That is likely the most comprehensive kit of that size I've seen. Extremely well thought out Jack.

Amazing how much gear you have in such a small package! You said the aluminium tin was expensive, I hope you decide to sell them anyway, maybe a trial run. I like how you keep your videos short and to the point. Useful info too! Thanks.

I'd keep the hack saw away from the water bag though. But otherwise another great video Jack, keep up the good work!

I've been following for a year now - always look forward to your videos. the kit is great and emphasizes the saying of "great things come in small packages". you got something here and I for one would buy this kit in a heartbeat.
A idea: you have 119 comments to date on this post. If possible, build a few kits (50) and sell them. if you can, build more from that until you Guage the need.
People will buy this kit...got a good feeling. Good luck and God Bless

I'm in the process of making an all orange kit that is in an 8x4 inch pelican waterproof case. Quite a bit larger but it slides perfectly into an army surplus hip pouch that I will always have on my belt in case I lose all my other gear. awesome kit Jack! I would love to get some on the smaller items you have to add to my kit! thanks for sharing!

    Dude!
That glow stick is WORTHLESS now!
They need to be kept in that layered pouch until use. Sunlight and aid degrade the chemicals inside the plastic tube.
(I'm shocked how many people don't know this, but then again, I learned it when I was a kid: the HARD way)
Love the multi cam pouch, though I prefer an EMT or medic pouch since they have different compartments to keep different categories organized and separate.
Keeping a hack saw blade in there is GENIUS.
Why don't more ppl do that??

Consider instead, the 1600s British Wick. ~3/8 meshed cotton roping x 8" long. Lash/duct tape one tag end. ~3/8 diameter copper/aluminum/stainless steel tubing x 3" long. "Lubricate" the wick with any number of fuel oils: wax, gas fuels, gun solvent/oil, WD40. When starting a fire (flint/steel, metal rasp file/steel, match, bic lighter) push out wick and fluff up. Spark an ember into flame. Spark, ember, flame, light, heat. When done, pull wick back into tube and snuff out. Extreme longevity of use. Candle, safe hot tent heater, night light, ... Compact.

Great kit. It looks like the kit would be able to fit the U.S. military, all metal scout pocket knife I have. That little thing is bullet proof (within reason of course) and would be legal in most if not all countries abroad. You may have already considered that at some point and decided against it. But if not, you may want to try it out for a while. Other companies now produce similar quality, but less expensive replicas of the old Camillus. I have the original as well as a "knock off". Very similar quality.

I love this kit so much I am going to subscribe to your channel. Hopefully this will not seem too presumptuous of me, but I would like to make two suggestions for the tin. #1. A couple of band aids would take care of the first aid requirement, more or less, and #2. If tin volume permits, consider replacing the Leatherman with a newer model Victorionox Swiss Army knife called the "Walker". This model is a little smaller than a typical 3.5" SAK; it fits in an Altoid container and just as importantly, it has atheir excellent saw blade. Of course, you won't be able to construct the Taj Mahal with it, but you can a lean-to or some other debris shelter. Keep up the good work. heb

Got a question: I'm an fan. I susbscribe, please don't think I'm being a smart ass. You call this a SERE KIT. but you use a blaze orange emergency blanket. Isn't SERE for escape and evasion? Again, not being a smart ass. I love the kit.

    • @BlackScoutSurvival
      @BlackScoutSurvival  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

+BARNTIME-PREPPER no. Go look up what SERE stands for. Orange Blanket is for signaling good guys. If I'm e&e I won't be taking out a Mylar blanket that is noisy etc. I'll be moving without stopping. I don't care how cold it is I won't need a shelter from my movement. Or I can make a hasty one out of debris.

Vlad S I think he's mentioned before that 1st aid is a separate issue. I'd agree too. Trying to fit a worthy amount of 1st aid supplies in a small E&E kit is difficult. A separate pouch for 1st aid is the way to go.
