bass boost 2 is better

Does anyone know the speaker size of the onn Gen 2?
I believe the woofers are 5.25", same as the PB110.
Considering that the JBL is MUCH more expensive than the onn, and arguably very slightly better, if it's better at all lol, in my opinion the JBL should sound way better than the onn. So in my opinion the JBL party box is a rip off 😊😊

@@JaysStraightUpReviews ALL speakers sound better (or worse) depending on where they are placed. This is even more true when they are played indoors. But to a large extent it's also true outdoors. Thanks but I don't think that was a "scientific" comparison. I listened to both of them in Walmart and the onn was louder. I didn't buy it though, because it is too large for my taste, (I like portable). I bought the medium size onn party speaker. Same sound, almost as loud, and easier for me to pack around.
@@mattelvislindsay1326 I never stated this was a "scientific comparison" in any way, shape or form. 😆 If you listened to them at Wal-Mart then that has to be true 100% I guess. Nevermind that I have both and have listened to them both together, but not at Wal-Mart. I guess that makes all the difference. 🤯Anyway, as always, get what you like and that's all that matters.

@@mattelvislindsay1326 yeah, JBL is the top brand of party speakers and there's a reason for that. Nobody can do bass with these types of speakers as good as JBL. Sony keeps trying and failing and they charge as much for their speakers as JBL. I forgot to mention I actually had to send my Onn Large Party speaker back due to popping noises in the tweeters. The Onn build quality is poor.
