I consider Sam Brown to be the finest British female vocalist I've ever heard, so it was a tragedy that she lost her singing voice a while back. Her first 4 albums are great - I have a soft spot for her "April Moon" album, which contains what I consider to be her best up-tempo number: "Now And Forever". It's a shame that Sam really only had "Stop!" as her one big hit, as she had many other songs that deserved to be more well known. Leaving A&M Records after her second album lowered her profile enormously, despite coming out with her most heartfelt and personal album "43 Minutes" as the next release.
Ginger, I’m like you, love this song and still own it. Feel it and sing it like you too!!! I was 18 when this came out and I was hooked. Such a beautiful & emotional song with an equally beautiful voice. One of my all time favourite songs ever. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This song and another one called 'With A Little Love' (and the less compelling) were hits in Australia. I thought ''Stop'' was some 60's song upon hearing it for the first time in 1988.
She's sampling "This is a man's world" with different lyrics and adding her own flavour to it, making it one of the most iconic sobgs of modern soul music.
@@MikeandGinger you should look up the great gig in the sky pulse pink Floyd what a voice, sad that now she can't sing as before due to a node operation.
Now I remembered the song, but I've never seen the video. Didn't think it was as old as that though (1988). Apparently she lost her singing voice in 2007 for poorly understood medical reasons.
Sam is a beautiful woman and fantastic voice and also was backing singer for Pink Floyd 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yes, and she was good there.
Saw her quite a few times when she toured with Jools Holland. She sang on quite a few of his records.
The most underrated female ever. Sam brown is amazing so talented.
Always ❤her music.
She didn't want to be pop Star. She chose another path... We should respect her decision

My peep! 🤜🏻🤛🏻 - G
Her dad, Joe Brown, is one of the UK's original 50's rock & rollers, & still working, at almost 80!! 😲
Don't forget her mother, who sang background for a bunch of famous singers...
Was für ein geiler Song! Gänsehaut, jedes Mal, wenn ich ihn höre!

Saw Sam live when she was a Pink Floyd backing singer.❤
She used to be one of the backing singers for Pink Floyd as well as a good artist in her own right.
Wow, really?! I did not know that! - G

Remember Lynsey de Paul- Sugar me?
Check out Paul Dempsey’s acoustic cover of this song, amazing rendition of a classic!
Try Great Gig in the sky by Pink Floyd. Sam was on vocals on that
Just for Pulse, not for the original Dark Side of the Moon version - but she is awesome on it!
